Also a big shout out to Dave and Nick who filled in for a few months while my previous trainer was on medical leave. The whole team at FT are terrific.

Last year it finally occurred to me that I spend more time, money and attention on my car than on my own wellness. And so with that realization I decided I needed to create (and cultivate) a new habit between the hours of 5-6 pm. But where to go? If I headed off to a gym I wouldn't know which weights, machines or routines to use/do. With a little online research I came across Fitness Together -- just 1 mile from my office in Lexington. My goal: Develop a new habit and make working out fun, something to look forward to, and heck, even "addictive" if possible. I gave myself 5 months and started with a pretty simple baseline: Don't tire after 10 pushups. (Okay, increased muscle strength and mass, as well as improved cardio health was also part of the plan.) Fitness Together not only met my expectations -- they exceeded them. In a short 5 months heading to FT 3x week has helped me increase that push up count (now I can do 40-50 no problem) but more impressively I have developed a new habit that I love. I actually look forward to working out and miss it when I'm not doing it. Plus, my jeans are a little looser around the waist and there's been an increase in shoulder, chest, arm and leg muscle mass and strength that is visibly noticeable. (The wife thinks so and I recently saw someone at a party I had not seen in a long time and unprompted they asked "Have you been working out?" Awww. It's the little things.) Big thank you's to the wonderful training staff at FT. I worked with three extremely talented, knowledgeable and likable trainers Montana, Mike and Dawn and would highly recommend any of them if you are looking to develop a new routine and habit, get back into weight and strength training, or mending a sports injury. Now that my 5 months have ended (I bought a 53 session pass), I still plan to continue working with the trainers as I augment with my own gym workouts knowing that I can always return for coaching, new routines or just that extra little push that we all need. There's a great quote posted on their bulletin board, "A year from now you will wish you had started today." Wish I had posted this on my office wall years ago. Turns out to be very true -- so glad I did this. 5 stars -- these guys rock.

5 hours ago November…read more29th, had 2 confirmed tee times at 6:45 and 8:54. Was told there would be a frost delay of roughly 2 hours 15mins. Fair enough, I understand its almost December, no issue with that. So basic math would tell you our tee times are now right around 9 and 11:10ish. We tee off right after 9 and play right at 2 hours. Again, basic math would tell you we are now roughly 15 minutes early for our 2nd tee time. When we check in with the 'clipboard' guy for our 2nd tee time, he tells us right away "its not looking good" but he goes in to check in with the clubhouse. We're a little confused as again, everything was delayed and moved down 2hrs 15 mins. Not too complicated. Clipboard guy comes back out and tells us "bad news, not looking like we can get you guys out. We're so backed up from the delay." At this point none of us know what to think as mathematically and the way time on this planet operates, we had two tee times 2hrs 11mins apart. Played our 1st nine in just at 2 hrs, so we are early for our 2nd 9. But now we are being told we can't play at all. While talking to the Clipboard guy, the Starter walks up to us and immediately gets defensive and repeats over and over there was a 2hr and 15min frost delay! And we reiterated we completely understood, but if everyone was pushed back, then our 2nd tee time, which we are early for, was also pushed back. Starter would not budge and one point just said "well I'm the Starter", which is not helpful at all clearly. Course is very mismanaged. Clearly a course that prefers their regulars to any other customer that shows up on time, plays quickly and has the audacity to expect to play both tee times they booked. With the amount of courses in the area, it's absurd that a 9 hole course that is a generous 'executive course' at best can't coordinate a frost delay, which is extremely common in New England. Curious if anyone from the course has thoughts, but I'm sure they're busy looking for groups in the parking lot after telling a foursome that was ready that they can't play
