The walls are a cheerful yellow, it isn't extremely packed or noisy, the cakes are homemade and unapologetically stolen from Delia Smith's classic cake book and quite glorious for elevenses. I do realise that some people go to a garden centre for the plants, and not just the tearoom, and so I'd also like to say that they have very lovely plants and flowers. And chutneys, and garden furniture. And the prices are a lot better than the other garden centres nearby.

Please just the sandwich and lower your prices. The staff are not particularly friendly (in the café) which is off putting' However, the staff in the garden centre I have always found very helpful.

They are reknown for their Christmas Displays with themed rooms fully decorated. They have a lovely tea room which gets very busy - so allow plenty of time if you are eating there. Jacket Potatoes, Homemade Soups, Sandwiches and Hot meals are all available as well as scrumptious cakes and biscuits. Well worth a visit but it can be pricey.

There is no distancing lines for customers to follow and the signs that are up are hard to spot. Now it is tired and lacking care, all the more obvious from the COVID pandemic. If it wasn't for Swallow Aquatics, who's staff are excellent and really knowledgeable I wouldn't come here any more. We first went into the gardens and it was very peaceful with a number of small ponds surrounded by well manicured lawns, trees, and a lot of borders with interesting grasses. At the end of the gardens is a woodland, more ponds and a lot of ducks and fish. I think the silence is a treasure in these sort of places. There is a small shop that leads to the nursery and next door is a cafe. You can see it all except the gardens for free. Overall, I think its a nice place to visit for peace and quiet.

Stock levels on larger items can be inaccurate on the website, but this can be rectified by simply enquiring in store. In all, a very good DIY store that has ample parking and facilities.
