Furthermore, the approach taken by the staff, positioning themselves near the checkout and closely monitoring our actions, made us feel unwelcome. Clearly communicating our intentions by announcing that we were proceeding to checkout and visibly holding our items did help alleviate some tension. Nonetheless, it's crucial for stores to ensure all customers feel valued. While security is important, effective measures should be implemented without compromising customer experience or relying on stereotypes. Every customer deserves respect and professional service.
