You park and what you see is what you get. They offer hay/wagon rides, but they don't seem necessary when most everything is in walking distance. A small bakery sits on the property that offers a good selection of sweet treats. Next to this, a small shop of knick knacks and the place where you purchase pumpkins and fruits. There is a huge slide, a place to see pigs and feed goats. A small corn maze and other ticketed options for the kiddos. To me this place was a bit boring, but I understand the appeal for small town folks to have an opportunity to let little ones go out and pick a pumpkin to bring home. We ventured around and let the kiddos play, bought some pork rinds and popcorn and then headed home. There is an event space for birthdays and limited seating, but for what this place offers it is an okay stop to busy up an afternoon.

My dad worked as a ticket seller/usher and my mom was there on a date. But they ended up married for over 60 years. So the jamboree played a large role in my life. Many famous bands use to stop and eat at the jamboree as they traveled the country via bus. The restaurant was an integral part of the business until the last few years. I remember going with my grandmother for the all you can eat country ham dinners. As a child I will never forget going up in Joel Ray's airplane and flying around the area. Joel Ray made the Jamboree, he mc'ed telling his corny jokes and insisting that the place remain a family place. Since Joel Ray's death the place has undergone a renovation and facelift but is still the place to go to see great family entertainment if you enjoy country/bluegrass music.

The prices are quite reasonable. Candy is available at the counter. What is good about admission is it is good for the day, so you can pay, go get lunch, and come back later if you choose. The majority of the games were working, but as you can expect with (gulp!) 40 to 50 year old games (Asteroids - Copyright 1980 Atari! - 45 years old!), they can and do break down.

The annual festival falls on a Saturday, running 8a-5p. This year it was extremely crowded with…read morevendors - if the advertising is accurate, we walked past 200+ booths. The total doesn't include the long standing antique and boutique stores on each side of the train tracks. Overall this is a craft festival - jewelry, repurposed wood and bourbon barrels, seasonal tees and sweatshirts, tumblers, 3D imprint items, crocheted toys and kitchen decor, and more. While I was excited about the number of vendors, shopping began to feel repetitive and lacked uniqueness. You will not go hungry here. In addition to food trucks, booths are offering a plethora of desserts, nuts, and other snacks. One could go broke and develop a huge belly ache! Parking is $10 and there's plenty of it. Easy in and out. Porter porters are scattered, but we found many without toilet paper at only midday. If you are shopping with kids, note that some paths are in dirt or grass, but no issue pushing a stroller by. Overall a good day ... we bought more junk food than crafts, but it was nice to visit Glendale and we're excited to come back without the traffic of the festival. It would be nice to shop their local stores and eat at the Whistle Stop.

The building has a classic, old school theater charm with a well-preserved marquee and architectural details that give a sense of its history. The area around the theater is easy to walk and has a small-town feel, which makes it nice to stop by for photos or a quick look. Even from the outside, you can tell it's a community landmark that's been part of Elizabethtown for decades.
