WOW! This company did an amazing job! They were referred to us by my parents after doing a great job removing a tree from their house last summer. We bought our home in March and are getting a fence installed next week. While prepping for our fence installation we noticed most of the pine trees on our property were dying and needed to be removed. I called Perfect Landscape Tuesday evening and explained the situation and the rush. They came out Thursday and gave us a quote (at an amazing price) and came Friday morning ready to work! They removed 8 ~40' pine trees and the stumps within 4 hours! They were kind, courteous, professional, and had wonderful communication! They even went above and beyond by helping us with another bad spot in our yard we needed a large area of weeds removed from. After getting a few quotes to remove a tree in my backyard - a friend who had hired him in the past recommended Rodney's team. Rodney was incredible at providing a quote and was very responsive with planning/coordinating schedules as we had a tricky winter with all the snow. They did such a great job I had them trim a tree, remove from brush, and remove a HUGE pinetree three inches from my sun room. They never told me when they were gonna show; The owner Rodney tried to chastise me cause I had a complained. He was threatening. He really tried to put fear in me cause I complained. Rodney's son in law came to give us an estimate, as did another company. We chose Perfect and Rodney because it was cheaper. Rodney tried to upsell, and was very aggressive about it. We did the extra (it was stump grinding etc). He then called me, telling me the estimate his son in law gave was way too low, and he wanted more money. I said I wanted to see an invoice for the work. He told me his son in law locked them out of the computer system, and they couldn't get me an invoice. I said that without an invoice to look at, I'd only pay the estimate. He tried to bully me over the phone by telling me a story of someone getting beat up. Then he showed up at my house, demanding a check. My hubby wrote it for the estimate, and Rodney was pissed. Eventually he left. Perfect tree did a great job on the tree itself, but the unprofessional service made me feel uncomfortable, and I wouldn't hire them again. read more

I contacted Perfect Landscape (and three other companies) to get a bid on having a tree removed from our property. Rodney of Perfect Landscape was the first to stop by today. He tried to pressure me to have the tree removed right now -- "C'mon, we drove all the way over here. I don't want to waste a trip." (Perfect Landscape is based in Burnsville, and our house is in Prior Lake. Short drive.) When I told him that I'd only requested a bid and that I was getting bids from other companies, he wanted to know how many companies. When I told him, he said, "I wouldn't do the job now. Not interested. Let one of the other guys do it." No worries; I plan to. Are there people who would actually be intimidated by that act? read more

Last year, we had some trees we decided we wanted cut down. Huge trees about 70-80' tall, I would guess. We found an ad for a "handyman" in a local newspaper, said he did tree trimming etc. This guy came out and gave us a quote so we signed a contract with him and he said he'd start that week. Well, to make a long story short, a year later, he still hadn't finished the job. I was talking to a friend at work and telling him the whole story. He said " I have just the guy for you!" That is how I was introduced to Rodney and his crew. I just can't say enough nice things about them. Rodney came out, gave me a quote for cutting 4 trees for the same price the other guy was charging me for 2 trees. I told Rodney that I was having a party in a couple weeks and would like to have it done by then. He said they were already booking a couple months out but said, he'd see what he could do. Next thing I know, he said he'd be out next week, before the party in June! I had no idea what I was in store for. On the agreed date, he showed up with his crew and before I knew what was happening, 1 tree was already down, a crane was lifting a guy to the top of another tree and chainsaws were going all around me. Rodney and his crew did in 8 hours what the other guy couldn't do in a year! He even ground all the stumps down, cleaned everything up and left me some black dirt to even things out. I wish I would have known about Rodney before I had signed a contract with this other guy, it would have saved me a year of headaches and frustration. While removing the tree they identified an issue with a another tree and on the spot we got the section be tree removed the same day. The price worked out very well for me. After the work was done they did a great job in blowing off the sidewalks, roofs and gutters. Even my neighbors roof and gutters. They went out of their way to assist me, on short notice, when I had a dangerous tree threatening to fall on my house. They came out immediately the same day I called, and they felled the threatening trees, cleaned up and removed the debris from my yard and completed the job before noon! With the thawed ground and high winds, I am certain those trees would have crushed my roof with the first significant snowfall. They had a very good price but beyond that they were awful to work with. The men who came to remove my tree told me they never look at the quote instructions so if I wanted anything special done I needed to let them know. That really was not a big deal, but it was very unprofessional. The real problem came with the clean up. The bobcat they used really messed up my back yard and the truck that they used to haul it away actually made 2 large pot holes on the road. A brand new road that had just been put in 1 year ago. This made my neighbors quite angry. I contacted the company only to find out that the men who were working at my home did not report the incident and then it took a month and several more calls before I could even get the owner to agree to get a quote to fix the road. It has been a month and a half since the tree was removed and the owner still will not respond to when the road will be repaired. I understand it is an inconvenience to him but his team caused damage to a city road and now it needs to be repaired. Honestly this company is cheap and they did remove the tree, but I was left with a really torn apart lawn and a damaged street so they were not worth it! read more

We had a door to door salesman tree service that we paid to cut and remove some trees. They cut down the trees but never showed up to remove the debris (and after researching later we discovered this was a pattern for them). I never write reviews on anything but when you are mistreated by a company as badly as Perfect Landscape, I had to share thoughts on this company that took my money and left me with damaged lawn and poor customer service. We called out Perfect Landscape Tree and Excavation for a bid on 6/30 with the intent to have some trees trimmed. After talking with the owners, they pointed out that one of our trees needed to be removed. This $800 extra expense is something that we did not plan for so after getting a few other bids and saving some hard earned dough we felt like Perfect Landscape was the right company to hire for the job. Originally Perfect Landscape was supposed to come out on a Thursday at 1:00pm to complete my project. They called at 1:45pm to inform me that they had to cancel and could reschedule me for the next morning at 8:00am. Unfortunately, I took another day off work. Friday morning, they did not show up until 9:30am and did not apologize for being late whatsoever. Half way through my project about 3-4 of their workers left my house to go down the street to pick up a side gig they scheduled that day because my neighbor noticed they were in the area. Perfect Landscape is welcome for that extra $400 in their pocket. By the completion of my job, the perfect landscape dug five holes in my yard with their boom crane claw and one of their workers instructed me to get in contact with the office to get it re-sod. I was so fixated on what they did to my lawn that after taking closer look at my trees, they left many branches that definitely needed to be trimmed. I called the Perfect Landscape office within an hour of the workers leaving my house and the office manager said they could be out on Monday. I called Monday morning to see when they were coming over and the office manager said late afternoon. Perfect Landscape never showed up or called. Once again, I wasted another vacation day on this company and they don't even give you a courtesy phone call. The office manager assured me that the crew would be there Wednesday at 8:00am to fix the lawn and trim the branches. Of course, Perfect Landscape showed up one hour late! The worker told me that later that day someone would be out to put down some grass seed on my lawn. Grass seed? Really? You want me to put seed in five divot/holes in my yard? I was not happy about this and what do you know, no one showed up that day to even sprinkle some seed on my lawn. Throughout this process I felt like I was treated like the dirt that they left behind in my yard and not as a valued customer. For a first time home owner that sunk a good chunk of change into completing this project, I am severely disappointed and feel robbed by this company. Not once did the owners apologize or even speak a word with me about any of this (I had to voice my displeasure with the office manager). Their communication is terrible (95% of the time when you call you get voicemail and may not get a call back for hours) and they even confused my number for what I assume is one of their payment processors and left me an angry voicemail.
