My house has fiber, but AT&T installed the Jack in the upstairs living room, on the other side and a floor above the wiring cabinet (cat5). I decided to relocate Everything to an upstairs closet. I got 2 quotes that were within a few percent of each other. The other installer said they needed to cut drywall for 2 drops, or run one outside and the other on the wrong side of the room. They were also going to just run a line from the fiber jack to the closet, leaving the AT&T box out in the open. When Eric came to do his quote he got deep in all the attics, found that he could pull one of the drops with a duplicate coax, and the slanted ceiling on the other was decorative most of the way so he could drop in the right spot. He also offered to pull a new fiber line to the closet. It all turned out great. one camera needed a small outside hop to the right spot, but he made sure that was OK before doing it. He did a very clean install, labeled the patch panel, wired up the rack beautifully, and cleaned all the mess afterward. The only cut drywall was in the closet for wires to come out.

Eric is now that guy for me with networking. My home has never had good internet. It was built before internet was much of a thing, it's stone, has radiant barrier, outdated connections, nonstandard shape, etc. I prepped Eric for these challenges among others and told him I had very high standards. He was undeterred and we set up a consultation. Eric had to have really impressed me, as I let him drill through stone which is highly uncharacteristic of me. I now have rock solid WiFi both inside and outside my house ~600Mbps for an extended distance and constant speeds over Ethernet even faster than that. On May 14th of 2026 my sister and I took my computer over to Jason's Computer Repair, on May 25th Jason sent me a text saying my hard drive was failing, that I needed a new one and the cost would be $499.00, he said someone else would charge me thousands (I am repeating what is on the text from Jason) I said okay to the $499.00 plus tax and I waited and I waited, he said he had to order the new hard drive, so I waited and waited. On June 2nd Jason said he had the new hard drive and needed another day or 2, On June 9th Jason said I could pick up my computer and I did. The next day my computer crashed again. So I decided to purchase a new computer and when the tech came to my home to set up my new computer, he asked where is your old hard drive, I said Jason Computer Repair didn't give it back to me. I text Jason I would like my old hard drive back, he lied and said he gave it to me the day I picked up my computer that I must have lost it. I said no you did not give it back to me. I was getting nowhere with Jason so I took my original old computer that Jason said he put in a new hard drive in to A computer Engineer in Austin, What they found inside was an old hard drive, older than my old computer (there was no new hard drive and he did not download my old info onto the old drive he installed. The computer Engineer gave me the proof of the older hard drive and they could not recover any of my data, there was nothing. So I gave Jason another chance and asked him if he would look around to see if he could find my old hard drive and he lied and still insisted he gave it to me. I have no idea what he did with my original hard drive or who has all my old info. Now I am experiencing stolen identity. My Amazon Prime account stolen, I have had to report all my credit cards stolen...it is a nightmare. All my info with user names and passwords were on that original old hard drive, My social security info, my medicare info, etc. etc.....I do not know for sure if Jason sold my info but it is sure crazy that he will not return my original hard drive....Did he put in someone else's computer ? Did he sell my info ? I don't know for sure what has happened to my original old hard drive, all I know is that Jason was the last person to have it and is lying about giving it back to me. I ask how someone can do this and I just don't know unless he is selling info for money? All I know for sure are is that we trusted Jason and took my computer to him on May 14th, I picked up only my computer on June 9th, Jason refuses to return my original hard drive, he did not replace with a new hard drive and charged me for it. It is the worse computer experience I have ever had. Dan anchored everything to studs and fixed up the wall and it's been great ever since. Fast forward to today, where I've found myself in a boot situation. I ordered a custom shelf on Etsy that came in many pieces with heavy shelves. We figured we'd see if Dan could install and while he was at it, fix an outlet, fix an outdoor light fixture, hang an irritating heavy photo collage, and fix our bedroom door that keeps pulling apart at the hinges.
