I generally don't write reviews but I was so impressed by my experience with HM Passport Office that I just had to say something. I live in the US and needed to renew my UK Passport by using the online service and mailing my original to the UK. Needless to say, it's quite a scary thing to send off your only form of travel visa into the great postal abyss. Furthermore, I needed to ensure that the new passport did not get delivered to my physical address (which does not get serviced by the postal service here) but to go to a different address from what is on my passport application (gasp) and go to my PO Box. In a little under THREE weeks my new passport was in my possession, along with my old version which had also been mailed to the PO BOX. Sure this might seem pretty basic stuff - but to me this was GOLD. When you take into account the delivery times between UK & US, they must have processed the passport in just a few days. Realised with less than 2 week before we were due to go on holiday that my daughters passport had expired (Doh!) Discovered it on the saturday. Phoned them on the Sunday, was offered various appointment times on the Tuesday. Had to opt for an afternoon appointment just because of travelling time, so was told it would take 8 days, instead of 7. Was so easy to find, car park just round the corner had about a 5 min wait to see an advisor, who was so helpful (even if he did find it funny!!) Was told it would be sent by courier the following Wednesday (even gave me the contact number for the courier company so I could contact them to find out an approx time as I would need to sign for it. It arrived by ordinary post on Friday (5 days early!). Yes it cost a lot for this service, but worth it and my own fault! read more

Paid for 7 day service for my son's first passport everything went fine with this application despite very abrupt and rude staff actually on the desks. However, my partner has needed his renewing and he decided to use the same service and 8 days later there is still no passport. After making numerous phone calls all they have had to say is that they don't know when it will be done and using security checks as an excuse. Both my son's and partner's application had the samecounter-signatory so that can't be the problem. No doubt they don't offer the difference between a standard application and a 7 day service as compensation for their delay as I'm assuming they hide behind 'security checks' as a reason not to refund! Not happy at all with incompetence of the Liverpool passport office. read more

I have been waiting for my first passport to go through and it is and has been with the information team for the past ten weeks. After several phone calls all I keep getting told from the very rude members of staff that there is no time scale and even though my parents have paid £1500 foor a travel ticket to Australia to attend my brothers wedding (which I have missed) I keep being told that they are doing security checks well I didnt realise that I was that too big a risk!!! never been in any kind of trouble! This is the worst service I have ever received from anybody in my entire life and is still ONGOING! read more

We called the passport service as my mothers passport had run out, and we were taking her to Paris as a surprise. I called Friday at 5pm , very helpful on the phone and made us an appointment for the next day (Saturday). arrived at Liverpool passport office, service was fantastic, the lady even wishes my mum a happy birthday. We were asked to return 4hours later, which we did, again staff fabulous and we walked away with a hassle free and very friendly experience of everybody that we came in contact with. On the 10th August i realised I needed 6 months on mine and my daughters passports to fly to Turkey on the 11th August. Went to Liverpool office at 11.30 am after getting all documents. All the staff were very helpfull and pleasant, They dealt with me quickly and efficiently and I was able to pick up our new passports at 4.15 pm the same day. Shockingly I found my passport had run out in May & I was due to travel mid July on holiday. I rang the central number Saturday afternoon & I was offered several options of appointments for the Monday. Arrived in Liverpool had a 10 min wait to see advisor, everyone was so helpful, went for lunch & shopping, went back to office at 2:00 & my passport was ready, I opted for the premier service & it certainly was £128 & worth every pennyThank You read more

Can I just say to bjxx your review is not of Liverpool passport office team, if you send it through post/post office and is a first time passport it has nothing to do with these excellent members of staff your passport could be anywhere in the country, even if its at Liverpool it will not be being delt with by the team that the other reviewers are talking about because they do the quick service passports. Next time don't leave it so late. read more

I have just renewed my passport and did it through the post office checking service. I also sent off my old passport. Everything was fine and swift but I just wondered why my new passport came back in an envelope telegraphing what was contained in it whereas the old passport came back in a normal envelope. I would have thought with so much identity theft going on that it would have been safer the other way round. read more

I was very impressed with Liverpool Passport Office. Daughter lost her passport in June and was going away 4 days later. I phoned the office late Saturday pm and got an appointment for 1.30 on Monday to apply for a renewal. After handing the application form in at 1.30 we were told to come back at 5.00 and it was ready, at no extra cost. All the staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. read more

HMPO Liverpool I had an excellent service with the HMPO Liverpool Office. I obtained my naturalization certificate on 27/8/2021 and on the 27/09/2021 , I received a text that my passport was printed and dispatched at 9 40 pm. Given the lockdowns and backlog they have experienced. Thank you HMPO for the excellent service and hard work. K G read more

Living in France at moment and needed to renew my passport- applied on-line. Sent old one back via registered post. All done in 48 hours and new/old one sent out registered post separately to France- arrived in secure/double packed and very quickly - IMPRESSED- thank you very much- looking forward to go travelling soon read more

Thank you to the staff who were very helpful when I needed a passport fast after losing mine. Expats like me beware: if you live abroad but lose your passport whilst visiting Great Britain you are not entitled to prime service or an emergency passport. If they are not busy it can be done quickly, it took me 6 days. read more

I had to apply for a quick passport for my granddaughter in July.Fortunately we were attended to by Julie Kelly who went above and beyond to get things sorted out in time for us.We all complain when things go wrong but this lady is a gem and should be treasured by her employers.. read more

Someone is pocketing the money at this office for passports, then making people apply a second time after denying responsibility. Needs immediate criminal investigation. I was ripped off and made to pay double. read more
