The centre itself was well laid out and practical, resembling a large bungalow; several rooms which were fitted out as various play areas of different descriptions, a main reception and seating area with a kitchen off it inside the main door, and a group of offices on the other side of the building where the various staff members and support workers were based. Very practical, colourful and well laid out place. However, the one major negative thing about this centre - and the thing which prevents it from getting 5 stars here - was the frequent professional misconduct of the manager of Barnardo's DFST, a certain Dave Anderson. Under Dave Anderson, Barnardo's Dundee Family Support Team was very badly run behind the scenes, with a rampant internal blame culture; many excellent staff and support workers were unfairly blamed for innocuous incidents or misunderstandings and wrongfully dismissed from their jobs over time, with twisted cover stories being manufactured to justify their mistreatment and defame their character at the same time. In addition, job interviews and recruitments often seemed rigged, with Mr Anderson often not giving due consideration to the skills and talents of some applicants. In particular, one talented volunteer who will remain nameless put in 6 years of excellent volunteering work for Barnardo's, but was frequently passed over for promotion to paid positions within the Project, then got falsely accused of "unhealthy thinking" and advised to take a break from volunteering for a year and obtain a medical all-clear from his GP on returning, just because the volunteer had Dyspraxia and displayed Dyspraxic thought processes, which Mr Anderson judged in a thoroughly bigoted manner. The only one guilty of unhealthy thinking there was Dave Anderson himself, who disgracefully labelled a learning disability an "illness", thus proving his own inability to do his job, either as a manager at Barnardo's or as a social worker. It's pretty clear that his repeated mismanagement and professional misconduct were also responsible for the Project's eventual closure in 2014; a sad way for it to go.

We been traveling for some time and needed to get some clothes cleaned here in St. Andrews. While…read morethe place we rented had a small washer/dryer under the counter, our experience has been poor. They take a long time to wash and even longer to dry. Since we didn't want to spend an afternoon (an evening) at home, we gave this laundry service a call. It didn't have any reviews in yelp but the owner of the flat we were renting left there name in the Home instructions. Drove over and found them in a residential area of town. The place was small the clothes were in bags out the door and all the washers were going. Didn't have high expectations and was really disappointed when they said it would take two days to get the clothes back. However, when I mentioned where we were staying they instantly said they not only could do our laundry that day but deliver it to our flat before 5. ( They must do the laundry for the owners of this rental) The price was 15 pounds for one large dark load and one white load. Pretty reasonable. Sure enough they had everything back to us just before 5pm all clean and folded and wrapped in plastic. In my book they went from one star to 5 stars. Don't judge the book by its cover.

However, as the only place in St Andrews now that Woolworths has gone to buy any form of sewing materials it is certainly necessary for that. They offer a range of services - tailoring, personalising clothing (especially good for society clothing), ribbon finding and any other form of sewing equipment. The staff are usually friendly and it is fairly reasonably priced, especially since they have the only store of the kind in St Andrews and so could legitimately charge what they like!

They are located in the big huge white building next to the swimming, its called tayside house. it is located in the city centre of dundee, and is close to many bus rotes to and from dundee and surrounding areas.

This bridge brings you to the top of the hill with some beautiful views over the River Tay and very attractive Victorian gravestones. It's very peaceful and pretty and would make for an excellent final resting place. This is a popular place for dog walkers but remember to keep them on a lead! There are public toilets near the Glamis Road roundabout entrance.

Mountains Animal Sanctuary

A great charity that rescues and re-homes abandoned, abused and ill horses, donkeys and ponies in a…read morebeautifully verdant, peaceful location. Visitors can tour the sanctuary and buy items from their shop, the proceeds of which support the charity, or attend special events they hold periodically. Visiting hours are very limited, so it's best to call or check the website before you go. The sanctuary is a nice place to stop if you're in the area rambling through the Highlands. I've stopped by several times while out walking just to watch the horses and donkeys in the fields, some of which will come over to give you a sniff and let you pet them.
