Incredibly rude owner. I had booked an appointment for a hitch install and when I arrived I accidentally parked in the wrong place. The owner came out and started screaming at me to move my car. I politely told him I was just trying to give him some business. He yelled at me that "he didn't want my f***ing business" and to get my car outta here. So I left. Called around to get quotes for a hitch install on my new vehicle. Shortages in the Covid world had me worried given an upcoming trip that required a tow vehicle. Hitch City gave me a fair quote but then confirmed the parts were back ordered. I called back after finding the parts elsewhere. They earned me that they were not sure if they could install OEM parts but invited me to come by. I drove a half hour out there and surprise surprise the new quote was the same price as the earlier quiyte with a hitch and wiring included. They wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars more to install the OEM hitch and harness that I had brought in. Not impressed. Luckily another shop did it for half the price. read more

Highly recommend. An amazing customer service experience at Hitch City Scarborough from start to finish! Were well taken care of by Ahmad who took the time to educate us and answer all of our questions when we came by to inquire about a hitch and bike rack for our car. Very personable, professional, and knowledgeable, he made sure we were making the right choice for our bikes and our vehicle plus gave us a very competitive quote. Very relaxed no pressure atmosphere in the store with lots of great products on display. In a few days our hitch and bike rack were installed while we waited. After installation, Ahmad and the installer showed us the features of the bike rack as well as how to insert/remove it safely to/from the hitch. Ahmad insisted we were not to leave until completely satisfied and all of our questions answered. He encouraged us to contact him with any questions or concerns after leaving the store. We left feeling at ease with an increased knowledge base and confidence in the products as well as our ability to use them. Hitch and bike rack are great...so easy to set up, load, unload, and take down. We are enjoying them very much! We will return to Hitch City Scarborough for all of our future business. The quality of service at this location is appalling, offensive, shameful, awful, and astounding! If there was a level of service worse than the service at this store, I would choose it over this. I am a professional consultant in retail, and I rarely ever take the time to express how disgusted I am at the service and general ethics at retail locations, mainly because I know what retailers go through and would provide constructive feedback rather than post on a public forum. However I am sorry, I've had to break my rule in this case as I feel I have a civic duty to inform the public of such dishonest and wretched operations. They do not accept refunds, do not have a warranty, and do not provide any support! While inquiring to purchase an item, the manager and ALL the staff told me "yes, we have a return policy ... and it's that when you leave the store, there is no return." They said the same thing about a warranty as well. So fine, then I proceeded to ask questions to better understand the product and how I may use it on my vehicle ... NOPE! Upon asking why a customer cannot do a return and has no warranty, they proceeded to tell me, "well, how else are we going to get a customer back into our store ... if it breaks or it's not the right product, they'll have to come back and buy from us again!" PLEASE AVOID THIS LOCATION NO MATTER THE COST OR DIRE NEED!! read more
