I own and operate a successful coffee shop in Austin. We have as many as 80 wifi users at one time…read moreon a regular basis. I spent almost two years banging my head against the wall trying to manage it myself. You name it, we tried it. We paid for multiple lines, we bought the best routers we could find, changed service providers, threw money at anyone we thought could help us, and consulted with everyone we thought might be able to help us. Nothing we tried was able to fix the problem. We'd pay someone to come out to find that our router had been hacked and the settings reset. They would fix it only for it to get hacked again in a few days. We'd get letters from our different providers that people were abusing the wifi and using our line to download things illegally. We saw Yelp review after Yelp review complaining of our poor wifi. What could we do? We were doing EVERYTHING we knew of. It seemed people thought that we just didn't care but that was not the case. We just didn't know how to fix the problem and it seemed neither did anyone else. That is until Murray from DeepCoolClear came along! I wish I could speak about all the things he has done for us, but half of them are above my head! I know this: now we get Yelp reviews talking about how much our internet has improved! No matter what problem we have that is internet related, Murray has the answer and he has it right when you need it. Our new wifi managed by DeepCoolClear is able to easily handle our 80 plus users simultaneously. Murray also has a plan in place for us if our needs increase. If people are abusing our wi-fi by using bit torrent, etc.. the new system identifies their computer and automatically kicks them off after a certain period of time freeing up the bandwidth for everyone else. When needed, he works with our POS creator to work out kinks there. Even when we are just doing things wrong, when it is totally operator error, he helps us out without a second thought. I'm trying to remember all of the wonderful things DeepCoolClear is doing for us, but there are just so many! I believe our POS has priority when it comes to the internet so our credit card transactions are no longer affected (slowed down) by a high volume of customers. We haven't received any complaints from our service provider about illegal downloads since DeepCoolClear began managing our wifi. They can produce reports and graphs for us to show us just exactly what's going on all the time when we have questions and they are available 24/7 to answer those questions. I have yet to call Murray and get a voicemail at the end of the line. I guess my only complaint is that I didn't find these guys 2 years ago! Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about them. To add insult to injury i could not find any updates about their predicament. What I mean is : everything was out: phone, email etc. They had no Facebook page info and no Twitter updates . All of which, you would think they could do with a cell phone tethered to a tablet. I can only speak for the E-Mail service. I love Squirrel Mail and it's economical. And worth avoiding having to use GMAIL or Hotmail or ....... mostly because of the lack of imbedded advertisements but also simplicity. And I can always fall back to RoundCube when I need more than SQ can offer. Nevertheless they are a great service otherwise. They answer my support email enquires in a timely fashion and fix any problem I have. I even sent them a suggestion to improve forcing HTML formatting of EMails regardless of errors that they implemented immediately.

I have been receiving wireless internet service through Prismnet for several years now. I live…read morenear Leander where there is no cable or DSL available so wireless is the only high-speed internet option. The signal passes through a series of towers located in Pflugerville, Georgetown, Liberty Hill, and Bertram. Quality of service has been variable. It is not unusual to have an outage during a storm and then we have to wait for the weather to clear so that someone can climb a tower and make repairs. Some time ago, Prismnet turned over the wireless internet division of their business to another company, Incredinet, operated by Brad Whited. At first there were many outages apparently due to the condition that the system had been left in. Brad eventually got the system back into shape and service has more recently been quite fast and reliable. Then at the first of this month without warning, Prismnet announced that they were taking control back and we are now to send our payments to them. Last time I checked, Incredinet disagrees. Here is the email I got from PrismNet: "Effective today, you are now a PrismNet customer. PrismNet and Brad Whited (Incredinet Wireless) have been in a legal dispute for quite sometime now. Brad Whited declared bankruptcy last month but this was revoked. PrismNet has not been allowed to contact you until now. I will attach the official notice dismissing Brad's bankruptcy effective 9/28/2010. "PrismNet owns all of the wireless infrastructure (you own all wireless equipment located on your premises) and is the direct source of your connection to the Internet. We have the ability to turn off your Internet service at any time. "You must pay PrismNet for this Internet service starting 10/1/2010. Our records indicate you pay $50.00 monthly. This amount will be due at the first of every month. We will bill your credit card. If Brad was collecting payment from you automatically by credit card, we recommend strongly you cancel that credit card. Any payment sent to Brad from today on will not be applied towards your account balance. "You must contact me immediately to inform PrismNet you intend to pay us for Internet service starting 10/1/2010. If not, your service will be turned off. "Please call me ASAP. My contact information is listed below." They attached a document showing that Brad had filed for bankruptcy, which had been denied because he didn't submit all the forms. I don't know what that is supposed to tell me about my wireless subscription. Anyway, I had some trouble with my radio and submitted a service request to Prismnet. There was no response the first day, so I resubmitted the request. No response the second day either. I'm not sure what to do at this point. There are two other wireless providers in the area, Cobalt and Western Broadband. Cobalt is the only provider that has advertised and it appears they may have oversold, causing some bandwidth problems. They are not locally headquartered. Western Broadband seems to be the most stable option but does not have the speed of Prismnet.
