It is scenic, a great location, ample parking on site or nearby, but more often than not the gate is locked and they are closed. They have been hosting seasonal events lately - a scarecrow festival, a wreath making day this weekend - but they seem to have a scaled down volunteer staff to coincide with the limited hours. Facing West, I hear that the sunset view in the evening is often beautiful and along the drive on the way up are strategically placed park benches that we noticed for sitting and watching. When we looked in the other direction, we could see the peak of Roxy Ann, a local landmark. We did not use the trail system this day as we were just on a casual sight seeing of the area. There are great opportunities for group photos up here as well as the landscape. The attached website from the city park system has all the trails and visit details. I do know that our local hosts hike it regularly with their active dog and kids. It might be a bit much for me at this point but not for most visitors. The area is rather steep but mostly grassland with an occasional tree. Heed warnings for lack of shade and heat in the summer. But visit it any way that you can.

Once in Medford, everyone was telling us to go to Jacksonville, Oregon to look at the historic building and all the fun things to do there. We redirected there, it was only about a 15 min drive to Jacksonville. The downtown area was very cute, we saw a farmers market type event setup at City Hall. We parked and walked over to check out all the things the different booths were selling. We saw lots of unique things there like woodcarvings, pictures & paintings and even some food and drinks. After a short time we continued driving through all the neighborhoods, enjoying the different types of old homes.

Sit outside and enjoy a nice glass of wine. Or sample a flight, while sitting outside and soaking up the vineyard and surrounding beauty. Both visits yielded polite and professional staff who understands wine and is also very friendly. If you like wine, you should absolutely give this place your business. I wish I had photos to share, but was enjoying my glass of wine and conversation enough that I forgot to pull out my phone!
