Khakh (aka Dr. MD) has always been very knowledgeable and caring during all exams. I am not sure what people are complaining about here. Is it the prices? I have had to deal with many veterinarians over the years and Napa Valley Animal Hospital has pricing that is set similar to standard pricing. Yes, sometimes a visit can become expensive if there is physical exam, lab work, antibiotics, etc, but it depends on the nature of the visit. I have found Napa Valley Animal to be really good in service and care.

We took our dog, a 3-year-old Labrador, to this vet a few times in 2022 because it was close to home. He had started having seizures, which was absolutely terrifying for us as first-time dog owners and first-time owners of a dog with seizures. Unfortunately, the veterinarian we saw (I believe his name was Dr. M.D.) was very dismissive and not comforting at all during an extremely stressful time. My memory is a bit vague now, but I clearly remember being extremely distraught during a phone conversation where euthanasia was mentioned as a possibility. That conversation still bothers me to this day. Thankfully, that never happened, and looking back, I truly don't understand why it was even brought up in the way it was. On top of that, this clinic felt like a major money grab. We were required to pay every single month just for a written prescription (literally a piece of paper) in order to refill our dog's seizure medication--on top of paying for the medication itself. I understand paying for medication, of course, but charging repeatedly for the prescription itself felt excessive. Our current vet does not do this, which really highlighted how unreasonable it felt in hindsight. We have since switched to a different veterinarian and are extremely happy. The difference in care, compassion, and professionalism has been night and day. Overall, our experience here was very disappointing--unempathetic staff, poor communication, and unnecessary costs during an already emotional and difficult time. I truly hope this review helps someone else make an informed decision for their pet.

His prices are about lowest in GTA (I wish it stays this way). He had saved my puppy from unnecessary intestine surgery that was pushed on me by another veterinarian clinic by simply diagnosing salmonella infection and giving him antibiotics. Puppy was good in 2 hours! He had removed half of bad teeth of my 13 yo cat, and the cat was purring and feeling happy in several hours after surgery. Cannot say one bad word about this clinic.

We've always known our rescue pup's oral hygiene to be poor, so we were expecting the bill to be around $1,000 (17lb small bichon frise). We were really pleased by how professional the doctor and team were, and were very glad that the vet tech gave us a call first to ensure we were in agreement with the extractions based on the situation of our pup (stage 3 periodontitis). I really appreciated that personal touch, because the team was patient with answering all my questions; putting my mind at ease. In the end, the bill came up to be a little bit over $800 along with medication and a post surgery follow-up which was better than I had expected. Our pup recovered in no time and healed quite well with no complications. All that to say, I will most certainly be recommending this clinic to all my friends even if it was a bit of a drive from where I lived.

DO NOT let this vet perform any major surgeries in your pet…read more We made a huge mistake of allowing vet Israel Arteaga to perform major surgery in our cat, on 30 January, 2025. After 4 days from the surgery, our cat started to suffer from immobility without peeing/ pooping/ and the cat refused to eat/drink during these times. We brought the cat for the second time to identify the possible reasons for her suffering. He advised us to make a blood check and X Rays which he didn't give us any reason why she suffers. 2 Days Later than this, we had to bring our cat for another check as her condition was declining over time. And during our vet visit, one employee advised us to apply for funding which we were approved for. Over the weekend, Israel Arteaga rushed to the hospital to take 10 X-rays which our cat didn't need just to use funding from the Farley foundation. Instead of covering our outstanding bill, he used an amount of 1500 for extra activities which our CAT didn't need at all. He didn't advise any of these amounts of xray and he didn't approve any of this with us. Reported to Farley Foundation for misuse of funding. I never met any MONEY OBSESSED person before like this vet. We took our cat on Monday and he said he doesn't know what is the reason for her suffering, as he always assumed the possible reasons rather than fact... He advised us to visit another VET which we did. When we shared our X ray pictures with another VET, she identified that WRONG Implementation of Catheter could possibly put her internal organs in trauma.. After that we understood why he decided not to cure our cat, because his wrong treatments and assumptions made our cat suffer. I am in so much pain, as we had to let our beloved cat go. Reading these negative reviews is concerning, but we need to remember that people mostly post when they have had a negative experience and don't for the positive ones.

We had been living in Scarborough at the time so took him to a different clinic. But my husband is familiar with The Seneca Animal Clinic as he's had several animals under their care during his life. His vet Dr. Yearwood has always been kind, compassionate, knowledgable & informative. I would second my hubby's review of Dr. Yearwood. When we adopted our second cat we took him to Dr. Yearwood to be checked out. He was very good with our cat . And our cat seemed to like him as well. The clinic is clean, bright, & the staff have always been cheerful & courteous. Fees for things such as testing samples are a reasonable price. On a side note, I wouldn't go with the food recommendations he made for our cat, however. The special cat food he recommended doesn't match what I've read on cat nutrition. I've read many books now on cat nutrition & while I'm not an expert, I can see the results of the food we're feeding our cat as opposed to what he always used to eat. But from what I gather, all vets are trained to recommend the manufactured food by companies like Iams, etc. The problem is that large pet food manufacturers sponsor programs at vet schools. So they're led to believe this is healthy food for your cat or dog. Do the research & check it out. Don't just feed your animal the cheapest food you can get but the best food you can afford. Even making your own cat or dog food is healthier.

I am my Lucy's 4th home, but when I got her I was assured she hadn't been spayed. After putting her under anesthetic, the vet called me and told me they were sure she had been spayed already based on a scar she had on her underside. I told them I didn't know what to do. They offered me the opportunity to do a "free" ultrasound because there was a tech there that day. But because he was only a tech, I wouldn' t be able to legally hold up his ultrasound reading at a later time. After this "ultrasound", the vet called back and told me, Lucy had no uterus or ovaries. and they were 99% sure she had been spayed. but they could not say 100% AND it would be cruel if I told them to cut her open anyways and go on with the surgery and they highly advised against it. They also were rushing me to make a decision on this.... As these were the educated professionals, of course, I listened to them and didn't go on with surgery. They still charged me for the anesthesia. When my dog was 16 months old, I woke up one morning to my bed being covered in blood - my now damaged $400 weighted blanket. Lucy had gone into full heat. We called Animal Seneca Clinic. They said "this is rare but it happens. sometimes, a small part of the ovary can be left in after a "bad" spay and cause a dog to still go into heat. and since we told you we were only 99% sure she was spayed, there is nothing we can do for you. We will not be reimbursing you for any costs you endured with us or during her spay" It was not a fun two weeks for me or Lucy and not what I had wanted for my dog. Lucy was spayed yesterday. Thankfully, had a very safe spay with our since current and amazing vet Spinks vet. and guess what - Lucy was FULLY in tact! She had a full uterus and both whole ovaries. I was told that at 6 months, you are able to see the ovaries and uterus through an ultrasound and a dog must have their full uterus to go into full heat. FURTHERMORE, the scar on Lucy's underbelly is on her groin, not stomach - where spaying surgery takes place. And we were told her scar looks more like a scratch This is unfortunate it happened. And it is what it is now. Lucy is doing well which I am so grateful for. I think Seneca Animal Clinic showed a lot of negligence and I don't believe they dutifully took full responsibility in handling the best care for Lucy from the time of first bringing her in. I am not really sure what truthfully happened during her stay with Animal Seneca Clinic, but it definitely does not add up and I am very disappointed by how they handled it all. Make sure you are always getting second opinions on your beloved animals!
