Great! Wish I could go back again to try the other meats and sides! We ordered a risotto of manchego cheese and the 1/2 Fogón de Asao (chicken, pork/lechón, both styles of ribs, and 5 mofongo balls). Also grabbed a cheese flan for dessert. This was enough for four of us to eat a late lunch around 3pm and not need dinner! All the meats were pretty good. Chicken wasn't too dry, lechón was almost like pulled pork ready to be pulled apart, and the ribs were done well. One of the ribs has a lot (15) of spices and tastes like a St. Louis style. Its meat was tastier (fell right off the bone) and was my favorite but might be tied with the lechón. I love BBQ sauces but didn't even bother asking for any there. Not quite sure if they would have had any, though, because Latinos tend to go for the pure meat taste and not use as much sauce like you might find in the southern continental USA. The service was very attentive and it filled up pretty quickly after we arrived. A band started playing a little while later. Word is that a young lady sings every other Saturday night and she's got quite an arsenal of songs (Spanish and English). Only downsides were missing her performance and the draft beer not being available (broke the tap the first week open and haven't gotten it fixed). If you're looking for good BBQ and plenty of food then stop on by. Plenty of parking and lots of tables. I could easily envision this place getting real busy on some evenings! Some pics are below! Time for me to go take a nap after all that food...

We were in Maricao and we wanted to have lunch at a Puerto Rican food place and we had been told good things about the Casona de Artemio in Las Marías. The road is a little dangerous but we went there. The food was very good, service excellent (the girls who served us worked very hard). Very reasonable food prices (generally between $15 and $30 per dish) and drinks were affordable too. The only thing that surprised me (negatively) was the exorbitant price of what they call "crème brulé" and that was a Catalan cream (both are very similar, but the consistency of "crème brulé" is less solid than that of the Catalan cream, (I have lived in Paris and Barcelona, and I know the difference well). While the price for other desserts fluctuated between $4 and $5, the price of the crème brulé was $8.50. The cream was good but not extraordinary nor was the portion big (maybe 3 ounces) to justify that price (and the price wasn't explicit on the menu either).

Aalyah, thank you so much for making our last meal in San Juan so special!! The portions are huge! I split an app with 3 people and honestly the main dishes can be split among two people as well. It was very tasty especially the chicken, and the ribs! The place also looked amazing and we were given a semi-private room for such a large group. Thanks for having us!!

We visited on a Monday night without a reservation and almost didn't get a table. The hostess was incredibly kind and explained that there was an 8:00 p.m. reservation that hadn't been confirmed. She offered to seat us if the party didn't arrive within the grace period. Thankfully, they never showed up, and the table became ours. From that point on, everything was fantastic. The food was spectacular, and the service was just as impressive. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is charming and inviting--it really does feel like dining in a cozy "casita." If you're visiting San Juan, Casita Miramar is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience.

When the Churrasco Mofongo ($27.99) finally came out, the portion size was surprisingly small and did not reflect the price at all. For nearly $28, I expected a much more substantial serving and better overall value. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I also ordered four pastelitos at $2.99 each, and those ended up providing more food and better value than the $27.99 Churrasco Mofongo. It's hard to justify paying nearly $28 for an entrée when a few appetizers totaling less than half the price leave you feeling like you received more for your money. To make matters worse, the staff was largely inattentive throughout the visit. It was difficult to get anyone's attention, there were no updates regarding the long wait, and customer service felt like an afterthought, only because the question "Can I have an update on my order" was asked to the staff. A 44-minute wait can be understandable during busy times, but keeping customers informed goes a long way, especially when multiple families sat, ate, and left before receiving the order. Overall, despite the churrasco mofongo tasting really good, between the excessive wait time, the lack of attentiveness from staff, and the disappointing portion size, I left feeling that the meal was not worth the price. I hope management takes a closer look at both the service and the value being provided to customers.
