I have seen my fair share of poor quality school, but this school concerns me the most. The age group of children at this school is 6 weeks to five years and it also has a after school program for children ages 6 years to 12 years of age. One of the biggest problems that i have seen at this location is bullying. I was very surprised to see this at a school with such a young age group. There have been instances in which children have been hit with toys and books. I have seen children throw books, chairs, and toys across the room causing harm to the other children. The staff children that attend the center seems to be the kids causing most the harm to the other kids using reckless behavior on many occasions. The school seems to be doing nothing to stop this problem. Although many complaints have been made over the past years! The complaints have been ignored. For this reason i feel that the staff children are better looked over by some of the staff. The director seems like she wants to have nothing to do with the existing problem. Also the lunch lady at the school is very unprofessional. My children has told me stories of her yelling at them and other teachers. I have heard her yelling at the children and it happens quite often as i walk in to the school at times in the morning during drop off. She never speaks and is very angry like everyday. The children are always coming home with very bad illnesses such as the flu and pneumonia. There is never a direct answer from the director when these concerns are brought to her. Infact I've caught her in her office on more than one occasion with a cellular phone in her hand and nothing on her desk. Some of the teachers there are good teachers, but for the most part i would not tell a friend to send there kids here. The constant bullying by the staff children is a very hard thing to look past because of the extensive amount of time this has been goin on and the ignored complaints. I have been working in childcare for 23 years. I have been working in childcare centers for twelve of those years. Throughout all of my dedicated years working with children i have never seen a center so poorly ran. The center is at most the worst I've seen in communication and socail interactions with children! not the family. Sounds wierd right? Please let me explain. I have seen staff members lift children and drag them out of the classroom by thier arm with the xhild kicking and screaming to let them go. Staff memebers would hold children in thier arm and yell down the hallway at other staff members. The director does not seem to do much about this problem, because I've seen this behavior on more than one occasion. I have seen other reviews on this center and they seem to be pretty accurate. The rooms a very chaotic and the children have lot of injuries on a daily bases seemingly. There one was a incident were a two year old boy climed over the fence in the playground and got out onto the street. For those of you who don't know where this center is located exactly. The street that the child ran onto Hillcrest is a very busy street. The boy was kicked out of the school for behavior problems. The teacher's were not punished at all! The assistant director stay in the infant room for most of the day with her daughter. No one is ever really running the center. It's like a circus. Teachers a really rude to the children and the toddler teacher stays on her cell phone. This center has a history of being pooorly ran and they seem to stick with the flow. read more

I am a youg father and i am not originally from this country. My two young daughters attended this school. This was one of the worst experiences that my family has had thus far. My daughter's has told my concerning situations that took place at that took place in tha classroom. There is a child that attends this school who's mother happens to one of the teachers that works there. There has been wooden block and chairs thrown at my daughter by this child. I spoke with the teachers and the director about this situation and they informed me that the problem will be taken care of and that they were sorry about it. Well a few weeks later my daughter told me that there were very disturbing situations where the other teacher's would have to take her from the classroom because her temper tantrums were so bad that they felt the other kids were in danger. This situation seemed to take place on more than one occasion. There was also a bullying problem were the same child was involved harming other children and still being alowed back in the classroom. My family and i have never had an experience like this before. I immediately took my daughters from the school. I would no recommend this school to anyone searching for a good and safe place to take your children. I am very disappointed. I'm frantic to tell other parents and freinds about this school. We've been with KinderCare Hillcrest for the past two years, and honestly, it's been such a great experience that I felt like I had to leave a review as we're moving away. I know daycares can get a bad rap sometimes, but this place has been the exact opposite. Both our infant and toddler have been in their care, and we've felt nothing but supported, seen, and cared for every step of the way. The teachers and directors are amazing--you can tell they truly love what they do. They've treated our kids like their own, and always made us feel like part of the family. Our kids have learned so much, had so much fun, and we've always felt confident dropping them off every morning. It's so hard to leave a place that's been such a big part of our lives. KinderCare really is as good as it gets in my opinion. I went through varies, in home day cares as well as centers, none of which my child enjoyed. Once she started KinderCare she thrived, she doesnt even care that I leave her anymore, shes just so excited to get to her class everyday. Shes grown so much since entering KinderCare. My son started in the infant room at just 8 weeks and I wouldnt have trusted leaving him anywhere else. KinderCare has a very loving staff, who truly cares for the children they teach and care for everyday. I'd recommend KinderCare to anyone! read more

There is no curriculum to follow at this school. My child is behind in the learning curve. There is nothing new that I notice she can do or say. All the other kids my daughters age are further than her on that curve. I feel bad and embarrassed . My child is in the toddler classroom, and just because she's young does not mean she can't learn things. They don't even effectively read to the kids. I've seen them. They just go through the books as fast as they can. read more
