Location was very convenient. Beds were OK; they were too soft for my comfort. Bathroom was nice. Gym was good, my friend who I was traveling with was excited to see a Peleton, but it wasn't connected to the internet, so I guess that wasn't useful. One big thing, there could have been plugs for phones near both beds. There weren't that many plugs in the room. There were on one wall, but not next to both twin beds. It's with regret that I have to update my review for Hilton Liverpool City Centre, after a recent stay here, it's become clear to me that the hotel isn't close to deserving a five-star rating. While the hotel may be good at sorting out problems when they arise, there seems to be a problem either big or small, or a combination of them, which arises whenever I stay at this property to the point where I feel they can't deliver a trouble and worry-free stay. I've had issues ranging from the fire alarm going off to having to change rooms in the middle of the night and being overcharged to state a few. On my most recent stay, I was originally charged for my "free upgrade" as a Diamond member and had to send proof of my original room rate to be refunded the difference and I also had an issue with breakfast. The location remains excellent, it's located right next to the Liverpool One Shopping Centre, and rooms have views of the centre, as well as Albert Dock... or on the other side of the hotel, the less exciting bus terminal. I do think the rooms are outdated, on my most recent stay, I was placed in a King Executive Room on the sixth floor, which was a free upgrade as a Hilton Honors Diamond Member. The room felt very dark due to a lack of lighting and a dark colour scheme with red/burgundy, also there was only one bed-side plug socket, which was very low down, on one side of the bed only, and I had to unplug the alarm to use it, so the rooms could certainly be due an upgrade to bring them into 2024. The lobby is very visually pleasing and modern, and this doesn't match the state of some of the rooms. Even the TV, was visually in poor shape, it was old and small. The noise insulation also is poor, it's fairly easy to hear people's conversations as they pass by. The facilities inside the regular rooms are fine, I did find the desk area to be very compact with a bar that would get in the way. There wasn't a coffee machine, robes or slippers in the non-suites either. I liked how they had both a bath and standalone shower, but I found the bathroom again to be poorly executed, the taps on the sink were close to the edge, it was impossible to wash my hands without knocking into it and the controls of the taps and shower remain difficult to manage. Breakfast standards are also inconsistent, I've had both good and bad breakfasts here. On my most recent stay, I decided to order breakfast in my room. There was originally confusion regarding the time of breakfast, and even the front desk couldn't tell me for sure what time breakfast ended. The tray charge for breakfast is very misleading, it turned out that if you have breakfast included, you must pay a £3.50 upgrade fee to have it in your room AND a tray charge on top of that of £6. That means just to have Breakfast in my room, it cost me £9.50. It'd turn out very expensive if you had to pay the breakfast rate on top of that. To add insult to injury, my breakfast just didn't taste good. The orange juice tasted like bitter cordial, the eggs were cold and bland, the single slice of gluten-free toast had no butter, and they also put black pudding on the plate which I didn't ask for (and found disgusting), the omelette also was over-cooked and the cheese was far too strong. The Executive Lounge at the hotel also is a great idea but poorly executed, they have a hotel with stunning views of Liverpool and Albert Dock, but the Lounge is a tiny room on the ground floor, in the Lobby, with no windows looking outside. Alcoholic Drinks and canapes are available between 6 and 8 PM and are self-serve style with a selection of spirits which I certainly enjoyed. My bed and pillows were comfortable and I did manage to sleep reasonably well, I am normally able to check in early and request a later check-out at this hotel too, which is another positive and felt mostly valued as a Diamond member despite the large surcharge for breakfast in bed. Overall, there are some positives, the location is good and the staff are mostly friendly, I would consider staying here again depending on the price point but it would not be my first-choice. 3* read more

We arrived around 2 pm and we were assigned a room on the 2nd floor... when we got off the lift I immediately noticed a strong smell of smoke/ urine. The room was just horrific filled with a strong smoke smell! The sweet maid called up and complained for us. We quickly returned to the front desk and got a new room #526 and it was pristine and had a gorgeous view! This smoking thing was odd because previous hotels had the "no smoking" sign on the door. Maybe level 2 is reserved for frat parties or hen do's. I was confused because I read that it was actually illegal to smoke in hotels in England... I do have a lung disease from years of smoking so it was horrible to be on that floor for one minute! For our 2 day stays we've passed on the maid service and just retrieve towels and soap from the cart. My husband arranged for us to have a traditional English tea. This was a nice surprise because I was wondering why we had to get back to the hotel @4. Wow the tea was delicious and the finger sandwiches and cakes were amazing. That was our dinner! Super fun. We were allowed to choose a nice table in the bar area instead of the dining room. We wanted to take advantage of our free drink tickets too. We had the included breakfast in all our hotels and this one was pretty weak, the fruit was bad with only fresh oranges. The eggs and sausages were good, and they had one of those great coffee machines. The staff here were all wonderful especially Dolly at the front desk who helped us with the room change. We had a wonderful man bring me 2 robes and 2 free drink tickets for our rough check in experience, I tried and tried to find out his name since I forgot... he was LOVELY to us. 5 stars to him alone. The location was absolutely incredible with 4 museums across the street. I was surprised to see that Liverpool had a Tate museum here! The staff - their friendly service and openness - earned this review more than the Hilton itself. Arriving exhausted from my overnight flight from the states, I went to check in around 9am on a Sunday. I was kindly reminded that check in wasn't until 3pm and since they had a full night the evening before, there was little they could do. They offered to check my bags and would see what they could do. Unfortunately, it was rather windy and I was tired, so I barely managed to kill 15 minutes walking around town before I was back in the lobby. Apparently, the staff noticed and jumped into action. First, they walked me to the executive lounge were I could relax and eat some free breakfast and enjoy a few moments to relax. Then, they managed to turn around a room for me by 10:15! If that isn't the definition of customer service, I don't know what is! They have continued to provide top-notch service all week! Why not 5-stars you ask? Well, the beds are a bit tough. Additionally, I cannot give a top rating to any hotel that charges for internet (15 pounds/day!). I hear 'free internet' is not as common for UK/EU hotels, but still I cannot make an exception. read more

For someone who's not a fan of huge corporate hotels, the Liverpool Hilton did more than pleasantly surprise. It's a very modern building situated just opposite the docks, meaning great views from most of the windows (although, admittedly, my view was 30% docks, 70% bus depot!) I was lucky enough to have one of the executive rooms on the sixth floor, I have no idea of room rates as I was also lucky enough not to have to pay. The room and bathroom were finished to a high standard, the bathroom having a separate bath and shower. There was an executive bar on the sixth floor but unfortunately I didn't get chance to use this. Wifi was available, but unfortunately you had to pay for this. The bed - oh the bed! - was pretty much the most comfortable I have ever slept in, not good for encouraging you out in the morning to attend the conference! It was also ginormous - you could fit at least four people in this bed (if you were so inclined!). The room had all the usual hotel facilities, the only downside was that the minibar appeared to be locked (someone had obviously warned them I was coming). The breakfast involved a massive selection, ranging from a full English, to cereals, pastries, continental, and pancakes. It was self-service but the quality was good in comparison to other hotels I have stayed in. The Conference facilities were good and the whole weekend panned out well. The Gala dinner was a slight letdown, but meals produced for 200 odd people never tend to be exceptional. The Prima bar downstairs was a great area to socialise. The bar also provided food, and the drinks, although pricey, were good. I also managed to get my photo taken with Glen Johnson, England and Liverpool full back, who apparently lives at the Hilton. I have to add that this was 3am, I was a little tipsy, and I took great enjoyment in telling him I was a Manchester United fan! read more

Stayed here weekend 4th June and have to say I was so disappointed The hotel itself was fine, lovely decor, clean and well kept The staff had no clue (except one) and our stay was more similar to an episode of faulty towers to be honest Once we checked in, we had a few drinks in our room and ordered room service, 2 toasties, 2 club sandwiches...yes they were dear at £10 each, but you come to expect that with room service The food was poor, over done, in some parts burnt,dry and to be honest just horrible. We couldn't eat it, so rang down to have it taken away Decided to go to our own rooms to get ready for heading out, only to discover from the couple we were travelling with, that amidst getting changed another couple entered their room...my friend was half naked and was understandably upset and extremely embarrassed! The other couple were embarrassed too, but it was reception who had given them the key to that room We put it behind us, went out and had a great night Ordered room service for 10:30/11, got a phone call at 11.05 to say it was running late, it arrived at 11:25, checkout is at 12 so we quickly started eating Half of what we ordered was missing, as well as no spoons to actually eat it, and to top it off there was a very long blonde hair in my hubbys fruit salad.... After complaining we were offered a discount off breakfast (which was included in the whopping £200 bill!) Checkout time...the guy who dealt with us had absolutely no clue what he was doin, kept calling us by a different name, & insisted we had been there two nights instead of one and that he would refund one night off?? Uh hello? We were only there one night! "No, you weren't sir" *cue all patience being lost at this point* Were then told we would get a refund, but as he was so inept we asked for a copy of the bill, to discover it was refunded to the couple who had entered our room by mistake! At this point a Russian girl on the front desk took over, and had it sorted literally in 5 mins...she is the only reason this farce of a hotel is getting 1 star She gave us a decent discount and an upgrade to the executive lounge on our next visit...which to be honest wouldn't be anytime this century read more

Great place to relax for a drink. Their selection is quite good too! The staff seem nice and welcoming. The only time you won't get a peaceful experience is when there's a football match on. Other than that you might see some live (calm) music, candle-lit tables and mood lighting. The rooms themselves are extremely nice and I had no complaints about comfort or noise during my time there. The staff also seem to go our of their way to help. I'd certainly recommend this hotel and bar. read more

After stopping here twice already we thought 3rd time a charm - oh how wrong were we. Upon arriving we were thanked for checking in online but told the room we had originally been checked into wasn't available but another room was would we like it- well after a bit of a journey from Newcastle to Liverpool it was nice to think I could freshen up a bit earlier so we took the room - bad choice debs very bad choice you see when we entered the room there were lamps over the bed so it would have meant at some point during the night I would have either ended up with a metal rod impailed in my eye or a bruise on my forehead. So after working out how I was going to sleep without causing any harm I unpacked (this was a 6 day stay over so i like things homely) freshened up went out got a lush bath bomb got back had a bath had a nap went to get ready to go out for food completely relaxed and bam no lights - at 18:30 it's starting to get dark and this isn't the romantic setting I was going for! So other half went down to reception only to come back with house cleaning who checked the plugs and switches and didn't know what was wrong so he went back down to reception only for another house cleaner to come up with new cards and said we were moving rooms - were we? No one had phoned from reception to tell us this and by this time it's starting to get a little bit dark in the room so off I strop to re pack my suitcases which everything just got dumped into and away we went to the other room - my point was not one member of staff asked could they help with our bags could the provide a torch to help me Pack nothing. Anyways 6 days one and we went down to settle our bill when they tried to over charge us for the room upgrade mike my other half had a bill confirming one price and the hotel tried to charge us about £200 more so after a frustrating 30 minutes of the price is right they offered to take our price in which we had the email for read more

Stayed here for Rock n Roll Liverpool and was situated close to everything. Staff was friendly, check in was easy. My room was quite and well put together and clean. Plenty of restaurants close by and walking distances to sights in the area. Beds were cozy and comfortable and the room itself had a view of the boats. Free internet for being a Hilton Member and booking through the website. The Executive Suite was large and had plenty of food options for breakfast and snacks. When I checked out at the end of the stay, they let me hold my bags at the desk until I was done with lunch and then take come back and pick them up when I was ready to go. read more

Stopped over for one night here last weekend. We were fortunate to get a parking space on site. Good and friendly service at reception and in the bar. Enjoyed a few cocktails and the singer on the Saturday night was fun. The rooms are a fair size; we were on the 6th floor. It was quiet for the most part, although I did hear a few ships blowing their horns in the night! The hotel itself is nice and clean you can tell they really take care of the lobby. Yet neglected all the rooms. My toilet hardly flushes. Bent lampshades. Just dust everywhere Their is stains all over the carpets. My comforter smells like mold. But it's the Hilton so I was like whatever But what really just made this one star is the service here is incredibly lazy. The restaurant/room service is just god awful The women in the restaurant sit around and chat and don't even take any orders every time I ate there twice !!! I had to ask the front desk to bring me a waitress when I see them all gossiping at the bar. The one with a side face piercing dermal is just the worst. She doesn't care at all for her job and just barks instead of greets. All the waitress tho are just straight up terrible. This is a bit of a jewel in Liverpool's crown. Opened recently, as you walk along Albert dock the hotel towers over the surrounding sky line. With over 200 rooms all with fantastic views of the city it is a fantastic addition to the city's hospitality armour. The executive lounge on the 7th floor is rather lush, access to which is limited to those who check into suites and executive rooms and comes with complimentary breakfast. I was particularly fond of the 24 hour gym facilities as well as restaurant and Pima bar which regularly and understandably place host to various parties. This hotel really is a contemporary marvel to be gawked at indeed, and reflects Liverpool's hospitality sector development over the last few years. Conveniently it is also the only fifteen minutes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and less than a mile from Liverpool Lime Street Station marking it as a convenient destination, whether it is for business or pleasure. So if you unashamedly accept the convenient and monotone comfort zone nature of all the other Hilton's you'll be right at home here!! read more

I really like the look of the Hilton, which I am aware sounds strange at first because it has a very rigid, business like style to its architecture but I take this to be a very elegant addition to Liverpool's skyline. The slight curve the building has something reminiscent to the UN building or some of those other great New York attempts at being modern and fresh built back in that city's hey dey of the 1950s. This maintained within the rooms at the Hilton, which while still being just a hotel room - I have to say that I was only in a standard double and did not see what the more luxuriant rooms the venue had to offer - it was nonetheless stylish and was kept from being dull through the wood finish throughout. Of course what makes the Hilton stand out from most hotles is the great view looking out at either the Albert Dock and Mersey River or over Chavasse Park. When the sun is coming up and these places are empty makes for a good start to the day. read more

Stayed her for one night recently and if I could have gave it no stars I would, but it basically only gets one star because of one of the reception staff (a Russian girl) and the actual location of the hotel other than that, there basically wasn't an hour outside of sleeping that something either was wrong or really badly organised on the hotels fault. We checked in and went to the rooms to have a drink and some room service before we left for the evening for a concert, so we ordered 2 toasties and 2 club sandwiches, at £10 each! And the club sandwich was really poor dry over cooked and brown chicken, the egg was burnt so we complained and it was taken of the bill, so thought its ok not a big deal. Next we went to get ready and the other couple we where away with done the same until a girl and fella opened there door with a key card and walked in while they where getting ready and seen the girl in her underwear, the couple had just checked in and reception had gave them the room !! To say we where annoyed was an understatement! So we complained and they actually didn't have a clue, so we left for the night and enjoyed our night, came back to the hotel and put our breakfast room service cards out, and wanted breakfast between 10.30 and 11am, it arrived at 11.20am, with no toast that was ordered, so they had to go get some more, ate my hot breakfast and wanted some muesli so poured the milk and there was no spoons, rang reception and had to get spoons brought up, was told that there would be no charge for the breakfast because of the lateness etc (even know breakfast was included in the room rate) and while I was waiting on the spoon coming I decided to eat my fruit salad and when I got to the last piece of salad, right at the very bottom of the bowl was a big dirty blonde hair! (Considering I am bald and what hair I do have is black, and my wife has black hair!) So that was it complaint number 5 was rang down to reception and they offered my 25% off the stay, to cut a long story short at check out they again as a customer service team didn't even know how long we had stayed, we where checking out as a group and they only checked out one of the rooms, so we complained and got a good discount on the stay but when we asked for a print out of the refunds etc they gave us a print out with the wrong names on it and found out that the guy who checked us out actually didn't refund anything! So complaint number 6 insued! After nearly an hour we where finally happy after the Russian girl I mentioned at the start actually was brilliant and was very good at her job! But top tip don't always trust a big name hotel like the Hilton very very poor experience and will prob not stay in a Hilton ever because of this one hotel! read more

I recently accompanied my husband to Liverpool since he had business on a Friday there and we live 4 hours away. We figured why not stay the night and see the sights of Liverpool? It was a great suggestion! We are Diamond members of the Hilton Hotels and are always traveling never really being disappointed with any Hilton Brand Hotels usually. This Hilton was one that did not disappoint! Fantastic customer service, fabulous clean rooms with really comfortable beds, and great views from our room of the 'One Liverpool' sights and sounds! This Hilton is smack dab right in the middle of some of the best restaurants, shopping, and sights and just right across the street from the harbor. They (the Hilton) have a great bar and restaurant as well and an executive level. One note though; the wireless internet isn't strong above the 5th floor so you will probably have to plug into the wire. Also, if you don't have the Valet park your car, which was £30, you have to park at one of the parking garages which will run you about £9 and is a little bit of a walk, but not much. I would drive up and take your luggage out first before you park your car. I'll be recommending this hotel to friends and family. read more

The self serve breakfast was good, however there were only mugs no cups and saucers( i like a my tea in a cup)! on the whole the hotel was good, i found it a bit impersonal and the staff could have been more helpful. read more

We booked a table at the Pima Lounge in the Hilton for Champagne Afternoon Tea, at £19 per head I can highly recommend it. Although we got there 15 minutes early our private booth was laid out and waiting for our arrival. We started with the glass of champagne then a small variety of finger sandwiches and lots of little desserts were brought to us on very nice afternoon tea stands, only negative remark being I had expected and looked forward to a Smoked Salmon & Chive Cream sandwich (as advertised) this didn't arrive, in its place was Tuna which I didn't complain about as I didn't want to spoil the afternoon. We had a choice of coffee or tea, we chose one of each and they arrived steaming hot in large pots - very nice !! Service was European (quite slow) however it was nice in that we didn't feel at all rushed therefore creating a much more relaxed atmosphere despite the Pima Lounge being busy. The horse shoe shaped little bay we sat within was perfect and the lighting in the Pima Lounge was impressive, staff very polite and courteous - in summary a lovely way to spend an hour or two to unwind in style within a very relaxing atmosphere. The brand new Hilton Liverpool. Just opened not even 2 weeks prior to my arrival, and what a nice looking hotel. Being in a fantastic location next to the Liverpool One shopping center, patrons are within walking distance to almost all areas of downtown liverpool. Some local attractions nearby include the beatles story, the albert dock, Liverpool one, chinatown, Liverpool cathedral, and a great selectiong of bars and nightclubs. As you step into the hotel, every design aspect is modern, elegant, and clean. The lobby, bar, and restaurant is 1 massively joined area boasting a feeling of spaciousness yet maintaining noise level to a minimum with clever design and decorative features. The rooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable. Most of the lighting in the hotel is incadescent and not energy saving bulbs, so you get a nice warm, ambient feel rather than the cool institutional pale greenish glow. Restaurant food is quite good and reasonably priced for a UK Hilton, it has perhaps the best T-bone steak I've had since leaving North America in the summer. Beware of the whole seabass if you are not good at picking out bones, yes it IS a whole fish (sans guts and fin). House keeping seems to be a bit lacking in their ability to clean though.. every glass in my room and bathroom had a very visible while residue inside them, kinda like dried milk in a glass. It leads me to think they wiped it with some cleaner rather than replace and properly wash them. My sink also had dried up shaving cream all down the front of it when i checked in and not once did they catch it when room service was done. Another very anoying thing about the rooms is that the towels are so new that they dont absord water very well and gets fuzz ALL over yourself, clothes, hair, eyes, contact lens. It was so bad the carpet outside of the bathroom door was covered in fuzz after 2 days of normal entering and exiting the bathroom. Fuzz in my eyes stuck to the contacts irritated the heck outta me. Service wise everything was fantastic. Very friendly concierge, hostess, servers and front desk receptionists. Many staff members in suits just hanging around without name tags and greating you so it was a bit confusing as to why a stranger is so friendly haha. Only bad experience i had was from the front desk manager. Forgot her name but she had blonde hair and was the most miserable B I have ever encountered at a Hilton. Either she was having a very bad day or perhaps thinks I drove over her beloved childhood dog and made it her mission in life to glare and show attitude towards me. Nicely located near the Albert Dock with views across the waterfront and the Mersey River. The Liverpool One shopping center is next to the Hotel. It is a couple of minutes walk into the heart of the city. The congress center Liverpool Arena and the Convention Centre are close. The rooms are comfortable and there is an executive lounge. Hotel guests come second here to guests arriving for nightly dinners in the meeting and conference rooms on the 2nd floors. Reception staff never raise their head when you walk past them and the bar, although pretty is tiny and on a weekend impossible to get a drink let alone a seat. I can only judge the kitchen, but the meal I had on this Tuesday evening has to go down a just about the most uninspiring food I've ever been served by a "quality" restaurant. The starter - potted duck was ok if a little bland, but the main course - a speciality "scouse" could have been sued under the trade's description act. A teacup full of dry and rather tasteless meat and potatoes the latter so under cooked they were crunchy, two boiled baby beetroot and a tablespoon of sauerkraut. read more
