We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel until the last part of our trip when we began noticing that items from our room were missing. On Friday, 11/08/25, we realized that a small bag containing only our receipts, which had been sitting on the dresser by the mirror, was gone. Since it was only receipts, we did not think much of it at the time. The next day, Saturday, 11/09/25, the jewelry and gifts we had purchased in Murano also went missing. These included a thank you gift for my sister (red Murano glass earrings), a bracelet and earrings for our daughter, and a Murano glass bottle opener. All of the items were kept together in their jewelry boxes in a plastic bag on the dresser in front of the mirror. Altogether, the value was about €80. We discovered the items were missing on Sunday while packing and doing laundry and immediately reported it to the front desk on 11/09/25. We were told that both the front desk manager and general manager were off that day. Staff said they spoke with the cleaner assigned to our room, who denied taking anything. Since there are no cameras inside rooms, there was unfortunately no way for us or the hotel to verify what happened. When we checked out on Monday, 11/10/25, we spoke with the front desk manager. He was polite, apologetic, and tried to help. He refunded us $10 for the laundry coins we had purchased, but that did not come close to the value of the missing items. He suggested that perhaps the items had been mixed in with the blankets and thrown away accidentally, but we explained that everything had been sitting on the dresser, not in the bedding, and the items were heavy and in boxes. After returning home, I waited about a month to see if management would follow up or offer any additional resolution, but I never heard back. I am not someone who normally leaves negative reviews, but this was very disheartening, especially because we traveled to Venice for our wedding anniversary and had an otherwise wonderful stay. From the moment we checked in, the staff was professional, very helpful and really glad to be there. The bar and restaurant was spectacular. The food was so delicious. Our room was very well appointed, The king size bed was very comfortable. I actually slept very well and even took a nap. The hotel is located very near Venice so the transportation (bus #5 or 19) will take you right into the city center where you can just walk onto/into Venice and explore. The hotel has bus passes for 3 euro round-trip as well as vaperetto tickets for the water taxi and unless you have legs and buns of steel, a water taxi will take you back from St Marco Piazza to the bus area. Not a favorite but it was fine for our stay near Venice. We only booked this hotel because we had status and were recommended to not stay within Venice because of traffic. They had a bus stop right outside which was convenient. Because we are diamond members we got upgraded to their top floor in room 611. We stayed for 3 nights during new years and here are my pros and cons based on our experience: Pros: - They have a bus stop right in front of the hotel. It is about a 20 minute ride to Venice. - It's a 15 minute taxi ride from the train station - The hotel conveniently sells bus passes - Bed was comfortable - Mini fridge and safe available - Complementary breakfast for diamond members (although we didn't try it and got points instead) - Nice pool area - We can see fireworks from our floor for New Years Cons: - They rarely pick up their front desk phone. This was really annoying. - They didn't clean our room the first day and we left our rooms around 1pm. - Restroom setup is a little awkward with the toilet right behind the door. It was a little crammed. - Room felt more like for a business trip. It had too much furniture we didn't use that would take up space. - Waters only provided on the first day in room - Lines for checking in and out. Honestly it was an okay stay and we didn't stay that long. But it definitely wasn't a luxury hotel and nothing there wowed us. Didn't stay long, but I definitely liked what I did see. Our room had a great view of the beautiful pool that I didn't get to use. The bedroom, bathroom, and living room with a pullout bed were perfect. The bed in the bedroom was large and comfortable. Could have had a 3rd person in the bed if needed. Loved the safe and fridge in the room. Loved the coffee and tea amenities. The bathroom amenities were also nice like the shampoo, shower gel, and hair dryer. I didn't have breakfast there, but my mom and daughter seemed to like it. On our last day there, they were kind enough to pack us up each a breckfast to go. I wasn't that crazy with the stuff that they packed up for us, but I was truely impressed with the effort. The front desk ordered us a taxi when we needed to leave which I appreciated. Our overnight stay in Venice on September 4-5, 2023 was no exception. NARRATIVE: This Hilton Garden Inn is off the beaten path of Venice itself but, the modern decor, friendly and excellent staff and some of the finest Risotto and freshest Anchovies I've ever eaten made up for the travel to Venice. The hotel offers the usual amenities like, free wifi and bottled waters in the room but what impressed me was the large outdoor pool and its setting area. The full bar and the courtyard sitting area adjacent to it. Once settled in and after a few drinks, the wife and I headed out to explore Venice. Before we left, we sought out help from the front desk on some choice shopping spots and their recommendation on some great gelato. We were given maps of Venice and told the bus service offering rides from the hotel was just outside the door and, the desk sold ride tickets. After hours of exploring Venice and once back at the hotel, we decided to dine in the hotels restaurant and I'm sooo glad we did. The wife wasn't very hungry and ordered a Cesar Salad. When our server told us the salad was enough to feed two or more, I opted to join in with the salad and asked if I could add anchovies. I also ordered their Risotto. The anchovies were some of the best tasting I've ever had. Not salty at all and they were super fresh. My Risotto.....Heavenly. SCENE: The Hilton Garden Inn is located on the San Giuliano side of Venice and by taxi, is about a ten minute ride to the Marco Polo Airport. RECOMMENDATION(S): When I return to the Venice area. Absolutely top-notch! So many processes the Hilton Garden Inn United States could take from them. We were only there for two nights in our room was made up after our first night. Restaurant was spectacular. Absolutely delicious menu! Their small bar featured some terrific beverages, handcrafted, as well as near all day menu! The hotel itself also offered room service! If I were going to give a down check, it would be for the laundry room. The English translation of the European laundry machines operation weren't the best. We were staying in this hotel for three night. It was very inconvenient to wait outside waiting for buses which was crowded and no place to sit while you were going to Venice Center. The cleaning crews were did not leave us water bottles and coffee supplies and new glasses. We came home with no glasses in our room after they cleaned our room yesterday. The front area receptionist staff were extremely unfriendly with us and we were not happy talking to them since they were always busy talking to someone else. read more

Nice hotel with a big pool and exercise room. It has easy access to the main part of Venice. A bus picks up in front of the hotel. The rooms are nice, however the bathroom is small. The breakfast buffet was okay, but the bacon was greasy and undercooked. The eggs were cooked better than at most European hotels, and they also offer to cook an omelette, but they don't tell you that. read more

The experience was really bad as when I reached the hotel the lady at the counter told that my reservation for both the rooms shows cancelled. I was shocked and when I asked her to show me the cancellation then she told I will discuss with my colleague and let you know later. Then I asked her if there is any new room available and she booked me on higher price. Later the same day she told it was her mistake as my reservation was not cancelled and she refunded my double booking fees. when we booked this hotel, the website mentioned hotel shuttle and this is the reason we booked it; for the convenience of close distance to the airport. When we checked in, we asked about the shuttle and we were told it only runs only on certain times (which the website never mentions) and that we have to go to the airport using another form of transportation. front staff told us they will call the taxi for us. it can be private or public. well! lo and behold. the taxi that the hotel gave us did not even have the meter displayed in the car and never said a word of how much until we got to the airport and he asked us for 50 euro. the airport is only 3.8 miles from this hotel! we got jacked! and we did not have a choice at all! We stayed at the Venice Hilton Garden Inn two separate times on our recent trip to Italy and both were exceptional stays. The first thing that is important to know is this hotel is closer to the Airport than Venice proper. BUT it is right on a very frequent bus route and you can take the regular bus and the water bus and be at St Marks Square within 40 minutes. The hotel is very "Americanized" with decent AC, a hotel staff which universally speaks really great English and very modern and up to date facilities. The restaurant is good but very expensive for what you get. There is a pizza place at the sketchy looking hotel next door - it's amazing. There is also a Lidl grocery store about a 15 minute walk away if you need very cheap essentials. When I come back to Venice I'm staying here again! read more

We decided to stay here because we wanted the American amenities & we didn't want to have to lug our luggage through all those steps and cobble stones if we stayed on the island. It's a quick bus ride to the island 6€ for round trip and they offer shuttle service to train station if your planning to do day trips go different cities for 20€. Rooms are great and clean. They have wonderful English speaking staff to help you. They also have a very nice pool and day spa too. The spa is legit. It's full service and totally great! Great property & staff, we used the bar-pool-restaurant however 2 out of 6 of us were pick pocketed. 1 right outside the hotel at the bus stop, the other at the Rialto ACTV water bus station. I'm staying in the same hotel on this trip. It's held up nicely. The rooms are extremely large by European standards. The beds are comfortable, it's really clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. And the free wifi in the lobby and room is a HUGE amenity. Pick up the login details at the front desk. There's a restaurant on the premises, so it's convenient. The hotel is located along a highway with no restaurants within close walking distance. My room rate also included a buffet breakfast, which serves cereals, meats, egg, pastries, and a whole lot more. It'll give you a great start to your day of sightseeing. In terms of value, comfort and convenience, it's hard to beat. Pro tip: To get to venice, take the 5 or 19 bus at the stop right outside the hotel. It's about 15 minutes away. Exit the bus at the bus terminal. Just follow the crowd. You can buy tickets at the front desk of the hotel. It's much easier to do this for your all your trips than to go to the sales office of the bus terminal. If you plan on taking the vaporetto a few times (like to Murano), it's cheaper to buy the unlimited day pass. read more

This is a great spot to use as a base to tour Venice. The modern facilities are lovely and the location is perfect with facile access to transportation into the city. The rooms are quite nice, the staff are friendly and very helpful and the morning breakfast is beyond adequate. The room rate seemed quite reasonable for the location and the quality of their offering. We wanted to spend two days touring Venice. When we investigated the options, we found that the hotels in the city were quite expensive. When reading the TripAdvisor reviews for this establishment, the ease of access into the city was highlighted in virtually all of them. It was also close to the Mestre Train Station where we planned to catch our departing train. The facility did, in fact receive generally excellent marks and, as a Hilton Diamond member, I had the option to use points. With all factors taken into account, it seemed like the best choice for us. We were dropped at the hotel by our distribution partner as a favor after we concluded our business in Ferrara. We had difficulty finding the right turnoff from the Expressway as it seemed to be a bit tricky. But we eventually located it. The curb appeal was quite positive as the large building towered above most things around it. The front landscaping was modern in its motif and was also quite impressive. Upon entering, the lobby area gave an equally positive impression. The front counter area was well kept and decently staffed. The lobby itself was nicely laid out and well presented with a pleasant decor. It was aesthetically pleasing but also functional with a reasonable amount of seating. We were checked in by a very efficient and friendly front desk agent. She assigned us a room on the sixth level. In general, we found the staff to be very helpful during our stay as they were congenial and I found our dealings very pleasant. The elevator ride to our floor was intriguing as there was an outside view. However, I also enjoyed having the option of taking the stairs from the lobby when I wanted the extra steps. Upon entering our room, we were quite pleased as we found it to be spacious and clean. The modern decor was quite nice as the work area was more than adequate and the flat screen TV featured a decent array of programming. The bathroom was also clean and functional. The amenities were all in order including the WiFi, which worked flawlessly throughout our stay. The bed was comfortable and the surroundings were quiet allowing us to get good sleep. Our room allowed a nice view of the surrounding area while the pool was directly below us. The morning breakfast was quite sufficient for us. There was a decent array of hot and cold items. Our meal was comped because of my status but the price they typically charged seemed reasonable for the quality of the fare. The transportation into the city was very easy as advertised. The bus stop was just outside the hotel. There were two lines that went directly to the bus station at the city's edge. We were able to buy multi-day transportation passes at the front desk and charge them to our room. The ride was about 8 to 10 minutes to the city terminal and the cost was very reasonable. The return trip was just as easy as it was the simple reverse of the ride into the city. When we departed, we were able to take advantage of the convenient shuttle to Mestre station. We arranged for it a few hours in advance on the morning we needed it. For €14 and a small tip, it was a very inexpensive way to get to our train. As a Diamond member, I had sufficient points to pay for the stay as this seemed like a very good situation in which to use those points. When I had looked up the cost, rooms were about €260 to €280. While not cheap, given the location, the going rates around Venice, the quality of the facility and the access this establishment offered to transportation, this was not a bad deal. Overall, we were very happy with this choice as it made a great base to tour Venice. The location is terrific with the proximity to transportation. The facility is top notch while the rooms are very nice. The service is wonderful with a very attentive and responsive staff. The morning breakfast is more than adequate. The room rates are also not bad given the cost of other hotels in the area. I would absolutely have no qualms about recommending this place if you need Venice-area accommodations. read more

I've visited Venice several times but this was my first trip that I drove instead of flying. This hotel is location just 10 mins from the water taxi/ bus depot. The hotel was clean updated and had all that you expect from a Hilton. I liked that I was able to purchase a water/bus ticket directly from the front desk instead of trying to figure out where to purchase this from. There was a bus stop directly in front of the hotel which made it super convenient for us to hop on and head to water taxi Depot. We parked our car the entire time at the hotel and just took the bus or water taxi since it was so convenient to do and we didn't have to worry about finding parking. The hotel had a restaurant for meals as well as food served from the bar area. Staff was friendly, rooms were updated and clean. It was a great stay and I would return. read more

Reserve through VCEGI-SALESADM@hilton.com To get to downtown Venice, you take the #5 bus that stops directly in front of the hotel and in less than 15 minutes you are at the Plaza where all the buses and taxis collect. The plaza is also right where the shuttle to the cruise ships is located if you are cruising. Otherwise, you can board all the important vaporetta (water buses) from the Plaza or start your walking adventure of the city. The Garden Inn is like many Garden Inns - same standards. Nice people at the front desk because they deal with confused Americans and Brits all the time. It is located just in he outskirts of Mestre which we found to be a very nice place to visit. Two other buses pick you up and take you to Mestre for dinner. Much cheaper than Venice. Good happy hours places. If you buy the multi-day transportation tickets that are offered, then all the buses and vaporetti are covered under the one price. Buy them at the registration desk at the Garden Inn. This is a much better place to stay than in downtown Venice. You don't have to lug your luggage through the streets of Venice or pay someone a Doge's ransom to lug it for you. Remember, no cars in Venice and everything is carried by boat. Think about that when you choose a hotel. Our group of 3 spent 1 night post-cruise in a King Corner Evol suite (king bed and sofa bed). We arrived early from the cruise terminal and were able to complete the check in process. Since our room was not ready, the front desk stored our bags for free as we left to tour the city. The hotel and room were modern, clean,and well-kept. Furnishings were comfortable and overall room ambiance was relaxing. Our room was quiet despite the hotel's close proximity to the road. Wifi worked well throughout the room and public areas. Room outfitted with multiple electrical outlets (power to red outlets were unaffected by key card removal) Elevators (2 of them) were spacious and fast- large enough to fit all 3 of us and our carry on roller bags. Location was very convenient for bus travel as lines #5 and #19 stop just outside of the hotel entrance. The front desk also provided a map of the city and sold transit tickets for conveience. Breakfast was not included (costs 18 euros per person) but they did offer coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby. Front desk also had a small snack out in the afternoon. The hotel also arranged shuttle to FCO airport and was willing to adjust our shuttle time to an hour earlier than originally scheduled. Everything about Venice Italy was amazing except for this hotel. I am a Hilton honors member and always recommend Hilton to my friends but i am sadden to say that this hotel does not meet the Hilton criteria. The only reason i am rating two stars instead of 0 is because of a gentleman name Luca who works 3rd shift in this hotel. Luca is the only light in this hotel, our room had bugs in it and we waited in the lobby from 2am till 9am to talk to management so they can switch the room and during that time Luca provided us with food, blankets, a sweater , water and everything we needed . Every other staff member and management was rude, obnoxious and inconsiderate. This establishments lobby is flooded with flys and when i say flooded i mean it !! For instance when i would sit down about a dozen of flys would come all over me but when we informed the duty manager he implied that this is normal because there is an outside pool. Stayed from 5/23 - 6/03, and was completely amazed at the cleanliness, the service, and the location to Venice. I realized there had been some previous bad reviews, but I believe the message was received and they upgraded their rooms and staff. I chose the hotel mainly for the location, and it was worth it. I was skeptical, because of the reviews regarding the dirtiness of the rooms and the bad attitudes from the staff - but, during our stay, the rooms were clean and tidy regularly; and the staff went out of there way to make our stay welcoming. Highly Recommend this hotel when you go to Venice - believe me, its worth it! read more

Nice clean rooms. We couldn't enjoy the amenities as much cause we only had a couple days in Venice and of course we wanted to check out Venice. There's a shuttle that takes you to the airport for $8. Also, it's about a 10-15 minute bus ride to Venice. I'd stay here again. read more

It is close to the airport - that is why I stayed there. It is quite pricey. You can find a hotel in Venice for the same amount and save money on commuter costs. The service could be better - asked for an extra blanket and had to remind 3 times and wait for 2 hours. read more

As the other reviews state this hotel is an excellent base from which to to explore Venice. I thought taking the bus to Venice would be a bit of a hassle but it was not. It's two stops via bus #5 and no more than 10 minutes. Bus is easy to use and the hotel offers fare cards at the front desk. The hotel itself is modern HGI property with very nice rooms and supporting infrastructure including a free parking lot. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. In addition to being close to Venice the hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport. I can't see staying in Venice and paying those prices given what HGI offers. The only downside is the restaurant. While the food is good the prices are almost twice what we paid for similar meals in Venice. Eat/drink in Venice; sleep at HGI. Very nice experience read more

The Hotel was located near a bus stop that made it convenient to get into the area of the canals. The breakfast buffet was very good and the area became a restaurant in the evening. We ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed our meal. There is also another restaurant nearby that was also very good. read more

I was worried to stay so far away from Venice but staying near the airport was a good choice since we had an early flight the next day. It's also less expensive to stay in Mestre than in Venice. Getting to Venice by bus is super easy. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel and they run late at night. It ended up being the perfect hotel choice for us. I enjoyed the friendly staff and they provided bus information and a map of Venice. They even provide an airport shuttle for a little more than taking the airport bus- way better and worth the extra money. There is a pool and restaurant but we spent all of our time exploring our last day in Venice instead of the hotel. The hotel was modern clean and the people are friendly. Definitely exceeded my expectations and I liked it here. read more

I recently stayed at this hotel while on vacation in Venice and it was excellent! The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. They were welcoming and made the beginning of our vacation stress free! The rooms are very spacious and they had both European & North American electrical outlets - bonus!! We booked the breakfast package so we received a buffet breakfast in the morning which was pretty good also. They offered free wifi & check out time is 12 noon which was excellent as we were headed to the cruise terminal for 1 pm. The only negative experience we had was we had pre-arranged an airport shuttle with the hotel prior to arrival and when we got to the airport, nobody was there to pick us up and we had to pay double to hire a taxi. The taxi driver was excellent so it wasn't so bad, and the staff at the hotel were extremely apologetic which helped also. I would definitely recommend staying here as it's just a short drive to downtown Venice, and it is less than half the price of staying on the island. read more

Nice hotel especially for the price. If you want to stay close to Venice and go there as well as Mestre and other places nearby, perfect. Not a traditional Venice experience and in an urban location. An excellent affordable place to base a trip to Venice. The staff is very helpful (special thanks to Alex at the check-in desk for answering all of our silly questions) and the facility is more than adequate. I stay at this hotel a great deal. The staff is always very friendly. It has a great pool. The restaurant has very good food. Breakfast is usually pretty full of people. If you are on a tight schedule to catch a flight, give yourself some extra time. The hotel is off of the beaten path, but there is an awesome walking trail across the street. The gym is often very hot. They have free weights up to 20kg. There is an all in one machine, treadmill, elliptical, exercise bike, two adjustable benches, crunch machine, yoga mat, television, and a yoga ball. It is a short trip to the airport (around 10-15 minutes) and a shuttle bus stops right out front. The shuttle bus will can also take you to Venice. Plenty of parking if you have a car. The only downside is there is a pool party there every Thursday night with a live DJ, drinks, and loud music (that shuts down at 11PM). It doesn't bother me, but it can be difficult to find a parking spot during the party, long waits in the restaurant, and issues if you try to go to bed before 11PM. read more
