I've been here four or five times on a Sunday, and I always enjoy it.
My grandparents love it. They sit, cooing over each other like innocent sixteen year olds, splitting half a toasted teacake and a pot of tea. My nana isn't very well, and so this place is quite perfect for her on trips out from the nursing home.
The walls are a cheerful yellow, it isn't extremely packed or noisy, the cakes are homemade and unapologetically stolen from Delia Smith's classic cake book and quite glorious for elevenses.
I do realise that some people go to a garden centre for the plants, and not just the tearoom, and so I'd also like to say that they have very lovely plants and flowers. And chutneys, and garden furniture. And the prices are a lot better than the other garden centres nearby. read more
