They have childcare & youth services so the kids are learning at the appropriate speed & at their levels of understanding. The main church is never boring & the praise band is phenomenal with the selection of songs that really set the mood to receive God's word. Pastor Dave is amazing. He's a wonderful speaker & he's relatable so when he's giving the sermon of the day you understand & leave feeling like you gained some insight into Jesus' word. If I could give more stars I would. Every staff member is incredibly dedicated. Dave Resinger, the pastor is personable, real, and approachable. Miguel the Worship Pastor plays great music and has an amazing team to put on a great performance each Sunday. They host a community dinner in Woodbrook on the third Friday of every month and just love on the community. It is a feel good place that really makes its members feel like they are supporting the community and moving towards Jesus. Marriage mentors are available, Life Groups help members get more intimately connected and go further in the Word. Candace and Michael are two hard working staff members that go to great length to support the church and make things happen. Dory overseas the GoHub in Woodbrook which supports the neighborhood there. These are good people who have a real mission to be more like Jesus and are well aware that they are human and flawed with the rest of us. The Church does a good job of being mission oriented and there isn't the social clique or hierarchy that seems present at some churches. It really is just good people getting together to serve and love one another.

Never have we felt out of place, we instantly felt right at home. Since the pandemic we are very fortunate to be able to catch his sermon online! I wasn't looking to join Northwest initially, but was invited by a long time Family friend. I was very impressed by the Lead Pastor Ben Dixon who is not only a fantastic speaker, but often shares his vulnerabilities when preaching, which is something I appreciate and encourages me that even the pastor has struggled, but he shares how he's overcome! This is one of the most genuine Churches I've ever attended. They have a real heart for Jesus and for helping their community. There aren't enough good things I can say about Northwest. The only challenge is that it's a fairly large Church, so if you want to get to know people, you will need to get involved. After joining the Church you can volunteer, or participate in one of the many opportunities such as Marriage classes, freedom in Christ, Outreach & missionary etc. Once I volunteered to be a Counselor at their kids camp, I started to know more people and that helped me greatly. I had been attending for over a year at that point, and hadn't made many friends. I hope this helps you make your decision to visit or give it a try, you'll be glad you did!

They have a lot of compassion for the less-fortunate, and even serve free hot meals on Mondays. The really show they care. Not just a hot meal, but they offer a small food bank, free bread, and even a clothing bank! I love their bands they use! What blew me away was how awesome their teen band was! They are very, very impressive and they sing great too! They rotate different Pastors so you don't get the same one every week. I like that sometimes. But all of them are great! And funny sometimes! This church gets packed, so you might want to show up early if you want to be assured a parking spot or a seat. The cool thing is that if you are here for the first time, like maybe to check it out, they have visitor parking for first-timers! The only thing I used to think (and joke about) was it seemed they had "spies" who kept watch on the visitor spots so they could be sure to welcome them at the door! Nope, I was wrong... they do this to EVERYONE! You WILL feel welcomed and loved at Rainier View! They also have a lot of small groups, like a men's group, women's group, youth group, recovery group and even a singles group! Something for everyone! Not a lot more I can say about Rainier View except that you WILL love this church! By the way, they sing contemporary praise songs NOT out of hymnals, and NO speaking in tongues here (a concern of mine and I don't like hearing) so I really feel comfortable here! They offer free coffee and cookies in the foyer, but for those who desire more, they even have an espresso bar right there in the lobby! Oh my gosh! Back in 2006 I was diagnosed with a very major illness requiring me to stop working and have surgery within a month! It was an ER doctor who faxed a stop work order to my employer! Well, needless to say, I suddenly had no income and had no way to pay my upcoming rent nor my phone and power bills. I was forced to contact LOVE Inc, who called me saying they found a church who was going to pay 2 months of my power bill PLUS one month of my rent. But when they told me it was Rainier View, I almost started crying. This was my church, but they didn't know me because I've always been one of those quiet ones who tend to sit alone in the back row. I personally went in as soon as I was back on my feet after recovering from my surgery and thanked them and introduced myself as the person they helped. It was so nice of them, and I felt a need to thank them. The Lord certainly made sure there was a church big enough to fit all those who want to worship Him, then He blessed them all with very warm and loving hearts. God Bless you, RVCC! I decided I wanted to show people who don't go to New Life how great it is! (; I think I started coming to NLC around end of summer-ish. I grew up going to church in Tacoma basically my whole life which means I have heard of NLC but always went somewhere else. I thought I would see a lot of familiar faces (this is after I got back from my 1.2 years in California). Not really... surprisingly. Wow it has been almost half a year already and I am so thankful for all the people I have met here. I know it was God who placed me at NLC after I felt alone and abandoned(; I grew closer to Christ with the help of my lovely friends at church! I was so happy to see how bright everyone was shining from their love for God. I really like the pastor's sermons too! I grew up listening to sermons.. that went through one ear out the other. But here, every Sunday I whip out my phone and take some meaningful notes. Later throughout that week or month, I scroll through and I think, "oh wow! That's perfect timing to read this message again". To whomever sees this from New Life Church, I just want to thank you all for making me feel welcome and at home(;

They have recently brought in a young pastor whose has a way of explaining bible passages so I can understand them. I have spoken to him personally and he is very accessible and easy to talk to with.
