I have attended estate sales run by Chicken Foot Estate Sales for many years now -- ever since they…read morewent into business, really. Half of the furniture and other treasures I found exploring estates and homes LOVINGLY cleared by Jenny (a local gal with Carolina values), Ron, and their gang. And I picked up such great quality stuff! One meets the nicest folks at estate sales -- some of the same friendly faces pop up time and again. These are the guys who know the routine, do their homework, show up early, and bring a truck! Unfortunately, there always seem to be a few Entitled Eleanors who show up with the attitude of "I'm gonna make up my own rules." These unpleasant people park where they want, snatch other peoples' stuff, try to negotiate ridiculous prices, and generally make life difficult for those of us who know better. If I were ever in a situation where I needed to sell off my own relatives' possessions, Jenny Massad is EXACTLY the person I'd want to do it. She is open and honest and always looking for the best way to help folks who are clearing out their homes for whatever reason -- a recent death, downsizing, moving for a new job, etc. She posts photos online DAYS ahead of her sales to let everyone around know what will be available. Jenny is super-well connected, friendly, and really tries to give back to the community that has supported her over the years. The next time you're looking for a new piece of furniture, set of dishes, groovy lamp or piece of wall-art, shovel, riding lawn mower, or Ming vase, consider showing up early one morning at a Chicken Foot Estate sale. Your wallet will thank you and your friends will be jealous!

Not only this, but the sweet man who helped us load (three women, two over 50 one under 25) was yelled at and told by another worker that "Ron is pissed" that he helped us load the car to get out of the way faster. Never in my life have I wanted to say bad words to someone before. In short- if you want people to line up for loading, have a sign that says so rather than yelling at customers who are practicing basic estate sale etiquette of loading. I would not support this business if I knew how awful the employees were treated.
