this is a wonderful liquor store, especially during the Pandemic. they have had curbside pickup all the way back to March 2020. We can even ask Steve, the owner, to choose wines for us, and the selection and his taste are both commendable. If we say pick out a dry red for $20-25, for example, that's what we'll get when we pick it up 30 minutes later. Hobgoblin has a great selection of wine, beer, liquor and specialty items! The bourbon and whiskey selections are especially nice. The staff is super friendly and if you're lucky, Tinkerbell the Frenchie will be sooo excited to greet you. It's located in Beverly Shores on Rte 12 so it's a great place to pick up supplies for beach days or stock up on the way to points further east. read more

Doink! A little store with a huge selection of craft beers, interesting wines and top-shelf hard liquor that happens to be right near the beach and the Dunes National Park. If you live in Beverly Shores or are on your way to Lake Michigan, you cannot beat the convenience of Hobgoblin. In a small footprint, it markets a quality selection of beers, wines and spirits. It offers a range of local and national microbrews as well as imports, all available in the refrigerated case. The selection of spirits is top shelf. Do you want something you don't see? The super-friendly owner, Steve, can order it for you and you'll usually have it in a week. He stocks a variety of very drinkable wines with most priced between $17-$25, with some higher-priced selections also available. He rotates his inventory so I stop in monthly to see what new and unusual items he may have received. For example, the 2' long gold jaguar (containing exotic tequila) that sat on his counter in 2021 was certainly unusual, but my tastes lean more conventional. The seasonal wine and beer tastings are not to be missed. If you dined at the Goblin & the Grocer across the street and tasted a wine that you enjoyed, you can buy it at Hobgoblin. In a hurry?
