We were in this part of Tennessee for only two days admiring the colorful fall leaves around the area. I am celiac and was so hungry. I had read a review from a celiac who had eaten here. I talked to the young waitress and she showed me the gluten free area on the menu. I got the pulled pork plate with green beans and slaw. It was all amazingly good and I didn't get glutened!!! I was extremely happy to have a great meal. My husband got the same but with different sides. It was pricy as compared to our home town in Bama but it was worth it. Man I hate giving a bad review! Ordered dinner for take out. $70.00 plus a $10 tip. A la cart 1/2 lb brisket and marinated chicken. Side of fries, street corn, two side salads- blue cheese dressing on the side. One chicken sandwich. The price seemed fine for the order but when we got the order home, we literally laughed. Four thin slices of brisket (cold), a tiny piece of chicken (dry, tough and cold - threw it away), sandwich- a piece of chicken on two slices of white bread (cold, soggy and the bread literally fell apart), 15 fries (cold and soggy), the worst street corn ever, and no salad dressing. What a great place we stumbled on today. Drove up from Alabama to do the Amish wagon tour. Afterwards started looking on Yelp for a great place to eat. Hinie's wasn't listed but their road side sign is a standout. I felt it was worthy of being added to Yelp so added their info & talked to Mama J about it. I told her I put their info in & she is going to have the family add more to it After operating Hinie's Food Truck for years the family decided to open a restaurant. Including a venue for weddings, reunions, party's & meetings. Also a gift shop full of snacks, sauces, linens & T-shirts. Bill had the pulled pork grilled pepper jack cheese sandwich with Cole slaw. He loved both. I had the Garden Salad it is huge & delicious, also ordered a side of green beans & Mac& Cheese. The green beans were cooked home style & great. The Mac & cheese was creamy & had a lot of cheese sauce so was not dry like some places we've eaten. After our lunch we wandered into the gift shop where we met Mama J. We started visiting & she told us how they decided as a family to start the restaurant. Three generations work here. Mama J gave us the grand tour & explained how they pull this new enterprise off. We think they will be a great success. And will be back when in the area to try more of the menu. read more

Our first time! Looking forward to a good pizza in town. Waited just a few minutes,,,Our server was lost on water no ice?? Brought by babies cup back kept looking into it?? I asked, he said there might be something in there??? Ordered a margarita, worst ice slushy ever! Sent it back figured we'll stick with a draft. Met with a manger with zero! PR skills, told me I was paying for it because it was TN state law she could not take it off my bill, and that all restaurants in town were breaking this law. So rude and brass! I was leaving. She then had the server come over and take the draft off the ticket that never came to the table, But wait thought we couldn't take alcohol off a bill in Tn? she barked back, you didn't drink it, I didn't drink the margarita?? So long bad story short. Walked out of Hines with a sip of Pepsi and paid 15.00?? Manger turned with a nose in the air and a Marlboro pack sticking from the back pocket of her jeans! This place is HUGE! Very nice and new inside, clean and bright. The bar is also big, but I could tell their more catered towards their dining seats. The food is pretty solid, fair priced and good portions. I recommend the smoked chicken ( it's pulled ) and their BBQ chicken pizza, pulled pork nachos and the smash burger. Strange entrance / exit really threw me off, almost like a Cracker Barrel setup. But I think they hit their mark! read more

We've tried the pulled pork, so tender and moist and the brisket is cooked to perfection. But TODAY, at Mr. Tripp's suggestion, I tried the double SMASH BURGER! We decided to try this place after several people recommended it. We were not disappointed. The place is great looking on the inside. We were able to be seated very quickly and the server was very friendly. The menu is limited for now but there were good options. Food came out fast and it was very good! We are coming back soon! Although, I would still recommend this place, I would be careful about what time you choose to go. This place used to be really good before they got more popular. Now, it seems like the cooks don't care and the waiters just wanna go home. Each time I visit food quality deteriorates and the wait time increases. I will write a review on dine in later First let me say that the food is good but I caution you to be careful when ordering poundage We really love the chopped brisket If you buy it by the pound it's $18 and half pound is $12 We ordered 1 1/2 pounds and they charged us the 2 individual prices . I understand that if I was only buying a half pound. Should have bought 2 pounds But here is the biggest problem Neither one weighed as much as I paid for Both were over 2 ounces short and that included the weight of the container. It was short over a quarter of a pound total. Also the slaw was sold by the pound. Strange because normally it's sold by the pint everywhere. Unfortunately, it too was short by over 2 ounce's which included the weight of the container. I have a professional set of scales designed for restaurants so I don't believe I'm mistaken I will be taking it up with the restaurant read more

Finally made it to the new Hinies. I must say, the interior is spectacular. In terms of food, the pizza is one of the best in the region. They have a legit pizza oven. Surprisingly the brisket was below average. It was dry and somewhat bland. I am a huge fan of brisket and sorry, but looks like Summmertown has the best ol hands down. Great food. Nachos are the absolute best. Brisket is very good as well. You won't find a thing you dislike on their menu.

What a terrible experience. First time there and what a waste of money. we ordered a water and a fruit tea with no ice. Well ice was served. Server never took the glass away but did bring me my drink finally, 5 minutes later with no ice. Food finally arrived so I started right in, Ribs were barely warm. Took a bite of these extremely tuff ribs and all I tasted was pepper. I could not chew them and the pepper taste made me have to spit out the meat. They did take off the ribs but over charged me for the green beans and the slaw I did eat. Price for the sides were 3.00 each I was charged 4.00 each. Gave the server my credit card and it took 6 to 7 minutes to return with my card. I guess my time on this earth is not important so letting us just sit there is just how it goes with hine's. NEVER again will set my foot in there or the gun shop they own, top gun in Ethridge. These people are all snobs. I guess when you have money to burn, us peons are worth nothing. read more

This place has really good food. The pork barbecue is so soft and moist. They give you plenty on the small sandwich. The smashed brisket sandwich is like a steak burger. The service was good.
