I ate at the in-house restaurant. The bartenders name was Sarah. She turned a mediocre hamburger into a great dining experience with her kindness and her attentiveness. Updating my review from 2025 and modifying from a previous 5 star to 3 star, based on this recent visit. It's unfortunate because I had such a great experience last time, which is why I chose to stay at this location again in 2026 but I found it to be a far more "muted" experience this time. Upon check in, I was not greeted as a gold status member. I was not offered a welcome snack like last time. The peloton in my room was missing hand weights, which I specifically was looking forward to using. The bathroom tub had hair from either from housekeeping or the previous guest. I ended up calling the front desk late one night because of a significant noise disturbance from the room below me. The staff member did not initiate/offer looking into the noise complaint until I specifically asked them to - that was disappointing. I had hoped they would take more initiative to "make things right." Because the bar was set so high last time, I found these combination of events disappointing and unfortunately dampened my impression of this location. read more

they tried to charge me a $75 "pet fee" for my service dog. the "manager " who refused to give me his name , was extremely condescending and rude to me after i called to dispute the charge, obviously, they do not know the laws pertaining to people with disabilities and service dogs. if you are a permanent and totally disabled Vet, with a service dog, you are too low class to stay at this hotel. I will be filing an ADA complaint, as the fine from them is $75000- $150000, I get the feeling that this would not be the first time that they have had a complaint about this. this manager and the rude kid at the front desk do not deserve to have a job dealing with the public. read more

Surprised by the bad reviews here. I was here in June of 2025 and stayed in room 103 on the first floor. Pool was indoors and big and no one was there. Jacuzzi also empty. Workout room TINY. i didn't use either. Hotel bar closed at 8 or 9 pending how busy it is. Thumbs down. Grocery Store across the way I drove to. McDonalds in the parking lot. Only stayed 1 night, but hotel had a lot of hot water. Quick check in. and Water pressure is a B+. Lots of parking also. read more

I normally wait to check out before reviewing a property but the amenities and service are so poor here that they warrant an early review of their horrid property. I booked here based on their Hilton page stating they have a shuttle to and from the airport. Upon landing I discovered it only runs to 5PM and that their maintenance person, who apparently doubles as the shuttle driver, was 'too busy' to get me at 5:20. The person at the desk said they'd send a cab, which I took to mean they would pick up the fare, but lo and behold, when I arrived they asked me to handle the $26 charge because 'they don't pay cab fare'. Why not communicate that in a clear and concise manner? That was rhetorical because your shuttle hours are not clear or concise. At least your are consistent in your lousy communication habits. The hotel was newly 'remodeled' but I would despair to see what it was like prior as my room was spartanly furnished and outfitted with CFLs that hummed when turned on and produced about as much light as a Bic lighter. Hey, property manager, ever hear of LEDs? They actually make light. The fitness center was a total joke. Two treadmills, one elliptical and a tiny area with dumbbells all crammed into a closet-like area near the pool. The kicker was the restaurant which, nominally, opens at 5PM, however I sat there for 30 minutes waiting as the bartender/waitress poured drinks for person after person that came to the bar and didn't bother coming to the table. I finally lost my appetite from howling rage and was told by the desk 'that's they way we do it'. Here's a tip if you're thinking of staying here. Don't. Sleep outdoors. In a tent. Or under an overpass. You'll like the ambiance and service better than here. read more

The hotel is ok. My original room that I wanted, upon arrival, wasn't even cleaned/ready. Had to go talk to them about it and changed room. Bad start. Toilets were cleaned but looking more under the toilet bowl, feces stains. 2nd bad thing. 1 towel had some hair stuck into it (didn't touch it), that's the 3rd bad thing. With the poor decor placement, because the bed is shifted all the way to the corner of wall, one side of bed has outlets and usb connector added with a non working reading light, the other side of bed outlet is all the way to the other side of the room. First time trying this hotel, never coming back. Most hotel I tried, were more clean, ready and more care into making the hotel feel decent enough. read more

I stayed they're for 8 days and it was freezing on the floor I stayed on back in February. No heat! Front desk person was rude. Pool and hot tub were cold. My room was nice and beef was very comfortable. A fire alarm went off at 1am for 2 hrs and fire truck and police had to come. No free continental breakfast. You have to pay for every thing. Unfortunately I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with bed bugs at this hotel. The response to the situation was to offer to let me move rooms, not offer a way to clean my belongings and tell me "I don't know what you want me to do, I can't do anything until morning". After pressing I gained access to the guest laundry and requested to be moved to a different Hilton property. These were all guest led solutions as "well what do you want me to do?" quickly became their form of resolution. 2.5 hours later, after cleaning through, spraying all my belongings, and doing laundry to kill any potential hitchhikers - I will finally be able to move to a different property. Thank you to the wonderful Hilton Honors rep who helped me work through things remotely due to the on-site challenges and the pleasant overnight front desk team member who was apologetic and helpful - I only wish the GM and initial front desk clerk were as helpful as you. read more

The hotel is clean, the staff is welcoming and friendly, the service was great, and I feel I got a great value. The kitchen has great food, the bar tender Jessica was friendly and made us amazing drinks. Tonight, they have a fish special for $10.95 (Choice of cod, perch, haddock, or shrimp. Served with fries, coleslaw, and rye bread.) It was hand breaded, crispy and delicious. Mark really knows how to cook. Tomorrow night, they have steak special $13.95 (Choice of Top Sirloin, NY Strip, Ribeye. Served with baked potato or fries, vegetable medley, and garlic bread.) They must be under new management! Definitely an upgrade compared to last time I stayed here! 10/10 recommend this place! read more

The actual staying in the hotel on Saturday, June 4th to Sunday, June 5th was great. (I stayed at the hotel for the evening of Saturday, June 4th. I checked out at approximately 10:50 am the following Sunday morning.) However, since the evening of June 5th I had been trying to talk to either the head of housekeeping or the general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn of Kimberly. Full disclosure-I left my black dress and red shall in Room 238, and understand 100% that lands on me. I never would have imagined, however, how big of an issue getting them back would be!!! I first called on the evening of Sunday, June 5th to check if my dress and shall had been found. This is when the frustration started. The young lady I spoke with that evening took my name and phone number and said someone would call me back the following morning.....I heard nothing. I called on Monday afternoon and spoke with Paula and she once again took my information and said the head of housekeeping would call me back on Tuesday morning....again, nothing. I called again on Wednesday, June 8th to once again be told I would hear from the head of housekeeping on Thursday morning. This day I was also told that my dress and shall was not found. (I will address that in a bit.) Paula then transferred me to the Head of Housekeeping's voicemail, only to be sent back to the front desk with no ability to leave a message. I then asked if I could leave a message for the GM. When I was transferred to the GM's voicemail, I was told it was full and not able to take any new messages. On Thursday, June 9th I called once again and spoke with Carina. She took my information, once again, and said she would reach out to housekeeping to find my dress and someone would call me back on Friday morning. Guess what.....I did not hear from anyone Friday morning and called in the afternoon and spoke with Paula once again. She assured me that someone would call me over the weekend. Well, as of the Morning of June 13th at 9:47 am and I STILL had yet to receive a call from anyone. (Paula has been wonderful every time I spoke to her. I could tell in her voice that as the week went along she was getting just as frustrated as I was that her co-workers were not calling me back. I have no issues with her. Who I do have issues with is management and housekeeping.) After emailing the head of housekeeping and the Task Force Manager, I finally heard from Nick, the Task Force Manager on Tuesday, June 14th. I have a few questions...... 1. How is it possible my dress and shall were not found when I called on Sunday evening to find it? I highly, highly doubt your hotel is that busy that someone could not go and check room 238 to see if the dress and shall were there. 2. If my dress and shall were not there on Sunday evening/Monday morning, why? 3. Did someone use Room 238 on Sunday evening? 4. Did that person walk off with it? I would highly doubt this!!! 5. Or did an employee walk off with it? 6. How hard is it to have someone return a call? 7. Do you have cameras in the hallways? If so, have you checked them to see who specifically cleaned Room 238 on Sunday? And has that person been asked if they saw the dress? 8. Did anyone go back into the room after it was cleaned? 9. When was the next guest booked in the room? Have they been called and asked if they found anything? As I have said before, something is just not adding up here!! I am beyond frustrated at this point. I was quite happy with this hotel when I checked in. Although the receptionist was not particularly friendly the room is beautiful clean and quite new. Another plus is that everything seems to be made out of concrete here so there isn't noise from other rooms. I did hear a clicking in the nighttime from the fridge I think. As a result I had to leave the fan on all night so that it would mask the noise. Another issue was the bathtub which didn't drain very well. By the end of my shower I was in about an inch and a half of water. Thirdly at the breakfast both the oatmeal and the eggs were almost ice cold. read more

awesome place for business travelers. there is free wireless internet, really cozy lounge, where i am currently writing this review next to their fireplace). you get free cookies at night like all HGIs, i believe. if you want to print something, you can print and pick it up downstairs at the business center. free trashy newspaper, usa today, every morning. my hairdryer didn't work and within 2 minutes, literally, they took a hairdryer from an unoccupied room and gave it to me. i ordered out for dinner one day and i also took a set of utensils to use. every room has a fridge and microwave which is a HUGE plus if you eat out, have leftovers, and don't feel like going out again. if you're here, you might get a corporate discount. so drop your client's name and see. they knocked off like $15/night and gave me free breakfast coupons every morning. breakfast comes with like choice of 5 different juices, variety of breads, hot meals, and eggs cooked to order! the only sucky part is that this gym. the machines are old as if they were used at really nice gyms 20 years ago and then put here where old machines go when gyms upgrade. the gym room itself is like slightly larger than my bathroom upstairs. i would have rated this place higher if it weren't for that. read more

The receptionists were so nice. The housekeeper knocked our door twice for cleaning. First was at 9 and second was about 10.30. I know i have to check out before 11. It was annoying. I know i could hang the sign on my door, but the housekeeper should know not to disturb by the first time. Just my opinion. read more

Beware! I'm staying at this property for the first time and am extremely disappointed. I just learned that I am being charged $361 more than a friend of mine for the same stay. I'm attending a the Wisconsin game at Lambeau Field and booked in May. The 4 night stay was none refundable. The hotel was completely sold out 8 days ago. My friend booked 3 days ago and got a great deal. The reason, the hotel is double dipping. They have been paid for the rooms and are now reselling at a discount. I brought this to the GM's attention, Brittany, and was told too bad I prepaid and she couldn't do anything. I'm just trying to warn others who might be attending a game that they could try the Quality Inn 3 blocks away and save $600. read more

Friendly staff. The new manager let us use one of their empty conference rooms to do some work in instead of sitting on the lobby couches with our laptops which was nice of him. Breakfast is ok. Nice LCD TVs in the rooms: I'm watching a very clear picture of Game of Thrones on HBO right now as I write this review :) The internet here has been decent compared to the other reviewers indicating issues; seems they've been resolved. I'm pulling 2Mbit down and 1 up but my Verizon LTE speeds are incredible here...40Mbit down and nearly 10 up in the early morning! read more

Honestly, this is one of the most run down hotels I've stayed at. We stayed for 2 nights. If my grandma hadn't already paid for the rooms (She likes getting the Hilton points) by the time we got to Kimberly, we would have gone to the hotel across the street. These are the things I can think of off the top of my head that should be fixed.. The shower head was yucky, there's hair and dust on the shower, tub and floors, the grout is yellowing and there's no fan. There's dust collecting. The sheets are too small for the beds. The mattresses were garbage even though you can adjust them. The pillows were flat. The vacuuming was minimal. The breakfast isn't included and $11 per person. There's not vending machines with food on the floor, but there's a vending machine with 6 types of canned pop at $1.25 each. My DH ended up walking across the way to mcdonalds to get a large pop for $1. I don't belive this room was sanitized properly in years and needs some good updating. I'm not staying at this hotel ever again even if it is already paid for. read more

Food itself might be overpriced, but the cook is the most wonderful and friendly gentleman I have ever encountered at a hotel- we were here for a wedding and sitting in the dinning room with the family most of the evening. For a small town like Appleton, not a lot of hotel choices and no full service hotels like Hilton etc. I do like Hilton Garden Inn most places I travel and this hotel is pretty nice considering all the alternatives, the value is fantastic and it is near a lot of the better places to eat as well as shopping areas. It is not far from Down Town Appleton either so it works well for being a little off the beat and path of Appleton. Hotel recently renovated and is clean and modern. I have stayed at this hotel for years. As a HHonors Member, I like to spend my money in properties that give back to their patrons while offering a consistent quality product. During my most recent stay in Kimberly, I was given one of the newly updated rooms. I must say.....completely disappointed. Not sure who the property owners looked to for design guidance but they completely missed the mark. Any chance they had to recycle items used in the past, they did. Toilets, lights, phones, chairs, comforters, mini refrigerator, TV's etc. Not a single outlet on the desk to plug in my electronics. Suppose if I had an extension cord I could plug it in near the bed but I don't carry one. This location should be concerned when the new Double Tree opens near by. read more

We booked the Hilton Garden Inn Appleton/Kimberly for our wedding. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty! Jason Vanden Heuvel was wonderful to work with. We had a potentially major communication mishap, but he resolved the issue promptly and definitely satisfactorily! We stayed in Appleton a few months ago and of course I procrastinated on writing a review right away. Appleton is a small Wisconsin town and we went in winter so not much to do but the Hilton Garden Inn was a familiar comfort. Nice included breakfast, of course plenty of parking, room was predictable and comfortable which is what you want after a long drive. The staff was great and gave us directions and recommendations for whatever we asked. Wifi was included. Lobby was a nice place to relax and it was not noisy while we were there at all. I realize this is a ho-hum review but consistency is important especially in a hotel when you are in an unfamiliar place. There were a few hotel options and I am glad we overlooked those to stay in our familiar comfortable Hilton brand. read more

My girls and I stayed one night here and had the best experience!! The receptionist, Carrie, was super friendly and very professional! We accidentally stained the tub with black hairspray (part of a Halloween costume), and after telling Carrie about it, she graciously said not to worry because they could get it clean. I was so relieved! Then she turned around and gave us free complimentary breakfast tickets for their delicious breakfast bar! I HIGHLY recommend this Hilton hotel to any travelers staying near Appleton, Kimberly, or Kaukauna area! Our room was clean, comfortable, and modern. Good price too! read more

Way, way overpriced. The room was NOT exceptional for a rate of $99.00! I am a world traveler and this was the first motel/hotel that did not . . . repeat: did not provide a free continental breakfast. I was told I could PURCHASE a $10.00 breakfast. INDEED! Great location! Greater people! I did not eat there. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Very stable free WIFI for HH guests. Lobby is warm and inviting. The cookies, coffee and flavored water is a great touch. Gym is small but met my needs. Equipment needs updating. One treadmill was not working. But no one else was in there but me and they give you free access to a couple of gyms in town. read more

Don't waste you money going to the Hilton Garden Inn Appleton/Kimberly. I travel weekly for work and stay almost exclusively at Hilton Garden Inns and have always found them excellent. However, this hotel was a serious disappointment and waste of money. While the staff were friendly and provided excellent service, the hotel itself is poorly maintained. The bathtub in my room was one of the old type, enamel over iron, and was rusting out around the drain. The walls around the tub had what appeared to be mold in the corners. The tub faucet & shower mechanism were extremely difficult to turn. The toilet seat was not properly screwed down and slid all over the place. The king size bed was broken down on one side and the linens were musty. I was supposed to stay here 2 nights but checked out after the first night and found a different place to stay. Please note - the 2 star rating if for the condition of the hotel only. The staff deserves 4 stars. The hotel restaurant breakfast was very good & also provided excellent service & deserves 4 stars as well. If you want a nice place to stay in Appleton, try the Copper Leaf - comparable prices to the Hilton, MUCH nicer facility. read more
