What a great hotel! The front desk staff were super helpful in getting my digital key set up for my stay. My room was right next to the pool area which was an extra perk. The hot tub was amazing. Clean and convenient location. When we checked into the room the toilet was plugged. They cleared it, we thought. Went out on the bikes and came back and used the toilet that still was plugged. We told management but nobody came to our rescue. They seemed to be indifferent and said they were busy with maintenance. We used the pool toilet down the hall into the next morning. This should have been rectified immediately or given a new room. Positive this room still has a plugged toilet. read more

The one thing that distinguished this hotel from others in Oshkosh was the delightful onsite restaurant and bar. Unfortunately the owner ahas shut down the nice restaurant area except for events. It appears the staple business traveler is not valued any longer as we now have only the small area in the lobby. This Hilton property is located on the Wittman Regional airport. It would be a great place to stay for the annual EAA Airventure. But the local management has decided to reserve the entire hotel for vendors and Airventure personnel for years in advance. Effectively thumbing their nose at any other Hilton customer. They do not care what your Hilton Honors status might be. So Hilton Honors members do not rate any consideration for a stay during EAA Airventure. This is a disgusting way to treat loyal Hilton customers. Hilton members should be staying at other hotels in the area during the rest of the year. read more

Stayed here one night: I did the online checkin with digital key. Super convenient. Clean comfy room. My room faced west, so there was a bit of traffic noise, but with the fan on it was better. Nice pool area, open 24 hours. They have a bar, but I didn't go. Breakfast in the lobby for $10. It's right next to the airport and has an access gate in the parking lot for airventure. The location is good, and its pretty clean, but lacking a few things that the other Garden Inns have. The beds aren't quite as comfortable as others, and the dispensers are not filled. The last Garden Inn I was at has liquid creamer and a couple choices of K cups. Here it is only dark roast and powder cream. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but when there's no free coffee in the lobby, it isn't ideal. Plus no continental breakfast is a downfall too. read more

We had four rooms for 2 nights. Two were facing one direction and the others in a different direction. We all heard traffic noise all night. It didn't stop at all, all night long. You could hear both the highway noise and the traffic on the road out from with the "thud thud" noise common around cement roads. The shampoo/conditioner/wash containers were empty in the shower, as well as the lotion. Great concept to save plastic but they were empty. My room had sequin on the floor in the bathroom and main carpet area (which I also saw in lobby bathroom). The hot buffet breakfast was probably lovely early in the morning but was never refreshed so the eggs were dried out on top and brown on the bottom from the chaffing dish. Same with oatmeal. The server was very sweet. The bar/restaurant was lovely and the bartender was an absolute doll - Very attentive, kind and helpful but the room itself was freezing. We were told the owner turns off the heat on that side of the building. It was absolutely freezing, especially sitting at a granite bar. The 8 of us left and hung out at the lobby fireplace to warm up. This would be a 1 star review if it wasn't for the kind bartender and waitstaff. In short, if you value a good night's sleep, stay somewhere else. read more

Customer service is key and what you expect when visiting a Hilton property. This particular site missed the mark. At check in, it was obvious they were struggling with meeting customer expectation. Upon my arrival, a mad bridal party was in the lobby as one of the bridesmaids waited at the desk asking where the driver was. After a bit of a wait, I was able to check in to my 2 rooms for the weekend. It was only upon checkout that my fun started. I turned in the keys and was not asked if I wanted a receipt. Typically I don't take one anyway as they have me as a Hilton Honors member and email my receipt. An hour later I received via email a receipt with charges to the on site Grill. I called the front desk and was promptly placed on hold. Eventually I told the answering party the issue and she placed me back on hold. After a second wait on hold, Daniel answered the phone. And then the fun starts. Daniel explained the breakfast we ate was not included. I explained that I paid Michelle for my wife and parties breakfast on my discover card. It was not to be charged to the room. Daniel again explained the breakfast was not free. Was he even listening to me??? At this time I offered to email him my receipt. I snapped a photo and emailed him while still on the phone waiting. Finally after reviewing my copy, Dan submitted and agreed to credit my card. No apology, no thank you for bringing the issue to his attention, nothing. Just frustration on a Sunday morning. This is an amazing hotel with awesome people. The venue itself is modern and rocking it. Located well to everything in Oshkosh, but the friendliness and attention to detail by the folks working here are awesome. Was pleased with cleanliness, comfort. However, we have proof that someone was inside our room during the night. We reported it to the front desk and asked the front desk for security footage. We were notified they do not have cameras in the hallways. On our way back to our room, we knocked on the adjoining room door and found it unlocked and empty. We then went inside the empty room and found that lock to the door of our adjoining room was broken. Someone literally walked from the hallway into our room while we slept. We called the front desk and demanded the GM come upstairs to see what we found. She kept apologizing and since I was visibly shaken, gave me a hug. We got our belongings and got the heck out of there. We have since attempted to contact the GM three times with absolutely no response. A police report with the City Of Oshkosh was also filed, but no follow up there either. If you stay here, make sure your adjoining door is locked. Shame on us for not double checking, but we didn't think we had to. I will never be so trusting ever again when I travel. read more

I was here in Oshkosh for a work assignment and stayed at the hilton inn garden for 4 nights. The service itself was good. The front desk was friendly and communicated well. Breakfast was excellent. The cooks and waitresses were wonderful. I like that they offered the typical breakfast options available at most continental breakfast, but what I loved was you can order 'made to order' options like omelets, eggs any was you want, breakfast potatoes, fresh cooked pancakes, and French toast. The breakfast reminds you of homemade goodness. My only complaint was the noise level during 2 afternoons of my stay. I was working split shifts, so I would come back to the room to rest between shifts from 11a-3p and they were doing full renovations to two rooms right next to me and this got pretty noisy with the banging and removable of furniture and installing carpet and so on & so on. The first day wasn't too bad but day two got pretty annoying. I contacted the front desk and asked if this was going to continue, could I get another room? Jackie assured me they would be done in a couple hours and there should be no more disturbance. And she was correct. I was just fine after that. So besides that, my stay was just fine. Stayed here while visiting Oshkosh for business. Hotel felt mediocre and outdated. All hallways were going through major remodeling... live while the rooms were still occupied. Smell of drywall primer paint smell, other remodeling material smell was strongly present in my room, giving me a headache. Probably because of the remodeling, echo in the hallways from people was very loud and well resonated in my room too. Not the way to do the remodeling... Front staff service was good, but the accommodations were not very comfortable. They forgot to clean our room on our second day, which left us with a shortage of towels, and overflowing trash can. Also, it looks like this is the only mid-level hotel that doesn't offer free breakfast. What gives? To make things worse, our toilet had trouble working (yes, I blame the toilet). I also thought my pillow was way way too soft. My head sank in and I didn't feel like I had a pillow at all. . My stay was one disappointment after another, met with the most unaccommodating staff I've ever experienced within the Hilton family of hotels. Please let me detail below. 2/24/19 * Upon check-in, the young man at the front desk was very pleasant (around 7 pm). 5 stars to him. * Later that evening, around 10 pm, I called the front desk with a complaint that my room was cold and wind was actually blowing through the window. The heavy darkening curtains were actually blowing each time the wind outside gusted. I thought there was a problem with the window (maybe a crack or bad seal) and just wanted it looked at. The woman who answered my call just said, "Well, we aren't used to having wind gusts, so just deal with it. You'll just have to turn up your heat. Don't worry, you're not paying for it". There was absolutely no concern for my situation. There was no offer to have someone look at it, no offer of blankets and no offer of changing rooms. Just me, "dealing with it". o I am not from your area, am nowhere "used to" dealing with the cold temperatures that you have and had travelled for about 12 hrs that day. * By the morning, I inspected my window again. There was actually ice formed on the inside of the window. Please see the attached picture. It looks like condensation, but no, it is actually ice. I had to "pick at it" with my fingernail. Unbeknownst to me, it was actually a sliding window which I didn't even think was allowed in hotels due to liability of either someone falling out or an outsider breaking in. Anyway, the window was actually cracked open and unlocked. o How is this safe? How did that make it past a "room check preparation" to leave an exterior window propped open and unlocked? That is a security issue and a safety issue. o I was able to close the window but there was still wind leakage through the sliding seam in the window. Around 7 am, I asked the young woman at the front desk to speak with a manager. She told me that the managers do not keep regular office hours and gave me your cards. I said ok, I will contact the managers, but I needed her to please send someone to make the repair. She said she would have maintenance look at it and then started other chores. I stood there and she asked why. I said I'm waiting to see you write the maintenance ticket. She responded rather sharply that she didn't appreciate my tone. I responded that I didn't appreciate the way I was treated overnight and didn't actually trust that my complaint would be resolved. Yes, I was in a bad mood from the previous evening. o I requested that the room get fixed or that I get changed to a new room. o I went to the lobby to make a call to Mike Cluff at the number listed on the card. The same desk worker who I had just encountered answered the phone. I asked to be transferred to Mike so I could leave a message. The transfer never happened and I was not able to leave a message. o When I returned that evening from work, there was no longer an issue with my window. * You have to very terrible front desk workers. It is whoever was working at 10 pm on 2.24.19 and around 7 am on 2.25.19. They are inhospitable, incapable of handling guest complaints and incapable of upholding the Hilton Promise that is posted in your elevator. * Later that evening, my entire work group (4 us of all together) decided to have dinner in your on-site hotel. We ordered nothing that should've been too complicated. Here was the food order to the kitchen - all from the menu: o Cheese curds with a side salad o Shrimp salad o Daily special of pot roast with mashed potato o Steak with mashed potato o This simple food order took over 2 hrs to be delivered to our table. We actually got chummy with the table beside us while complaining about the service. Note that the restaurant was not packed with people and there was numerous empty tables. The waitress was not rude, but again, there was a complete lack of hospitality. There was no offer of any sort of accommodation for our inconvenience. We could've eaten a much nicer quality meal at a proper restaurant for that amount of wait time. In most restaurants, when the kitchen is slow, etc the waitress tries very much to keep the clients happy by bringing drinks and appetizers, etc. Nope, not here. Just sit there and risk your health on the old wrinkled hot dogs while it takes 2 hrs to make a salad. * By the way, the shower tiles in my room were very mildewed and need a good scrub. Monday was a terrible day. 2/25/19 o I joined my work group downstairs for breakfast in your lobby. While sitting there the waitress spilled coffee on my khaki pants (and I was about to meet a client). She did try and be accommodating with a wet towel. She also did at least comp my breakfast, which didn't matter since I had a breakfast included rate anyway. o This waitress did at least try to be hospitable. The great staff they once had (Cathy, Tim, et al) are all gone, replaced by younger, inexperienced, and less-capable people. Additionally, they remodeled the place with a motel theme, indicative of a Quality Inn or Super Eight. I was disappointed in the quality of this hotel. Oddly, there was a vent in my bathroom (mounted high near the ceiling) that was aligned with a vent cover of the room nextdoor. I could see the light and hear clearly the bathroom activity of my neighbor -- which I am sure he/she could hear sounds from mine. It was creepy and an invasion of privacy. Walls and window were thin allowing noise to travel easily -- especially traffic noise. I will not stay there again. read more

This Hilton Garden Inn is our place to go when we attend the Hops and Props Beer Festival at the EAA. It is, by all accounts, your typical Hilton mid-range property. Nothing special, but nothing horrendous either. The location can't be beat it's the nearest hotel to the EAA property and overlooks the runways. Most Hiltons will offer a complimentary breakfast to Hilton Honors members, but this one does not. Not that big of a deal as I'm more interested in just getting a good cup of coffee in the morning rather than a breakfast, but it would nice to have the consistency between all Hilton properties Additionally, the front desk staff is always a little standoffish. All things considered, we will continue to book this hotel as it meets our needs for an annual event. read more

I was there during Airventure so it was very crazy with a wedding going on and fly in guests arriving. The food in the bar was good and typical salad with chicken or burgers but it took over an hour to arrive. The bartender was attentive though and gave us a free round to lessen the hunger pains. I am a road warrior for work and prefer to stay in Hiltons. This hotel won me over the day that wind chill was -30 degrees and it had snowed a few inches the night before. When I got out to my car around 7.30AM, every car in the parking lot had their windows ice/snow free. I have never had a hotel go so above and beyond for it's guests. The service in the breakfast area was wonderful as well. I would certainly stay here again. read more

Stayed at this location June 11-13th. The hotel room had hair in the sink, on the toilet, and in the tub in the bathroom. The lighting didn't work on one side of the bed, so we called to have it looked at...no one came. The pool was dirty with bandaids and hair ties in the main pool, mentioned to the front desk, no one cared. Left our phone in the room when we checked out, hotel staff (Tiffany) confirmed they found it, called us from the phone, assured us she would send the phone back to our home address, Tiffany sent us emails stating the hotel would send, waited 10 days, no phone, called spoke with Christopher, Hotel Manager, found out Tiffany was fired, stole our phone and Christopher wouldn't do anything to rectify this theft. Now, won't respond to any emails and phone number given goes to another Hotel Manager's voice mail. We feel this hotel is mismanaged, very unprofessional, completely corrupt, and should never be stayed at if you are in the Oshkosh area!!! Find another hotel, go to Appleton or Fond du Lac, if needed, stay away from this hotel, especially if you're part of a kids sports team, find lodging elsewhere. read more

Great place to stay in Oshkosh! I've stayed here for conferences a couple of times now, and it's nice to see that they've recently done some upgrades and design changes. Nice, clean hotel - good amenities - great location near the highway. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are pretty spacious. Only downside is that it seems a wee overpriced for the Oshkosh area -- but maybe that's because I tend to visit when a major conference is in town. All in all, a reliable, nice hotel. read more
