I drove an hour out of my way on my road trip because I was craving Indian food, and this place definitely did not disappoint. I will stop by again for sure when I am back in the area. The beef in the Beef Saagwala was a bit on the dry side but the spinach sauce was rich and succulent, whilst that old standby Bombay Aloo was well above average. In addition, the rice was beautifully prepared and we also enjoyed a sweet but mildly spicy Peshawari Naan. We're long standing fans of the Jewel but had been of the opinion that its best days were behind it. However, it now seems to be under new management and the food is seriously good. And this was our second delicious recent meal from there, so we know it wasn't a freak result. The servings were very generous and we'd obviously over-ordered. Not a problem as we'll enjoy the leftovers tonight! The curry is tasty and it comes out quickly, the price is fantastic and you get views over mission bay if you sit outside. The service isn't the friendliest, but when I went I got quick professional service, my meal came out quickly, it was really tasty and it was $10. Can't ask for more than that. I'd recommend it for a great cheap lunch.
