The hotel is located in a compound with both the Garden Inn and a Hampton Inn. (When traveling domestically we usually try for Hilton properties.) We booked the Garden Inn because it came in $50 cheaper. For one night it was okay. Not the lap of luxury, but okay. As others reported, it's a little shabby but clean. The air conditioner was somewhat loud, but on the bright side it muffled noise from the highway. You get a $10 credit per person for breakfast if you're a rewards member. In other Garden Inns the credit covers a limited buffet (bagels, oatmeal, fruit -- things like that.). The buffet here is $20. Nope! Doing a side-by-side comparison I'd choose the Hampton Inn. But $50 is $50 and if I save more than a couple of dollars I'd stay here again. read more

Confusion at check-in, hydration at checkout We checked into the Hilton Garden Inn expecting a reliable, stress-free stay, especially given our Hilton status ...but instead spent the trip untangling mistakes that never should've happened. Our reservation was messed up from the start, the front desk couldn't get the details straight, and we were even charged incidentals twice, which meant more calls and post follow-up than any hotel stay should require. Because of the reservation errors, we also didn't receive the complimentary breakfast that was included in our booking ....disappointing, and frankly, not what we expect from Hilton... status or not. On the plus side? They made absolutely sure we were hydrated. We were offered bottled water. Repeatedly. Constantly. Relentlessly. Maybe we looked stressed... or maybe just very, very thirsty The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, but the operational hiccups overshadowed everything else. Hilton can...and should do better, especially for loyal guests. Bottom line: friendly staff, but billing errors and reservation confusion made this stay more work than rest. I am shocked at the condition of this Hilton property. The room was completely unacceptable: hair encrusted in the duvet, top sheet, bottom sheet and even the mattress itself. Both sides of the mattress had visible pee stains, the ventilation vents were covered in dirt, mold and dust. The carpets were dirty and foul smelling. This is far below the standard I expect from Hilton. Cleanliness and basic hygiene should be non-negotiable, yet this room was not only uncomfortable but felt unsafe to stay in. I am deeply dissatisfied and disappointed that a brand known for hospitality would allow such conditions. Arrived at 2:00am with a reservation. Desk clerk was a nice enough guy, but informed me of $7.00 parking charge that was hidden behind an icon on the Hilton website. This is a hotel in a shopping center with plenty of parking. Clerk waived the parking fee. Stayed in room 310, nice room but faces Rt 95 and the highway truck noise was loud. Room was clean, but if you stay here, request an odd numbered room to be away from the Rt 95 noise. read more

I would not recommend this hotel. Room was clean, but too cold when we checked in (65 degrees). We asked for blankets... they didn't have enough so the gentleman gave us extra sheets.... At breakfast we ordered eggs over easy and toast. They didn't even have butter and they put bacon and potatoes on our plates. Explained that we didn't order bacon ( pork is against my religion and my mother is vegetarian). They tried to re-plate the same eggs, we couldn't eat them as the bacon was on top of them. We left without eating. We haven't had these issues at other franchises. I would recommend finding another hotel, too many issues. read more

Front desk did nothing to address the sticky floor in the food area even though there was a housekeeper 10 feet away. I originally booked this hotel through my Hilton app as the normal hotel I stay at was booked. Once I did I then read the reviews and was nervous, they weren't good. I was pleasantly surprised to find extremely helpful front desk help , a large comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. Some of the reviews complained of being over charged and dirty rooms. That was not the case and now I have another option when I'm on business in Fredericksburg. read more

So the hotel itself is nice, the front desk staff is friendly but the services/amenities were really a fail this trip. The side door does not unlock with hotel keys, it turns green but doesn't open, forcing me to walk through the whole building. Whatever, not a huge deal but then I try to go to the gym and one treadmill was not working. So the next day o try again and the second one randomly turned off at 18 minutes and hasn't worked since. So there's now 2/2 non-operational. I was an extended stay so the cleaning staff was supposed to come twice a week. They did not come at all the first week. The second week when they came, they made the bed (did not change sheets or anything, and cleared 1/2 trash cans and put new towels. I had spilled a few crumbs from a snack that were just left there. The second trash can they took the bag and never replaced it. Overall just not impressed. read more

After returning from Long Beach Cali, we decided to go to Fredericksburg Virginia. We drove down from NY late afternoon/evening and arrived in Fredericksburg late at night and booked the hotel while driving on the way, not bad at all. We were greeted by a nice gentleman, Sean, at the front desk. We got a nice room and slept like babies! The room had everything nice. The TV wasn't huge but that's ok, I wasn't here to watch a TV. We tried the breakfast buffet the next morning. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection. My spinach and mushroom omelette came out great! We were served by Anna at breakfast buffet. I used the gym everyday but didn't have time to use the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Outside lounge was also a nice place to relax. We used it at night after dinner date. Nice hotel! read more

The staff were friendly here. Bummed there is no free breakfast. The pillows in the rooms are flat and less than comfortable. My room was right next to the pool and I could hear when people were in there which was annoying, but I was glad to be next to the gym where they have water. The gym, however, is VERY small and doesn't have a lot of weights. The pool and gym both close at 10. Wouldn't have picked this place, but was assigned for a trip I went on so had to stay. read more

We were unaware that Hilton was starting a new line of hotels. As an answer to the Holiday Inn Express, the Hilton decided to go with a more urban theme, with the Hilton Inner City edition. It's actually an awesome experience, especially for fans of 'The Wire.' You enter thinking that it will be like any other hotel: the lobby is reasonably clean and welcoming, they actually have dinner service and continental breakfast and the front desk staff seem pretty friendly. These might all distract you from hearing the Twilight Zone theme as you head onto the elevator. You pause, thinking it's a bit slower than expected. And the squeaks and dents might remind you of the Hollywood Tower Hotel (from Disney's Tower of Terror ride). But you shake off those niggling thoughts in the back of your head. Come on. You're in Virginia and hey, Virginia is for lovers. Bow chicka wow wow. Ain't no lovin' for you tonight, my friend. Hopefully you brought your detective hat and your magnifying glass. You step in, unsuspectingly into the scene of a crime. What are these red stains here? Was someone freshly murdered? Has someone been called in missing? You've time warped into Baltimore at it's seediest, in one of the nicer hotels renting by the hour. The ghetto fabulous 80s jacuzzi tub is present, with an awesome jury-rigged shower head that would make McGuyver nod his approval. I look approvingly at the spackling. My 9 yo couldn't have done a better job. But where is the body? Could it be hidden under the bed? Were the sheets cleaned after disposing of the evidence? If so, mighty fine job with the bleach. Alas, one might never know what crimes took place here. Maybe this was the last place Jimmy Hoffa stayed before he went to sleep with the fishes? Either way, savor how closely your significant other snuggles next to you, fearing for her well-being. Hmm, maybe Virginia really is for lovers after all? Probably one of the worst hotel experiences I ever had, especially as a "Hilton" . I always expect Hiltons to be 5 Star Hotels.. They cleaned my room only once in my stay and that's because I had to request .. I requested a different day and they didn't even show up into my room. I had to leave the trash outside my room to make sure it was picked up. Front desk always had attitude, at this point I'm not sure if Virginia has the same attitude or it was this hotel. The breakfast was over priced for it to always run out, and I literally had to scrape the dried egg off of the corners of the metal egg tray they had for breakfast because they don't make fresh food. I came out 30min before closing breakfast , and the lady attending to breakfast gave me the nastiest attitude. And she told me not to come no later than 45 or I will find everything closed , although breakfast ends at 10am.. the gym had only one bench and two treadmills, horrible amenities. The indoor pool was "not functioning" . For this hotel be on hospitality lane it's a disgrace to even be on the same street .. the inside of the room has no cabinets.. what I had needed to be laid out on top of the tv stand.. I've never seen a hotel without drawers such a weird design.. I don't recommend staying here. Just go stay at Motel 6, you'll atleast get what you pay for and you won't feel ripped off. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. The noise level is beyond belief. Some venue about a half mile away was vibrating the walls of our room with the music. Sound meter registered well over 100. This is a very comfortable, clean, and pleasant stay. I'll get right to my star "dropping" for those of you who skim reviews - there is no free breakfast. 11.99 per person and a reduced rate for children. You can sit and get the breakfast buffet, order from their menu (items like pancakes or custom omelettes) that are not featured that day with the buffet, or you can have both. Mix and match from buffet and order. All of that for 11.99 isn't bad. Especially if you are the type of person who never wants to leave the hotel. They offer the same deal for dinner, wine and beer as well. Food was good, waiter excellent. That being said, I think this hotel is very well suited for someone who wants to just stay over and be on their way, no extra stops. Perfect for a business trip. I, however, prefer free breakfast. Tipping the maid and waiter/waitress adds up! Regardless of that rant (or I should say notice), the Hilton Garden is nice. They have a clean gym, water available, disposable earphones for music, a hot tub, indoor pool- all clean and working. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Coffee was good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location is great. Right of 95, near a Wegmans, Sheetz, and a huge shopping plaza with tons of places to eat and even a Walmart ! Ha! Nice place. read more

We checked in at 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Hotel seemed very safe in a location with 2 other Hilton chain hotels next door. Bonus to have a Wegman's supermarket across the parking lot with lots of prepared foods. Lots of "fast casual" restaurants near by. We stayed in an even # room on the back side of the hotel facing I-95. If there was highway noise, it was not enough for us to notice or keep us up. Mattresses were new-ish and the typical Hilton type. As some other reviews mentioned, there was some minor wear noticeable around the hotel or an occasional stain, but I would not let that prevent me from staying here. Plenty of hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipe stations. We would stay here again. Can't comment on the indoor pool, but it smelled like chlorine. read more

Terrible customer service. The front desk person allowed her family to have a party on the same hall as my room was in. When we requested a move she said it would be fine because they had moved the strobe lights and music to the lobby. But then at 2am they came upstairs and were running and screaming in the hall. The main reason this bothers me is because she refused to move us but she moved another couple. And the sheer amount of 40 some odd children is probably a fire code violation anyway. I won't stay at this location and I am seriously reconsidering why I even bother with hilton loyalty at all after this visit. read more

Super convenient to the highway and plenty of restaurants/shopping I would stay here again for sure. The hotel was clean... I know I mentioned that before but it is an important fact with any hotel/motel/inn. The staff was very welcoming and friendly... and not just the front desk staff so that was a plus. My room was on the first floor, I could not hear a thing -- from either the freeway or out in the hall. The room was decorated warmly, plenty of room, comfortable and I actually slept very well my 2 nights here. I can't even... First, when I arrived with my company check to pay for 14 rooms, I was told by three people that they couldn't accept the check. This after I'd cleared it with their sales manager weeks before. Apparently the third person I spoke with was a manager and ultimately accepted the check after making a telephone call. Then, he gave me keys to a room on the third floor that was already occupied, complete with person in the bathroom. On the way to said room, I stepped in something in the hallway that was the consistency of vomit. All of this while carrying no fewer than five bags. Later back down at the front desk. I am given keys to another room on the fifth floor. This time, I took a cart up to carry my things. Once at the room. The keys don't work. Meanwhile, my foot is still covered in vomit. At this point, I call the front desk and tell them I need someone to come up with keys that work because I'm not going back downstairs to get them. The manager comes up with keys, opens and props the door, then proceeds to talk to me about things I have no desire to talk about. Once I realize he's got nothing substantive to say, I ask him if he's going to give me the keys to my room. Instead of just handing them to me, he keeps talking, then ultimately hands them to me... while standing in the way of me entering my room! I then ask him if he's going to move so I can get into my room with the cart. Finally he does... then proceeds to keep talking. I finally tell him to go away, that I have things to do (first and foremost, clean the vomit off my foot) and no time to talk. Later, I find out that two of the others in my party also had issues with their rooms. One, had something malfunctioning in his room and needed to be moved to another room. They gave him a hard time about it. The other person had just checked into the room, went out for a quick bite to eat, then when she got back, found people standing in her room! They insisted they'd just gotten in there and they all went to the front desk to get it straightened out. What if they were dishonest people? What if she'd not gotten back for another hour or more. She could've been robbed blind! This hotel staff is the most unprofessional and inept ever. We normally stay at the Hampton Inn right next door, but they were sold out. Never again! read more

This place is filthy. I checked in and went to my room and noticed there was mold on the window sill and dust everywhere. Obviously they were not cleaning the room. The room smelled like sweat. The bedspread had seen better days. I was asked to move to another room. The second room was no better. It had the same issues as the first room. There was mold in the shower which looked like it was built in 1985. The caulk on the sink was cracked and looked dirty. I was also shocked at the deplorable condition of the refrigerator. The cabinet it was held in was moldy and dirty from moisture. The walls were dirty with unidentified stains. I didn't sleep very well and should have checked out immediately! I was tired after a long flight and was injured so I gave up. If you desire simple cleanliness I would avoid this place. My coworker said he had a surprise in his shower. He said when he reached for a towel a large hair ball came tumbling down. What in on earth is this cleaning staff doing? The only thing that made up for this was the staff member who brought me clean pillows and cleaned my bathroom. The cleaning staff should be admonished for their poor performance. The owner of this hotel is comparable to a slum lord and should take a long look at this hotel. read more

To get to the point, the reason I am knocking 2 stars is strictly because you cannot adjust the temperature in your own room whatsoever. I travel quite frequently, and have stayed at dozens of Hilton's, this is the first time I'm ever seen this. Not only did it never shut off, but it was very cold, and as the purchaser of this room, I had no control over my own comfort. There are nice aspects to this hotel. The lobby is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The check in and out process was smooth, and getting a package delivered was no problem at all. The bed was comfortable as well! I would never stay at this location again, though. I also wouldn't recommend it. Well, I would recommend it if you want to get hot under your covers in a cold room and wake up in a sweat pool. Brianna at the front desk was very pleasant and this by no means is a reflection of hers because she was very understanding. HOWEVER, this hotel is absolutely unacceptable. The front lobby is nice and the grounds are fine considering it's a Hilton, the hallways and rooms are absolutely disgusting. I have NEVER left a hotel room after doing reviews and picking the best one in the area out. The doors are chipped and horribly maintained , first indicator. Rooms literally look like a detention room. Walls are all scuffed and poorly painted, vents falling off, carpets stained, cigarette smells. We walked in and immediately walked out. These rooms are maintained worse than a motel 6. We had a 4 yr old and paid a decent amount for a good room in the area. This is not it. We went to the Hyatt down the road and paid 10$ more for MUCH better room and hotel. Such a shame and very deceitful. read more

Just got to my destination and wanted to write a quick review. Stopped in on a terribly bad weather night and asked if they had a room and was pleasantly surprised that they did and it was a king room at a great price. All the employees I came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. A big shout-out to our waitress, Jaye, in the restaurant. She was very sweet to us and made us feel very welcome. A great employee! only downside we had was the posted hours on the restaurant was open to 10 but at 8:45 they said I couldn't have dinner because they were closing in 10 mins. Had to go back out in the terrible weather and find someplace to eat. But found Jaye in the morning at the restaurant and made up for last night. Accomodations were neat and clean and even the maid in the morning was very cheery and friendly to us and wished us a good breakfast and safe trip to our destination. Negative stars should be an option here. PSA stay away from this place. Staff is rude starting with the front desk to the GM and they will hang up on you BTW. They also accused me of smoking in my room and I don't smoke. Cost me $268 additional dollars and top of the already $200 for the room. This place is immacculate! I travel extensively for both business and leisure purposes, this particular time around we had to make a stop in Virginia. This is by far the best hilton I've been to. The lobby is colorful, modern, sophisticated and welcoming. The people that served breakfast were very nice. Just a warning, there is a hot tub and a pool but it tends to be packed (so get there early lol) the gym could be bigger but its decent sized (two treadmills, one elliptical and a few free weights I think). If your in Fredericksburg, I highly recommend this hotel! read more

A disclaimer: We have been frequent guests at this hotel over the years and been very pleased with everything. However, this year was quite different, and was a terrible and unacceptable experience. First, our room was not serviced for four days. We talked to three different managers and was assured the problem would be remedied. It was not. After day four of no housekeeping, we demanded a new room, which we received. They failed to tell us that there would be a huge loud party two floors below us, which continued with loud music until 1:30am. After several attempts to speak to the front desk to speak to the participants, the music did not abate at all. We demanded a different room again!! Overall, there is terrible communication among staff members. Inadequate communication with guests about potential disruptions and overall incompetence and no motivation among staff to assure guest satisfaction. Never be back!!! read more

I was offered a room which smelled cigarette and i hated it. They didn't have any other room so I didn't have any option than to check out. First the good. Nice clean hotel, easy check in, easy check out. Small keurig coffee maker in the room, mini fridge, ice machine working well, TV worked. Outlets for all you phones everywhere. No bugs. This hotel sits around a group of hotels and off the road from shopping and every food place you could ever want, especially Chik-fil-A, Walmart and a Target are right down the street. Now the bad. The bed must be one of those memory foam made by Serta hard as rocks collection. This was the hardest bed I have ever NOT slept on. The give one pillow for each person on a king size bed. Pillow shortage? For the price you would think they would give a small complementary breakfast. Breakfast was $11.99 additional and it looked like the same breakfast you get at the lesser priced hotels which give it to you for free. I will give it the 3 stars for being a clean, safe place, but I would not start here again because rock hard beds do not agree with me. read more

We stayed here from 8/13/2022-8/21/2022. This was a extremely dumpy hotel. The nicest people working there were the cleaning and restocking staff. They were so nice and helpful and always said hello when you walked by. The Manager was horrible, everything was dirty, and nothing had consistency. The manager kept changing all the rules for the pool, lobby and outside seating area. One sign said you had to be 14 to swim without an adult and then a piece of paper on the door said 18. My reservation was lost, even though I had a confirmation number. They did fix that and gave me a better room for the same price. Only thing though was that it couldn't have been better because it was disgustin! Bloody prints on the wall, shave cream and leg hair on the shower walls, mouse poop right next to the microwave. (One of our friends did kill a mice in the lobby.) Everything was rundown and needed a fresh coat of paint. Anytime we had a question the manager NEVER came out to talk to us. She would go in the back room when someone was coming up to complain and then made the front desk person take care of it. Our price of the rooms got screwed up, they were charged and then credits, then credits removed. Like they were playing with our credit cards and we never signed for anything. I could go on and on, but it's a waste of breath to keep complaining about things that will probably never change anyway. Don't stay here, it makes a Motel 6 look classy! read more
