We took, Yogi, our 9 1/2 year old Goldendoodle for his annual vet appt yesterday. He was a puppy from Molly and Noah's litter at Hilltop pups, born 8/27/13. He has been the best dog I've ever had. Couldn't ask for a better temperament. I just wanted to let you know the results from his exam and bloodwork. His vet says all his joints are in great shape, and he has a really nice low resting heart rate. She also says he has a remarkable set of lab results. Everything was perfect and in fact, impressive for an older dog, more like a dog half his age. I really just wanted to let you know how great he is doing and that we appreciate all the hard work you put into raising healthy dogs. We have only had our Hilltop puppy for two days, but it already feels like two months! She has been eating her food regularly & loves your food suggestions. My daughter has her on a schedule for going outside, and she has adjusted well. The first night she woke up every three hours & last night every four. She is gradually getting used to her crate. My daughter has named her Kaia. She is so smart that she already knows her name! We keep saying how smart & how well behaved she is (as well as being perfectly adorable). We were seeking a second Goldendoodle to be a little sister to our 4 year old Goldy. We found Hilltop Pups and this aspiration was realized. sDixie, now JoJo was born at about 1 pound. She is now 12 weeks and 5 pounds. Although she has been home with us for one month, we feel like we have somewhat known since birth. This is because of the wonderful weekly video documentation shared by Bev Eckert at Hilltop. We saw JoJo and her siblings play and interact several times before I flew out from Philadelphia to bring her home. She is a very sweet puppy and by the fourth night she slept nonstop for eight hours in her crate. The challenge when getting a puppy is making sure that the seller is the breeder. And that the Breeder takes good care in raiding the pups. Puppies are poor story tellers of their experiences before they come home so There seem to be a lot of shenanigans going on ou there in the puppy business. They can only speak through their mood, temperament and behavior. I really investigated and rejected many puppy sellers who did not pass my smell test in that it seemed that the whole truth about the operation was missing. With Bev at Hilltop pups, I felt that the operation was authentic. All facts and observations remained consistent up until my pick up visit. The deposit and price were reasonable . No hanky panky. JoJo even came home chipped which I find extraordinary. Our puppy is a very sweet beauty with an even and calm temperament. We feel lucky that she has joined our family. Hilltop pups goes above and beyond other breeders in my opinion. The facility is clean and all the puppies and adult dogs are well taken care of. The owners live right on property and the property has a good amount of land for the dogs to run around and play. We picked up our English Goldendoodle puppy last weekend and he has been amazing. He's so calm and sweet and has been picking up so easily with his training. My vet was in awe with how he just sat so calmly and allowed her to examine him, clean his ears and eyes and give him his vaccinations without a fuss. Bev and her family at Hilltop do a great job with handling all the puppies so that when you get your dog they are calm and already well mannered for a pup that age. We are just about to celebrate our one year gotcha day for our Harry. We couldn't ask for a better dog. He's beautiful, smart, and loving. He's great with kids and other dogs. Today our doggie daycare informed us that they had him playing with a daschund puppy because they knew that he would be gentle. We gifted a littermate to my parents. She, too, is a great puppy. We keep toying with the idea of another dog. Naturally we will be going with Hilltop and another perfect doodle! UPDATE: Harry just spent the weekend with my 15 month old niece. I have put off writing this, and wish I could post anonymously because I know the repercussions of posting here, but I believe future owners should be aware of the risks. I completely agree with Julia's December review. The rate of hilltop pups going home with Giardia is VERY high. Our puppy had severe giardia for months. (The breeder did reimburse me for my vet bills, but it only covered a fraction of the cost of dealing with the issue - which was absolutely not easily curable). Our girl is now 9 months old and has had GI issues all 9 months of her life. We have tried everything. She also has severe separation anxiety, which we are working with a specialist to solve, and who believes it is genetic and that others in her litter likely have it. Separation anxiety is one of the hardest things I've ever dealt with. Of course, we love our dog more than anything. But we paid a lot for our girl, and the time and money and effort spent to get her healthy has been constant and overwhelming. It breaks my heart to watch others pay top dollar for dogs that I know will be sick. I wish I had been aware before I chose a breeder. I much prefer a smaller breeder with more attention and care for each dog. I wouldn't trade my dog for the world, but I cannot recommend Hilltop Pups. Quick update based on the breeders response: i am not the person who called Bev as she mentioned. I also am NOT hard pressed to find other sick pups, I've found MANY. I also have seen others post on the owner Facebook group about separation anxiety. read more

Communication is sorely lacking--especially via email. Do not expect an immediate response--and sometimes you'll get no response at all. Also, what is not emphasized is that there are many dogs on the property used for breeding. They are kept in sheltered kennels and are not abused or mistreated in any way, but they are used for the business only and cannot possibly receive all of the attention they need or crave as dogs meant to be pets. All in all, this is a clean, healthy operation. If that's all you are looking for, it's fine and will work well for you. The puppies are 5 months old now and are just the cutest, smartest, calmest dogs I've ever had - love them! Only warning is that they're a little too smart - learned how to operate their playpen's zippers from the inside! Invest in a few carabiners to keep them inside their pens :). The pups are amazing, but they all come with giardia-a parasite. Lots of her people are diehard supporters and have amazing dogs-no doubt about it. If you're looking for a loving fun excited family Dog-you'll get that here. If you want a communicative Breeder and a healthy puppy in the process, then this isn't the best. Again, adore my dog, but treating the parasites was a pain. Any person on here giving five stars still had to deal with parasites. But most people will say kind things because an amazing pup is worth it. She has a ton of dogs-take that as good or bad it means lots of options but less attention to each. Ultimately I'm so glad my dogs mine, but doodles are too expensive to settle for one that comes with worms. FYI: after I posted this, the breeder posted in her Facebook group saying "can you all please post that not all my dogs have Giardia?"-that is why you will see many extra reviews around Feb 20-25, 2018-check the dates-suspicious maybe? read more

Cooper, aka Marty, (Millie and Skipper) came home with us on January 22nd. We traveled an almost 5 hour ride from Hilltop Pups to our home and the trip was wonderful. He slept in his carrier and our grandson talked to him and watched him the whole way. On his first vet visit on January 25th he weighted 5.7 lbs. and on February 22nd he weighted in at 8.5 lbs. Cooper has been training here at home with Baxter & Bella and will start puppy kindergarten on March 8th for socialization and more training. He is a great puppy, sleeps in his carrier all night without needing to go outside for a potty break since his third day with us. Doing well with the bell, eating well, excited to train with kibble, and loves to cuddle. Sits quietly in his car seat when going on rides with us. I joined a goldendoodle group and saw a picture of Mabel, Cooper's sister on Facebook and had a conversation regarding the siblings. We plan to keep in touch as the puppies grow. We are so happy that we found Hilltop Pups and it really shows that Bev cares about her dogs and the puppies they have. We got our Nala from Hilltop Pups about 2 years ago. She has been amazing, very smart, doesn't shed (Multi-Gen), exactly what we thought we were getting when I drove 4 hrs (8 hrs round trip) to get her. Couldn't have asked for a better dog. She is great with my little kid (3 at the time) and so smart. Picks up commands quickly, and easy to potty train with the bell provided by Hill Top. No issues medically at all. Bev has been awesome to work with. Her knowledge and love of the dogs is amazing. During our visits we have met with different parent doggies and they were always clean and so loving. It's obvious that she spends a great deal of time with them by how even with new people there playing with them that they look to see that she's still there. It's easy to see that they love her as much as she loves them. We did a great deal of research before choosing to get a puppy from Hilltop. For us she was our only choice. We wanted a puppy that we knew was coming from a loving and caring home that puts in the extra work like having the parents tested and early stimulation and socializing. Bev didn't raise the bar for other breeders she sets the bar. From our interactions it's clear to see she's not another person breeding for the money, but for the love of the dogs and the breed.
