There is plenty of parking, and on Tuesdays the ticket prices are lower than normal, which is a nice bonus. The concession lines are usually short since it's a small town. The only downside is that the theater doesn't have a big billboard or street sign. It's about two blocks off the main road, so if you're not from the area, you might miss the turn. Overall, we're thankful to have this theater in our community. I highly recommend it for watching your favorite movies.

The marker reads, "Formed from Nelson County by first Legislature, 1792. Named for Col. John Hardin, veteran of Dunmore's War, 1774, Am. Rev., Gen. Clark's Wabash Exped., 1787 and Maumee Indian campaign, 1780. Murdered by Ohio Indians while U.S. peace envoy to them in 1792. In 1780 Elizabethtown settled by Samuel Haycraft, Thomas Helm and Andrew Hynes, for whose wife town named." It is marker number 960 and was erected in 1966 by the Kentucky Historical Society and the Kentucky Department of Highways. The court house was built in 1933 in Georgian Revival style. It has a three-story brick central section with a slightly projecting entrance pavilion, which has a shallow portico. The courthouse replaced an 1873 courthouse which was damaged in 1932 by a fire. The total doesn't include the long standing antique and boutique stores on each side of the train tracks. Overall this is a craft festival - jewelry, repurposed wood and bourbon barrels, seasonal tees and sweatshirts, tumblers, 3D imprint items, crocheted toys and kitchen decor, and more. While I was excited about the number of vendors, shopping began to feel repetitive and lacked uniqueness. You will not go hungry here. In addition to food trucks, booths are offering a plethora of desserts, nuts, and other snacks. One could go broke and develop a huge belly ache! Parking is $10 and there's plenty of it. Easy in and out. Porter porters are scattered, but we found many without toilet paper at only midday. If you are shopping with kids, note that some paths are in dirt or grass, but no issue pushing a stroller by. Overall a good day ... we bought more junk food than crafts, but it was nice to visit Glendale and we're excited to come back without the traffic of the festival. His plane was late, so he wasn't able to take the stage until later, but he is born and bred Kentucky and put on a phenomenal show. I'm giving the venue 2 stars simply because of the parking clusterflip. It's not cool to follow all the signs to the amphitheater parking only to be in the middle of NOWHERE, and not even close to the amphitheater. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes or so for a bus to pick up as many people that could fit, to drive us to the place. There's lines because they check ID's and everyone must get a bracelet. It was an extremely strange way of herding everyone in for the concert, and at the end of the evening it just felt unsafe having to get back to our vehicle. Although, Dwight Yoakum was the very first completely sold out concert this venue has had thus far, so hopefully the parking situation will improve over time. I'm going to keep an eye open for future concerts here, and I will return.

Parking for the event was $10 and they provided shuttle service for transportation. It was a less than 5min. ride. There is handicap parking available at the Log Still Distillery. They have plans to add another closer parking lot, but they are currently prioritizing expanding the distillery. There were 3 bars & a beer stand. -The bar at the back of the Log Still Distillery offered full bar and some craft beers in addition to the usual. -There were two other bars offer a semi limited mixed drink menu and beer. One up top and one in the lower seated area. The beer stand was up top just after you come in. Currently they have one food truck, but believe they have plans to bring in more. We tried the smash burger and hot dog . Both were good. The Smash burger had cheese, grilled onions and cheese on it. They had the usual ketchup, mustard & mayo for condiments. They have everything they allow into the venue on their website. We carried in two sealed 20 oz water bottles. They allow each person to bring in up to a gallon of water as long as it is factory sealed. We were seated in row H seats 17 & 18. Honestly there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The view from the lawn and bleacher GA seating was also great.

We travel a lot together and when we can visit a RR museum we do. What's in it for me? Fun, exploration and lots of photography. As a photographer I always use this opportunity to capture some some interesting photos. Whether a museum or just walking on the tracks trying to capture some fun angles, cool insides of the old trains and lots and lots of tracks. We came here from Louisville (about an hour drive) and just explored all we could get to visit. Many of the artifacts that you see here come from the old L&N line that made stops here. We did find it interesting that some old Long Island Railroad cars made it here. (We were visiting from Long Island, where we live.) Based on when you're here they offer train rides. We came on a very quiet day and were four of the six people here. The team here was wonderful both showing me around and answering lots of questions most train enthusiasts already know. I did post a few pictures from our visit. All in all, this was a fun place to spend some time and for me, have and interesting camera-train experience. We were in Kentucky for a quick road trip and decided to stop at the Kentucky Railway Museum as a…read moreway to beat the heat. Located in New Haven, the old station houses both a gift shop and small museum. Many of the artifacts are from the old L&N line that made stops here. The museum also has a large model railroad but was slightly disappointed by the fact only one train was running in it. They also offer train rides, depending on the day and time of week. We were lucky enough that on this particular Tuesday they were operating. We took a hour long ride, heading south to Gethsemane and back again. The ride was smooth and cool but was generally very slow. We never felt the full power of the engine move us down to the track as we were hoping too. It's a nice ride but possibly not as exciting if you are a true train enthusiast.

Before modern plumbing, people used chamber pots. Federal commander Benjamin Butler was so hated…read morethat his face ended up at the bottom of one. In April 1862, New Orleans had fallen to Union forces. General Butler heard countless stories of his men being insulted by the New Orleans women. One example, Naval commander David G. Farragut had the contents of a chamber pot emptied on his head from a Confederate woman in an upstairs window as he walked down the street. In response, Butler issued General Orders Number 28 on May 15, 1862 to counter these disrespectful gestures. It stated, "As the Officers and Soldiers of the United States have been subject to repeated insults from the women calling themselves ladies of New Orleans, in return for the most scrupulous non-interference and courtesy on our part, it is ordered that hereafter when any Female shall, by word, gesture, or movement, insult or show contempt for any officer or soldier of the United States, she shall be regarded and held liable to be treated as a woman of the town plying her avocation." This implied the women of New Orleans would be treated as common prostitutes (allowing the men to grope or rape the women) if they made disrespectful comments or gestures toward Union soldiers. Butler earned the nickname, "Beast Butler," and achieved notoriety as a target at the bottom of a chamber pot.
