This is the 2nd time going to this location. It's been years since I went. The tour was a little smaller, smaller location to roam and the known things like the standing broom was not included in the tour. It was a hot day and I'm sure everyone was overheated. They have porta potties outside of check in area. Things to know: Bring your own golf ball to test one of the guides theory. Bring comfortable clothes and walking shoes. The location has a few souvenirs and drinks for sale in the check in area. Discount for veterans and first responders. Overall great experience and would recommend. Oregon's version of the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz CA I've only been to the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz once over 10 years ago in June 2013 and this experience at the Oregon Vortex was pretty much the same. Max was a very informative tour guide and was great in explaining the history and the "unexplainable" with plenty of exhibits detailing defying the laws of gravity. He asked for volunteers (children and adults) on some of his illustrations like for the height illusions as well as use props like a broom, a measuring tape and a leveler. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. The place is located off the beaten path. From N River Rd/Second Ave as we entered Sardine Creek Rd was another 4-1/2 miles to the attraction itself. Parking is free. Admission price is expensive (I can't remember, I think $20/ea or close to it). Discounts were given if you're a AAA member or military personnel. Mystery Spot in California is half at $10. Anyway, the property is small. This is definitely one of Oregon's oldest and most original examples of Roadside America. 3.5 Stars Review #3264 read more

This place is super fun! We've been there several times as we live nearby, and believe in the "magic" of this tourist attraction. We like taking visitors to the Vortex, especially the skeptics. My husband's first visit was in the early 60's when he was 10 and even now he enjoys himself. The tour guides are very knowledgeable. Once when we took pictures with a camera, the developed photos came back with some mysterious anomalies ... You've got to experience the Oregon Vortex and see the gravity defying examples for yourself! read more

My son is a fan of Gravity Falls, and the Oregon Vortex and House of Mystery is the reason we started planning a trip to Oregon! The place is off the beaten path but worth the drive. The place is smaller than I anticipated, but it made for just the right amount of time for a guided tour and a browse in the shop before hitting the road again. The guided tour was reasonably priced, and our guide was a cute, quirky spitfire that made the experience even more memorable. Plus, she quickly identified my son as a Gravity Falls super fan and dubbed him with the moniker "Gravity Falls" and shared some cool fan memorabilia with him, making it a special experience for my son. I would recommend this as a pit stop off of the 5 for anyone road tripping around Oregon. read more

As far a the vortex it was very cool and fun experience, good for all ages! But the tour guide was terrible, first off he was very sarcastic and it was just annoying. For $13.50 a person would you pay to watch someone do the trick where they 'remove' their thumb? Probably not right? Well welcome to the equivalent of that. This vortex is just mildly more interesting than watch the water flush down your toilet (also a vortex technically). The optical allusions are either blatantly false, or you just can't tell what is going on at all. We were told that this vortex will bend measuring sticks apparently? That they make us a different height? Something along those lines. Other than that all the little kids had a blast. The tour guide was nice, and really sold it well. Over all if you have tons of little ones and you need them to be entertained as you sneak wine out of a pepsi can, this is the perfect place! read more

$13 and a 45 minute guided tour to experience optical illusions? Not worth it. Also if you show up after another tour has left you're forced to wait until the guide is done. Looks pretty simple to me, should be self-guided and a bit cheaper, look to make your money on souvenirs instead. read more

As we walked into the entrance there was a lady with her shirt up feeding her baby. Come to find out it was our guide. The prices were high. We were not told that my 91 mother would not be able to go into the house. Just that there was a lot of walking which was not true. My mom sat on a bench waiting for us. No refund offered. The guide was very good except for her children (2) one should have been left at home. She kept distracting her mother. It was a very interesting education. They need to be more professional if they want to be taken seriously . read more
