But for business trips, the WiFi in the second building, first floor was really weak. I cannot use this hotel for business trip, anymore. Sadly the handling of my official request to improve the situation for me was more than unprofessional. I was told that they could get the boss, but he would possibly not do anything about it. Need I say more?

Arrived here after a long drive of about 600km and was glad to find the hotel in such pretty…read moresurroundings in a quiet street - far away from the motorway. An amazing view of two bridges ("Old Lillebælts bro" and "New Lillebælts bro") spanning the waters. Ample parking-space, when I did find it. I was so tired that I missed the exit and drove straight to the main entrance (wondering grumpily why the hotel only had 2 parking-spaces, and why they were in front of the entrance....hihi). The hotel was a conference center and there was a few people attending some conference while I stayed at the hotel, but they didn't bother me. Note: The ingenious corridor next to the main hotel desk. Called "Tankegangen" (corridor of thoughts) - it featured many wise sayings from famous people from fiction and real life. What a brilliant touch. Top marks!! The hotel staff greeted me and showed me to my room situated on the top floor overlooking the courtyard. A small room, but it was just about right for me (lonesome-voyage only!). I have always been partial to the danish people being so friendly and helpful. This stay was no exeption. In the evening I enjoyed a beautiful sunset (compliments of the management no doubt..(cheeky!) - had a good nights sleep and was refreshed the next morning - ready for my onwards journey. A hearty Danish breakfast put the final "cherry on top" on my stay at the hotel. Too bad it was only for the one night this time. Thank you - all the staff of the Severin - for a brilliant stay! Awful customer service. Front desk guy Arne was not friendly and was very nasty…read more Waitress didn't speak English. For $92 US dollars per night we got a shared bathroom with 2 small beds. We booked through booking.com and the price was 600 kr ($92 US). We had to pay extra for sheets (50 kr per person), towels (50 kr per person), and an extra bed for our 4 to (200 kr). Breakfast NOT included. wifi was included. Room was about 2 blocks away from the castle with no view of the castle nor the road. Room was clean and seemed to be newly renovated. For dinner: 149 kr for buffet which was mediocre. We asked for children's menu but there was no menu. Our children don't eat potatoes and pork ("buffet"). Fortunately we had left over pasta from lunch. They ate that. Arne guy again very nasty. He didn't say anything while we were eating but only at the end (when paying) he told us that he needed to charged the kids as well since outside food was not allowed (he should have told us from the beginning and offered us child friendly menu!). They offer a ghost walk through the castle at 8:30 pm (sunsets at 10:30pm in the summer). We didn't do the tour. We figured we were again going to have problems. Across the street there is a gramslotskrot. We didn't try it was looks nice and much closer to the castle. Edit: we sent an email to Gram Slot and they have refunded our money. Thank you! It was just not what was advertised in booking.com

The apartments are super modern and well equipped so we felt very much at home during our stay. I'd highly recommend this hotel to other travelers looking for a homie feel with great water views.
