Oh no, this guy is a liar and a cheat. None of this is true. I believe these are all fake reviews. Eric fleeced both myself and a neighbor and both of us have filed Attorney General reports on Eric Pfeffer. Eric recently tried to delete (this is his third attempt), a review I posted on Thumbtack. He has called them three times and told them he never worked for me. Since they have the e mail chain along with photos of the work, they continue to repost it, but then a few months later, he tries the same thing again, which he recently did. I published a review of His Workmanship along with photos of evidence in a Flkr album on Thumbtack a year ago, check it out. Eric, instead of standing behind his working and fixing poor customer work or refunding money, told Thumbtack he never worked for me and that I was an unveritfied user. So Thumbtack asked me for evidence. I sent them the e mail trail where Eric said confirmed the work schedule, said he'd talk to his crew leader about the work and would get back to me "sometime" and said he refused to so much as come by to inspect the work because he was too busy. Eric also tried to delete another bad review on Thumbtack from a couple of years ago by saying he did not work for the person. Again, Thumbtack did their homework and verified the review. How dishonest and low brow would you have to, instead of addressing customer complaints and standing behind your work, you try to delete valid negative reviews and malign the customer. What a sleazy strategy!!! I'm also guessing that any five star reviews (or most) are fraudulent and made by some of the Christian "flock" of workers he has working for them. I have never worked with a contractor in my 13 years of owning a very old home who has this level of fraud and dishonesty and swindle in his work. He worked for an acquaintance a few years ago and fleeced him too. I also see other poor reviews so it's unlikely that based on what he did to me or my friend or the other reviewers, that he has a whole lot of five star reviews. Eric's workers are hired because they are Christian and he hopes they'll become part of his "flock" in an organization with himself at the helm. That is not a reason or excuse to send unqualified workers out to a customers home and charge $60.00 per hour for incompetent work. Eric does not provide or complete any paperwork except and inquiry form on his website. There is no work order, no invoice and NO RECEIPT!. He asked me to pay in cash and did not provide a receipt. There is no customer recourse when they do a poor job because his only goal is to grab money from customers as often and quickly as possible to finance his larger goal of establishing a Christian organization with himself at the helm. Then he has his flock post false reviews. He will not even so much as come out to look at the work. No other company I've ever worked with gets by with this and he uses the "Christianity" angle to hide behind thinking this will give him a pass on accountability, of which there is NONE. This is a fraudulent company and Eric is a deadbeat owner who plants fake five star reviews and tries to squash real negative reviews and malign the customer as soon as they're posted. He also threatened me with a defamation lawsuit. I sent this threat to Thumbtack and they were happy to have it on file since no one wants to recommend a company that not only does poor work, but one that also threatens customers. If you're going to listen to Eric Pfeffer, who is a fraudulent and dishonest business owner, please do your homework first. I am glad to provide evidence including an independent contractor's assessment of their work which is part of the lawsuit I'm filing against them. read more

BEWARE PLEASE I hired Eric from Thumbtack. I hired his company to do spring cleaning of my back yard. First, there was a heavy down-poring of rain the night before Eric was to come out. The morning of I called Eric to confirm they would still be able to do the work due to the rain? He assured me the work could be done even tho the ground and leaves were wet from the rain. Upon arriving at my home the two men attempted to use a leaf blower which was not successful due to the wet leaves from the previous nights rainfall. The men then tried to rake the wet leaves. That to was not successful. They did manage to bag up a total of 8 bags! They also piled up the branches that had fallen on the ground and put them in a pile which they left in my yard. They also left the bags of full leaves by my garage and did not haul them away. When I called Eric to tell him I was unhappy he in turn told me he lived to far to come take a look at the work. At that time he offered to send me $20 via PayPal. I refused that offer and left a negative review on thumbtack, as the work was not complete. I then hired a different professional to come finish the work the next day. Eric then reached out to me and said if I would change the review him and his wife would come haul the bags of leaves away and refund my $120. I did agree with this resolution. Eric and his wife did come back to haul away the bags. But refused to refund my $120 as promised. I then called Thumbtack and asked to leave my negative comment which was the truth that his work was sub par. Now Eric is trying to BULLY me. He is sending me text saying he will pay me $200 if I remove the negative review from the Thumbtack website. I did not reply to his request. I called Thumbtack to report the harassment. I also sent them proof of all the text messages Eric has sent. NOW he is sending me messages saying he's going to come to my home and put the leaves back in my yard. I'm AFRAID AND SCARED of what this man is capable of doing. PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE HIRING THIS MAN.......... read more

We've hired crews from His Workmanship four times from May-June 2026 and we will continue to do so. We live in an urban area, with a normal size yard, but we have no lawn, only gardens and hardscaping, so there's a fair amount of maintenance. The communication with the business owner has been excellent: rapid and responsive. The crew has always arrived on time, eager to work, and have been productive for a 5-hour shift. We have discrete jobs and provide good instruction (and the proper tools); the crew brings enthusiasm and a great work ethic. Things, quite simply, get done. The tasks we have had them do range from weeding (they have needed instruction to discriminate weeds from perennials), mulching, maintaining gravel paths, and re-landscaping a pond area. We have hired 2-person crews, so we have worked with some folks more than once. So far, we have met 6 different employees. Each one has arrived at our house with a can-do enthusiasm that they have sustained through a 5-hour shift. At the end of every job we think "that's our favorite crew" until we meet the next crew of wonderful, productive people. We have recommended this business to friends and we will continue to work with them. As retirees, we feel we have two options: (1) move out of our home because the yard work may be too much (and, likely, move into a condo pay a huge HOA fee); or (2) hire some help to maintain our beloved yard and pond. We are choosing to hire help because we think our overall costs are cheaper than HOA fees (and because constantly increasing HOA fees scare us) and because we are enjoying much nicer private gardens and landscaping than we would if we lived in a condo. read more

I will fully admit that I was nervous as a new homeowner to hire out our first "contractor" project, but after seeing all the positive reviews for His Workmanship I decided that if there was anyone to trust, it was these guys. I was 100% right. Eric responded within the hour with a quote and had the quickest availability out all the contractors we talked to. He was up front about the estimate was one of the few that are willing to come and remove river rock mixed in with dirt. The day of, Mike (crew leader),Cody, and Sam all arrived on time and were extremely polite. I was around for the start of the project and they quickly found that the project was not going to take quite as long as expected. Before I left the house, Mike stopped me and solidified why I am giving this company a 5 star review. He said that they were nearing a trailer load to haul away but he didn't think their would be enough for a second full trip. He gave me the option for them to tidy up what was left and I could dispose of it myself, saving me almost $300 dollars, or they could return and finish the project it I wanted. I couldn't believe the integrity and chose to save the money. I will absolutely hire them again and encourage anyone who is nervous about hiring out yard projects to contact Eric. Horrible customer service, I purchased a coupon from groupon and it stated 2 workers for 1 hour $45.00, 50% off the regular price. NO WHERE on the site did it mention anything that they require a 3 hour minimum. So when I went to go sign up for service they told me that it would be $225.00 because I would have to pay for a minimum of 3 hours, and some travel expense, which the location I was moving to was just in uptown. Well when I emailed back and forth with Eric he obviously did not like my email where i expressed my concern about them not saying anything about a 3 hour minimum and he then basically said they were busy and no longer able to help and since I already used the voucher on Groupon I was out $45 that I had already purchased. When I emailed him back asking if he was sure they were fully booked for the 4th of the month in the middle of the week ... i got no response. HORRIBLE customer services, DISHONEST staff and they LIE. I am assuming "Eric" is the owner so this will likely not go anywhere but BUYER BEWARE... read more

Great experience from beginning to end! I contacted Eric for getting some weeding done. The property has many planting beds with a ton of weeds. Eric was very reponsive and asked me to send a few pics and fill out a description on their website of what I wanted done. Good quick communication and very fair price! The 4 most polite young men showed when scheduled and exactly on time! And eager to get to work! They worked fast and got to pulling and cleaned out every weed from all my beds. They looked great! They had extra time (per my scheduled time slot so they scooped up a pile of smaller rocks (very heavy job) and spread a huge pile of mulch for meI I would HIGHLY recommend these very smart, hard working, super polite team of young adults for any yard work or moving needs! Emailed Eric Wednesday and workers came Thursday--terrific turnaround! Christian, Hunter, Joey and John were a delight. They arrived on time (actually a little early) and dove right in once we showed them what needed to be moved from the basement. They were careful with the furniture; their efforts were well-coordinated by Christian. John was well-prepared with straps and a hand truck, all of which they used effectively to minimize possible injury/damage. The piano was heavier than anticipated, but they worked together as a team and moved from the basement into our living room next door. We are so thankful for their help; we certainly could not have moved all those items ourselves!! They did a great job. Responses were very quick when I had questions or when scheduling. It was also nice that he could give me an exact quote prior to them starting which was helpful for planning. Me and my husband had recently purchased this house - the garden had been unattended for a couple years and so the weeds had overtaken the entire yard. My mom and I had tried weeding and got a fraction done after working all day. Eric's team showed up right on time the morning of and finished the entire garden in 3 hours. I'd definitely plan on hiring them again for different, more complex jobs. I love the Christian aspect as well. The only thing that would have been nice is if it didn't cost extra to take the yard debris away. Otherwise, I was very happy with their work! read more

His workmanship was wonderful to work with. The scheduling was easy. Micah, Everett and Silas all showed up ahead of schedule. My Mom and I walked through the yard to explain what my Mom wanted completed. The crew was able to complete about half of the yard during the time scheduled. Not a reflection on their efforts, there simply was an extensive amount of weeding needed. They pulled the weeds out by hand which allowed for us to then put preventive treatment down that will hopefully keep the weeds from returning in mass. My Mom is 86 and the weeds just got away from us over the past few years! It was just too overwhelming for me to take care of by myself...it would have taken me at least a week! We have areas in our yard that were overrun with weeds. It became too much for us to pull ourselves. I found His Workmanship via a simple google search for weed pulling. I filled out the request online and within minutes Eric was in contact with me. We discussed the price and the job and they were able to come out two days later. I think the price they charge is more than fair, especially given the fact they're doing work we don't want to do. They showed up on time and finished the job in three hours, in 90 degree heat no less. They were professional and polite. Eric is very quick to respond, so no problems there either. I was delighted to get a quick response, a reasonable quote, and a quick date on the calendar. On two different days, for a total of 8 hours, I had 2 people out. I am so thankful that they were flexible to work on my time. Steven came out both days and brought a helper with him each time. The 3 workers that were here were friendly, professional, and worked hard to complete the tasks I asked of them. I had looked into moving companies, but their pricing was not in my budget. My brother recommended this service to me a few days before I was going to move. I contacted the company the night before and Eric was able to coordinate a work crew to be at my home by 1:30 the next afternoon! They were able to accomplish what I needed in the allotted time. The guys remained in good spirits even as time went on and the weather was not always cooperative. I am very appreciative of the extra help and that they were able to come with such short notice. Our original moving company canceled our move date and I needed last minute help to get our heavy things moved out to a family member's house before our lease was up. His Workmanship responded to my request very quickly and I was able to schedule two people for three hours for the next day. The guys worked well together and loaded and unloaded our stuff from the U-Haul we rented efficiently, ending with time left in their three hour shift. We really appreciate the last-minute booking and the help we received, and would definitely recommend hiring His Workmanship if you need some heavy lifting done! read more

Horrible customer service. I was inquiring for labor help via a posting in Fargo, ND and Eric responded they do not work for other companies. I called to explain we were hiring for a client, refuses to let me speak tells me its too expensive, we don't want your business. Wasn't able to get more than 3 words in my sentence, and he hangs up on me. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but after mentioning it was rude, i didn't even receive an apology. We bought our home 3 years ago and I wanted to clear out a few landscape beds then, I still haven't had the time and it was heavily overgrown. Eric sent Jeremiah and Nicholas out today to weed. They did a fantastic job! They were quick and very meticulous, they found plants I didn't even know were there. They asked great questions to make sure they knew exactly what I wanted done. I had a LOT of river rock to remove from alongside my house. I tried to remove it myself. On my knees for 3-4 hours and only got about 6 feet along. I found His Workmanship through Craigslist. College kids looking to earn money. I get that. And I needed strong young men to move the rock and dispose of. They fit the bill perfectly for what I needed. They were on time, they were helpful.
