Top notch standard of the best of care and bed side manner. She reads her own imaging, which is good and bad. When she went on hiatus I had nothing but bad reads from the radiologist, and nothing to show my new doctor of her analysis over years of treatment. I loved her pure honesty, and compassion! Her main nurse she may have over estimated, now that I've seen other practices. And the receptionist turnover, indicated that it was too stressful in some way or another. I can see her working for a big pain doc, being the "eastern practice". She should know how much she is missed. read more

Dr. Fausett is compassionate and highly skilled. She always spent at least 45 minutes with me at my appointments over the years, analyzing my latest imaging and seeing things the radiologists didn't pick up on. Her procedures were painless and the front office (Janet in particular) always made sure they would be covered by my insurance. She was thorough and highly knowledgeable. I miss her dearly and hope she might one day return to practicing medicine. read more

I was a patient of Dr Fausett for 5 years, from approximately 2013 through 2018. I thought that she was a good doctor who genuinely cared about her patients and wanted to help them get out of pain. Particularly patients, like myself, who are pro active with their recovery and who follow her advice. However, her staff sucks. In that regard I am very much in agreement with the reviews written by AG on 9/15/16, Robert C on 3/4/18, and, most of all, Bernard G on 12/3/18. Bernard G's review, written just a little over one month ago, describes the office manager, Janet, "to a Tee." Janet is agressive and mean and she lacks compassion. She is not well suited to work with patients who are in pain. Dr Fausett once told me that she was aware of Janet's short comings. But that she has Janet in her office because Janet is good at dealing with insurance companies. I understand that dealing with insurance companies, and getting paid, can be difficult. I can understand the need to have someone on staff who is suited to handel that aspect of a medical practice. But for goodness sake, this is a pain management office. It is equally important that her office manager be able to show compassion and be skilled at interacting with patients. Particularly when patients are experiencing acute levels of pain. On this level, Janet fails, and Dr Fausett is aware of that. It would behoove Dr Fausett to heed the reviews here, and the feedback from her patients. It would behoove her to take an objective look at her staff and how they treat her patients. Then to make appropriate changes where needed. Instead, when misunderstandings arise, Dr Fausett backs her staff and allows this behavior to continue, at the expense of her patients. As a suggestion, perhaps Dr Fausette should limit Janet to dealing with insurance companies, and collecting money. She could have someone else interact with patients and schedule procedures. Whatever she decides to do, changes are definitely in order. I am giving her practice two (2) stars instead of one (1) star since, as stated above, Dr Fausette is a skilled practitioner. read more

Ok, so this review is roughly 3 to 4 months later than I anticipated, but no less sincere or appreciative. I had been dealing with compressed discs in my back for roughly 4 to 5 years before consulting and being treated by Dr. Fausett and her staff. From the first consultation to the actual procedure she performed, I have yet to find a physician whom I believe related to my issues and cares about helping me with solving my issues with compassion, but more importantly logical application of known treatments. Before visiting Dr. Fausett's office, I had two epidurals in an attempt to cure me of my debilitating pain. Pain so intense, that I could only average 2 to 3 hours of sleep per night with my legs hanging off the side of the bed for comfort. She was open and honest about the fact that her treatment wasn't a 100% certainty of curing me of my ails. But, she assured me that she would do her best, after having to explain my situation for the 10th time to various physicians outside of her office. Fast forward 7 months post-procedure and I honestly have not felt better with regards to my back pain. Before the procedure Dr. Fausett stated that she would apply an additional measure to help ensure that I would get the best treatment to her capabilities to help relieve me of my pain. In comparison to my other treatments, I received 2 to 3 months of pain relief MAXIMUM. Again, 7 months later I feel better than ever. To not have to wake up to pain and go to sleep to pain, while every 4 to 6 hours throughout of the day focused on taking pain medication, I truly cannot thank Dr. Fausett and her staff enough for their straight forward and caring approach to my treatment. I would recommend her to someone seeking real and knowledgeable advice as a pain management physician! She worked wonders for me and I could not be more appreciative! Thank you, Dr. Fausett, I can't wait to schedule my follow up appointment with you to confirm and share my progress. As for the critics of her staff, I would have to say that Leticia and Janet, as far as my experience goes, were just fine. Janet is straight forward and all business, which personally, I respect. Dr Fausett is the definition of a healer. At a time when soooooo many pain mgmt doctors are pill pushers this makes her as rare as she is extraordinary. Not just as a doctor but also as a person. I have been seeing her for appx 10 years for degenerative disc disease, early onset osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis and now severe carpal tunnel. She has not only provided serious and much needed relief from the pain but has also helped me understand why I hurt where I do , what we can do to fix it and what is needed to keep it from hurting again. I have never been SICK-knock on wood- but you need an entire notebook to detail all the injuries I have had. I even lost an organ playing basketball!!!! I know that when you are in pain NOTHING is more important than making it stop. I know when I get to the point I need to go see Dr Fausett not only is she going to fix me but she is going to do it in a loving way and be my friend as we go thru the process. The first doctor I set up an epidural with showed up an hour late still wearing his golf clothes and smelling of his lunchtime gin and tonic. I made such a scene at ________ Tree - and kicked a hole in a wall too to be 100% honest- that the Pasadena police almost arrested me. I am really glad that doctor screwed that up or I would have never met Dr Faucett and meeting Dr Fausett really has been one of the best things that ever happened to me. It sucks I have to deal with all that crap and the pain it causes but I know that I have a superstar on my side when I need her and that makes it a lot easier to deal with. I mean... how many doctors can you go see that have edited a book that is considered cannon by others in that field?! I tried to read it once in the waiting room but since I never took Latin it was all Greek to me :-) . I recently saw Dr. Fausett for low back pain and leg muscle weakness. I was referred to her by my sister who was also treated by Dr Fausett. Her office has convenient but not free parking. The office itself is very nice and clean. I found her staff both courteous and professional, a rarity it seems from my experience with other doctors. Getting an appointment was also fairly quick. On my visit she spent a great deal of time with me, answered all my questions and never rushed me. Her examination was very thorough and she caught a cervical issue 2 others doctors had missed that was later confirmed with an MRI. She has a good sense of humor and made me feel very comfortable. Both pluses in my eyes. I had an epidural injection for my pain on my next visit and again the care I received was great by both she and her assistant. 2 days later her office contacted me to see how i was doing. I've had other doctors say they would follow-up but most never did. i have a follow-up appointment in 2 weeks and I'm confident she's the right doctor for me. Dr. Fausett is one of few Doctors that seems to truly care about her patients. She listens, she is responsive and she is available mentally and practically. I was referred to her by a very fine neurosurgeon to work with me to avoid further spinal surgery if possible. I wanted to drop in my two cents for Dr. Fausett. We've generally had a great experience with her. My dad went through so many specialists that either incorrectly diagnosed his pain or provided sub-par treatment for the pain. My father has felt much more confident and relieved ever since he started seeing Dr. Fausett. I would agree with Randi K.'s review. I love Dr. Fausett. She has helped me through two different back issues. She's smart and articulates the situation/solution clearly/concisely. However, Janet is a concern. I tried to kill her with kindness in order to deal with her during my appt. It would greatly behoove Dr. Fausett to keep her away from dealing with patients. I cam to Dr Fausett with chronic lower back pain without a clear diagnosis. It's not debilitating but it's always there and hurts. Blecch! On my first visit she spent an incredible amount of time with me, talked me through all the possible issues it might be and treatment options. She's extremely knowledgeable while being able to talk to you in clear understandable language. She's focused on making you feel better. She's also got a good sense of humor. I didn't really get a definitive diagnosis (I'm just old and broke down), but I did get medication and advise to manage things. I really appreciate Dr. Fausett's frankness and pragmatism. Doctor Hilary Fausett is far and away the best physician who has ever treated me. She is thorough, compassionate, sensitive, and extremely knowledgeable in all areas of pain management. The one thing that separates Dr. Fausett from the rest of the physicians I've seen is that she CARES so much for her patients. I have had spine problems most of my adult life, seriously so the past 20 years. I was initially referred to Dr. Fausett by my Orthopedic surgeon after one of my surgeries years ago. From day 1, my call for an appointment was handled with the utmost of courtesy & efficiency. I never have to wait more than 2 or 3 days to be seen unless I am in dire straights & then have even been accommodated within 24 hours. As for Dr. Fausett herself. I find her to be extremely compassionate, very thorough and willing to go beyond mere duty to provide relief to her patients. Something you don't often see in a lot of physicians today is her ability & willingness to look at the whole patient. When I saw her a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned a concern I had that really didn't fall into her area practice. She was concerned, asked some questions & did an exam. She tried to contact my primary care physician & when she unable to reach her, she sent me for 2 tests. In less than an hour, she phoned me with unexpected results & set up an appointment with a specialist for me. Dr. Fausett didn't have to go to any extra trouble but that's just the sort of caring individual she is. I cannot recommend Dr. Fausett highly enough. I have had chronic degenerative neck disease for at least a decade, and awoke to numbness in my right arm one day. I was recommended to Dr. Fausett, who adjusted her schedule to see me that day to treat me for the acute discomfort and, more importantly, help with the chronic problem which several spine surgeons had dismissed in the past. At the current time, I am recovering from a much needed cervical decompression that had caused daily migraines and was resulting in slow degeneration of my nerves. I have Dr. Fausett to thank for pointing me in the right direction which hadn't been done by any other doctor in the past. She ensures that all of my pain symptoms are addressed, and she educates me on all the ramifications of my injuries and the long-term side effects of my medications. When I present her with new symptoms, she makes sure I get to the specialist that I need. She is not urgent care - if you need urgent care, call an urgent care facility. I saw Dr. Fausett today for low lumbar pain I have had for many years and "tingling and numbing" of my right leg. I had brought a copy of my MRI and Nerve Test for her to see and discuss and interpret for me. She explained everything to me with options for pain relief. She was professional and made me feel very comfortable. Her staff was also very kind and courteous. I will be having the epidural injection next week and Dr. Fausett explained exactly what to expect and what the outcome should be. I feel very relieved that I finally found a doctor that listens, observes and understands patients like me. She is providing services to me that can help me through the process of getting better, along with my commitment to doing my part as well... Dr. Fausett is a caring, extremely professional and brilliant doctor who has given me significant relief from severe lower back pain and treated it effectively with epidurals. She spends time with patients and studied my actual films, rather than just taking the radiologist's report at face value, identifying the source of the worst pain. 3 years ago, she recognized that I needed cervical spine surgery months before my spine surgeon did. His further studies showed a large bone spur pressing on my spinal cord and the surgery was a near-emergency. read more

I had a completely surreal experience with Dr. Fausett's office. I have chronic back pain and because I was not very happy with the care I was receiving from the pain management doctor I was seeing at Risser Ortho, my primary care physician suggested I see Dr. Fausett instead. I made an appointment for an initial consultation, which, as is standard in this specialty, her office could only schedule for over two months in the future. When I arrived for my consultation, the staff at the front desk treated me like a criminal. An extremely rude woman (whose name I didn't get, but she has a thick eastern European accent) told me that Dr. Fausett won't see patients who have already seen other pain management doctors. Ummm...What?!? That's bonkers. Thinking this was a concern about opioid seekers, I told her I don't use any meds--but she told me Dr. Fausett doesn't prescribe them anyway (so I guess the concern was NOT about opioid seekers). I said, "If she doesn't see patients who have ever seen another pain management doctor, why is her website filled with text about how she helps people other doctors haven't been able to help? And why did no one tell me this when I made my appointment almost three months ago?" She ended up taking my file back to Dr. Fausett--who never had the decency to come out and talk with me, even though I appeared to be the only patient in the office at the time--and then returned, saying Dr. Faucett wouldn't see me. I have honestly never experienced anything like this in seeking medical care for myself or any member of my family. Everything was so unprofessional. If they only accept patients who have never seen another pain management specialist, they need to ask new patients about their histories when making an initial appointment. Booking appointments months in advance so patients aren't getting care elsewhere, having people take the time to drive in and pay to park, and then turning them away is unethical and unprofessional. read more

Three stars only do to their billing policies. I agree with Randi K. Janet seems to not have much when it comes to feelings and caring. I do talk to her but she is cold. When it comes to insurance. she needs help in following procedures from insurance companies. I have been a patient for 12 years. Insurance can change and they need to be on top of it when I tell them. They bill incorrectly! It is their responsibility my insurance company said and because they did not get a prior authorization for treatment and refuse to get an authorization in the future because they were denied payment. They billed me twice and I was relieved from my responsibility to payment because I filed an appeal for myself but refused to file one on their own behalf. NOW they say if I want to see Dr, Faucett who is a caring and great doctor I have to pay up front and they will not bill my insurance. I also found out that when my insurance changed a year ago they were still charging me my old co-pay over charging me by $10 per visit. Be sure they will bill your insurance company correctly and get authorizations to avoid billing issues. read more

She is inconsistent and not always rational -- accused me of being the cause of her receiving a strike against her medical license (Note); my other mds and pharmacist looked at my meds records and said not! NEVER had me sign a contract and NEVER told me not to obtain interim pain med from internist when unable to get an appointment with her (Fausett) (DIFFICULT). Erratic schedule. Erratic office personnel. Erratic personality. Kind sometimes, cold others. She REFUSED to return my telephone call when I was desperate for addt'l pain med due to recent steroidal injection. Instructed her front office person to tell me: "Make it work" -- with the few remaining capsules. NOT a good communicator. NEVER EXPLAINED how it was I was responsible for her receiving a strike against her license -- just waved a confidential notice in my face and said maybe she wasn't the doctor for me, or I wasn't the patient for her. I forget which. It was tramautic.STILL, i wanted to continue with her for she often took my pain seriously while my surgeon did not. She REFUSED to give me another appointment and said she needed to speak with my other treating mds first -- never heard from her (of course) Don't call me, I'll call you. I credit Dr. Fausett with saving my life. I had a terrible case of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome that had gone undiagnosed by many doctors. She recognized it within minutes of meeting me and helped get me back to a functional state of being. We used medication and a sympathetic nerve block. She is caring, takes her time with her patients, is highly informed and skilled at explaining the complexities of the nervous system. I'm so grateful for her. read more

I would not recommend this Dr. at all. If I could give no stars I would. I am also in the process of reporting her to the medical board for the way she treated my mother. She took 3 days to return phone calls. When we needed an urgent appointment for pain she said that she could see her in 2 1/2 days. The WORST! The absolute WORST!!!! (Okay, I'll spare you all the,"I'm a seasoned Critical Care RN") ... bit.. You guys already know that from my previous reviews so here's my take on Dr. Fausett.... RUN....don't walk away from this office. Dr. Fausett may be a good technician, ( so I'm told but that's only about 10 to maybe, maybe 20 % of patient care. The other 80 to 90% is good communication with your patients that Dr. Fausett is COMPLETELY, COMPLETELY clueless about. Perhaps she's spent too many years taking care of (under anesthesia) unconscious patients and has forgotten how to effectively and APPROPRIATELY communicate with patients, especially those having serious pain issues??? She was sarcastic, extremely rude and hurtful and never followed through with calling me back, as she said she would. She never discussed a potential plan and or what she thought she might be able do for me to help relieve my symptoms. She also has a very aggressive and hostile front office person who spent time arguing with someone on the telephone in her naive tongue while I sat waiting to see Dr. Fausett... NOT GOOD.... No matter what languages she may speak. The only one who seems kind in that office is George... Dr. Fausett's assistant. Thank you George for being so polite and so very kind, unlike your employer. My appointment was also changed without asking me if that was all right (I need to get transportation so I have to work around other peoples' schedules). I got the distinct feeling Dr. Fausett would rather have her own TV show ( who wouldn't, right?) than have an intelligent, thoughtful, respectful communication exchange, albeit briefly, at least with this patient. Like I said, RUN.. Don't walk away. There are way too many really, really talented, communicative and compassionate Pain Management Physicians out there to waste your time with one who lacks all of those characteristics.. I have been seeing Doctor Fausett for over 9 years now and counting, for an array of different pain issues I have had over the years. From side pain to lower back and leg nerve pain she has always been there for me and continues to be till this day! I know from experience how hard it can be to find not only an excellent physician but one with decent bed side manners is a chore to say the least. Doctor Fausett is a rarity, a diamond in the rough, with amazing bed side manners and immense knowledge in her specialty. I feel so comfortable with her to let her know anything and she always has an open ear and mind to try and help me out. Giving me options for treatment and even helping me find a specialist if need be. She goes above and beyond in helping me than any other doctor I have ever seen. She is very thorough and never in a rush, she takes the time you as a patient deserve. Her staff is a well-oiled machine they are very kind and willing to help you out with scheduling etc. As long as she is in practice and I need a pain management specialist I will forever be seeing her.
