Never am I more thankful for a business as when I am in need of a service during a difficult time, either for myself or for a loved one. There is so much already on your plate and to have something taken care of so effortlessly means so much. When sending flowers, I like to order from a florist local to the recipient, and I either do so over the phone or using their website online ordering system. This way I can be sure a local small business gets my money. This time around, Hillside Floral seemed to have the best reviews and the services required. I wanted the flowers to be delivered first thing on a Monday morning, so I used the online ordering system instead of calling, assuming they would be closed on Sunday when I was placing the order. Either way, it worked out perfectly. Their website was easy to use and they had just what I was looking for, at a more than reasonable price. Monday morning the flowers arranged in their vase just so were delivered at the correct time, and the dear friend I was sending them to loved them. I chose an arrangement with a variety of flowers and colors, orange, yellow, greens, pinks, reminiscent of a sunrise. My friend also loves fire bright daylilies, which were included in this arrangement too. A few had already bloomed, but some were yet to bloom, so I know that my friend will have flowers just that much longer. This was everything I wanted in a time where I really needed things to go exactly right. This just happened so I am being vague on purpose, but this was a sympathy related service. This has been my UT goto florist for decades. They are always helpful and their flowers are beautiful.

I was disappointed when I asked for the care for the plant arrangement that was ordered to come to me from a family friend who lives in Maryland. It is a plant arrangement that was sent to me after my mother passed away. The plants were healthy, but the representative could not tell me how to care for them. Melanie said that she would send me the instructions last week vis email. I sent her an image of the arrangement. When I did not see the instructions the following week, I called again and she said she would research for the care instructions and email me the instructions so that I can have them taken care of. I am still waiting. Presently, I am working outside of Utah, in another state and was going to have a relative take care of the plants for me. We are still waiting. I appreciate employees who have some knowledge about the products of the business (in this case plants/flowers) or can at least ask a different employee who knows more about the care. There was no insert stating what type of plants they were. I know that one is an ivy. May 2 is a very special day for my family and my mom. Unfortunately, this special day snuck up on me. I called hillside floral in a panic at about 2 pm. (This was my last ditch effort, as all the online flower deliveries were closed to orders for the day) The woman I spoke with at hillside (wish I could remember her name) was so accommodating and kind, she said that they could have the flowers to my moms work by 4:30. My mom received her flowers a little after 4 with a special note from all of us. You have no idea how this made her day, she told me it was a hard day for her and this was exactly what she needed. Amanda & Nikki who work for you are amazing When I made my order, Nikki noticed I'd ordered a stuffed animal with the order and as it was for a sympathy boquet she called to make sure I knew you had only children style animals but also offered Willow statues so I asked her to select one she would like to receive. When Amanda was set to deliver flowers on Saturday to my friends who lost their father and as she saw the weather was too hot to deliver, she contacted me and went out of her way to deliver them on Sunday when they were home instead. The recipients were so pleased with the order they said they were the prettiest flowers they'd ever seen and wept at the Willow statue selected for their order. The description said it would include "Festive Christmas greens, red berries and holly mix with red roses and pinecones below glowing red candles for a stunning centerpiece worthy of your celebration." My friend received a spindly arrangement without roses, holly, or pinecones. I called the shop to complain and the manager graciously agreed to send a replacement, with no other instruction. It was somewhat better. Then my friend got a call asking her to bring the first piece back to the store.
