I never thought I'd end up in a joint like this. Im used to ritzy salons with women who don't talk much to you during your appointment. I was surprised at how much I love getting my hair cut here. I ONLY get my hair cut by Tony P. He's an amazing barber and his skills go beyond that of any ordinary barber. He takes his time with your hair and truly cares about his clients needs and wants in a haircut. Every time I get out of Tony's chair I feel like a brand new confident person. He's given me a newfound confidence in my hair I didn't know I had. One of the best experiences I've ever had at a barbershop, ever. I had been following Hamlet Garcia's Instagram InTheCut305 for a few months and had been waiting for an appointment to open up. I was a little nervous walking in because I've had some really bad experiences with some of the SoFla barbers around the area and have always stuck to going to salons and the Haircuttery and such. When I entered I was greeted right away and Hamlet was right on time for my 12:15 appointment. I sat down, explained what I wanted and showed him a few examples from his own work and he advised me of what would look best and got right to work. The whole experience was great! He's personable and gets to know his clients, he's humble but also cracks jokes to keep you entertained whilst cutting your hair, he was even professional enough to explain exactly what he was planning on doing with my hair (I had told him that I'd give him a little freedom to work his magic) and he definitely delivered! What I got was a fresh cut, easy to manage, yet hip and eye catching. He really did an excellent job and his shop is clean, they play great music, and the entire staff was friendly and personable. Getting my hair cut and styled at His & Hers is always a divine experience. I only get my haircut with Tony, but the rest of the guys here give some of the best haircuts I've ever seen. These guys take every cut seriously and it shows. They are truly dedicated to their craft to the point where it's essentially a form of art. Most importantly they strictly follow COVID guidelines, requiring everyone inside to wear a mask at all times and only allowing those who are currently getting their haircut inside the shop. I'm beyond irritated at the lack of concern for clients time at this place. I have been here at least two dozen times before and keep coming back because I usually get an ok cut here & it was conveniently located for me when I lived in Miami. However today I'm done with this place and annoyed that I drove down from Ft. Lauderdale, where I now live, just to be told my appointment was cancelled after I arrived! I didn't receive a heads up call, text or email that there was any change...In fact the opposite, I have a confirmation email for my appointment today. To add insult to injury the barber that was at the shop was so dismissive and unapologetic that I just left. Now I've wasted 40 minutes driving down here for nothing and still need a haircut. I have had other issues with this place like mediocre haircuts and come back to pay for a correction a day or two later. But I kept returning because it was convenient for me and I didn't want to have to look for another barber. Today was the last straw and I will not return or send them anymore business. Years ago I followed @inthecut305 (now @hamletshairtheory) on IG after one of my friends got their haircut and it blew my mind! Hamlet was bringing back classic hairstyles, something typical salons were not doing. When my brother was looking for a new barber I immediately recommended Hamlet and over the years Hamlet and his wife Rachel partnered up to start His & Hers Parlour. Street parking is rarely available in front of the shop but behind the plaza there is free parking (behind the building) where you can walk in through the side. There are a few seats available for those waiting for their cuts and dyes, so don't come with a conglomerate of people. Appointments are almost a must unless you can have you squeeze you in. Scheduling can be done thru the link on their IG page for the barbers and for the Her's side text 786-599-8990) Be sure to confirm you've properly scheduled your appointment and don't end up wasting a trip! You come here for quality, they both take their time to get your hair style just right. On the barber side its typically 30-45 mins per client and on the Her's side it all depends on what you want, for dyes it can take a couple hours depending on the intricacies you're after. I've been coming to His and Hers Parlour since they opened and Hamlet has been my barber for a little more than 7 years now. I drive down about 45 minutes to see Hamlet because he's been the only barber that I've been to that gets my cuts right every time regardless of what style I decide to get. Hamlet is a true perfectionist and a teacher that pours his heart into all of his work and it shows. The vibe at His and Hers is of a real laid back friends house from all the artwork and music which is a real fun experience from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. All the barbers there are influenced by Hamlets enthusiasm and teachings, which you can see in the pride they take in their work regardless of who you see. You MUST book online because they are normally fully booked 1-2 weeks in advanced. Do yourself a favor and check them out they are true artisans at cutting and styling regardless of the style you decide. I went and received a great haircut, she was obviously very experienced, she was friendly, great personality. The salon was beyond cute, but I have not been back and its not because I didn't love my cut, the salon or stylist. Its because I really think that they need a better way of scheduling appointments, when you're that busy and in demand you need a receptionist or assistant to handle your schedule. For me to send a text to try to get an appointment and not getting a reply for dayssssss and then finally getting one saying that you're extremely busy, apologizing for the late response. And then you wait 1 month to finally get another response to finally set an appointment. Let's just say that's not going to work. My husband and I moved to the midtown area about three months ago. It was around mid February that we decided to drive around town and check out our new neighborhood. If I remember correctly, it was a Thursday afternoon when we both walked into "His&Hers" to check it out. I was surprised to find out that it is not only conveniently located but also beautiful and nicely designed. The men's section is first when you walk in, followed by the woman's in the back. What I find truly interesting is how there is a window in the middle in which you can peek thru either side. Hubs was able to get a haircut as a walk-in (we waited a little)but I highly recommend making an appointment with either the two barbers or the Co-Owner Hamlet. He (and I) loved his haircut and pre-booked his next one. As for me, I was able to get to know the other (beautiful) owner, Rachel, and also made an appointment. Where do i start!? Mind you, i had been hopping from one barber shop to the other trying to find a place that could give me a fresh looking cut, but no barbershop could deal with my widows peak and my cowlick. So i decided to give this barbershop a try and man did they exceed expectations! The staff was very knowledgable! Gave me tips and tricks to style my hair and what not. And i was able to come out of the barbershop looking fresh and confident! I loved my experience, and plus the decorations are beautiful! A nice old school/rustic style. I loved it! Hands down the best barber shop I have ever had the pleasure of going to. Since my last barber of almost 10 years left the business I was left scrambling for a new place. After following owner Hamlet on Instagram for a while I decided to check the place out about 2 years ago. I enjoyed seeing they only take online appointments which cuts down on foot traffic and let's them focus on their in the chair clients. Due to Hamlets popularity I had to look at the other two guys (at the time) and just happened to pick Brian. Brian has been taught very well and has been my favorite barber due to his meticulous attention to detail. "Every hair counts" is their motto and because of this I take the 45 minute ride from Coconut Creek to Wynwood 2x a month. Although I've never had my haircut by Marcelo and Shawn I've seen their work and it's just as great as Brian's and Hamlet. The shop itself is very clean and welcoming and the guys always have something interesting to talk about. I can't wait to you guys expand to Broward!
