As someone who likes beer and was also in Kiel for the long weekend, I feel like it was inevitable…read morethat I would visit Kieler Brauerei. It's centrally-located in the city center but also kind of small so you may walk past it initially.
They weren't crowded when I came in around lunchtime and seemed like they were prepared for tourists (me).
I ordered a flight of three beers because I wanted to try their selection. I'm not a fan of dark beers and one was dark but all the beers were fine and they came in branded mugs which is great for photos.
They also offered food but I was only there for beer.
There is plenty of seating inside, where it is also kind of dark. They have informational signage throughout that tells you a little about their history and how they make the beer.
