From our very first meeting upon arrival at NYU Langone, his kindness and compassion -- his caring approach -- put my mind completely at ease. This was a life-changing surgery that could have been so much more difficult and stressful. Instead, it went so well it felt almost seamless -- I never imagined I would be on the other side of all this and feel so good and positive about it all. What sets Dr. Robalino apart is his communication skills and incredible humility. When I thanked him the next morning, he humbly told me that it is entirely a team effort. His team includes the equally wonderful Dr. Bonnie Lonze and Dr. Brian Boyarsky, as well as many others who took exceptional care of me. The entire staff at NYU Langone along with Dr. Robalino's surgical team were outstanding, supportive, and caring beyond measure at every step. Finally, the experience at NYU Langone hospital itself was incredible. I was in an amazing room that felt like a small studio apartment with a million-dollar view overlooking the East River. As my post-surgery recovery began, I got to watch the boats go up and down the river at all hours, set against a backdrop of a constantly changing New York City light and sky. It was like a moving work of art. This aspect was as exceptional as every other part of my journey, and it was deeply healing. If I had known what to expect, I would have done this a long time ago. If you need a transplant surgeon who combines elite medical expertise with deep compassion and a wonderful team, I cannot recommend Dr. Robalino enough. After about 45 minutes, a female was put into room 52. About a hour goes by. The lady that was put in the room 52 was taken to ultrasound before me. At that point, I addressed my concern and found out that the doctor never put the order in. And he left for the day. This is the first time I've ever had an issue with NYU Langone.

When we got into the hospital, we needed to sign in, so I waited and they didn't even offer a seat to poor child, so I just went straight to the chair and put him on one. Then we went into the pediatric department, went through registration and vitals there, at least the nurse was nice. Then we went into one of the beds. My son felt asleep. They put him on monitor. You know how cold it is in hospitals, they didn't give him the blanket, we went to the people behind the counter to ask for one. Then the doctor came , examined my son and said that he was dehydrated a lot. Ok if he is dehydrated, don't you want to give him some water then??? So we spent 4 hours in the hospital with very dehydrated child , and they didn't even give him water. It doesn't make sense to me.

Despite his explicit request to be taken to NYU Langone; where his medical history was established--he was diverted to Bellevue. While the initial Emergency Room staff appeared attentive, the quality of care deteriorated significantly upon his transfer to the ICU and general ward. I wish to highlight several critical failures: * HIPAA Violation: A nurse used her personal cell phone to contact a relative against my uncle's express wishes, disclosing his private medical history to this individual. * Negligent Supervision: In the general ward, the environment was insecure. Patients from other rooms wandered in and out of his room frequently. The staff appeared distracted by personal social media use and failed to maintain a professional or safe environment. * Communication & Clinical Failures: Appointments noted in "MyChart" were repeatedly missed or rescheduled without notification. Staff were often defensive, unresponsive, or claimed to be "in training," providing no clear answers regarding his treatment or the status of his swallow tests. * Lack of Basic Compassion: My uncle's requests for simple comforts, such as ice chips or being shaved, were ignored despite staff promises. * Loss of Property: Following his passing, the hospital lost all of his personal belongings, including his LifeAlert necklace. Staff falsely claimed his clothes were destroyed during intake, despite me seeing them intact and bagged in the ICU. The lack of accountability and basic hygiene in his final days turned a difficult situation into a haunting one. If you choose to take a loved one here for treatment, you might as well take them straight to the cemetery.

My daughter attended the school they have on the 21st floor due to her terrible social anxiety…read more Being here was supposed to help her flourish, but the longer she spent staying the more she became depressed. Everyday she complained that her classmates were noisy and loud, and that the teachers had done nothing to stop them from that. Now I'm not so sure what else exactly happened but I can only imagine what she went through. she's back at public school and doing a little better now, Bellevue changed her. She was snappy, alone, and had bigger trust issues then, but she's working through it day by day. Don't recommend taking your children to this school, the hospital overall I'm not sure.

My technician Brandon made me feel welcome and comfortable right away. He performed the test in no time and showed me the way to the exit. As I left I told the reception area Thank you and Goodbye. They all chimed in that I was welcome and gave me a farewell! I definitely won't mind returning for the test in the future. It's easy for me to get here on the 96th Street Limited Bus.

My brother in law was checked in after a road accident. He was admitted in the morning (after 8am)…read moreand in surgery by 3pm. I was told he was out around 5pm and removing in a room then. His items were locked in the ER security. Found out later on discharge day that they only locked his valuables (phone & wallet) which fit in a tiny bag. Everything else was missing- his clothes, shoes, sunglasses and watch. Ot took 2hrs of attempting to look for his stuff (only the locked valuables was returned) and still unable to find them. The ER Security closed before 8pm and we got to him at 8pm (terrible traffic) the first night and was able to grab his phone. He had no way of contacting us as we didn't even know when his surgery finished since he had no phone. They said to come back in the morning around 11am to retrieve his stuff with the nurse's paperwork. You have to go up to the nurse station to get document to go back down to ER security which is ridiculous because to go up to the room, you have to go to ER and pass the security to get to the elevators. My brother in law was in a room with 2 other patients (room has 4 beds, the final occupant came the next day). There was a small basin and bed pan provided with basic toiletries (toothbrush, tooth paste, deodorant, bath soap for shower with 2 packs of wipes and 2 male urinal containers). He had dinner which didn't match his menu choice (Thai rice bowl) but instead had a chicken (smallest piece ever) with over steamed veggies. He only stayed overnight and was discharged the next day. We picked him up around 6:30pm after my husband got off work. He was in a wheelchair (they needed to locate one) and gave him crutches to take home. He was in alot of pain and we drove him to CVS to pick up his meds. We entered through the front lobby to check in at registration. The side entrance on the right was the way to the H building (where ER is) and then to get on the elevators to his room. It's a very long way to get there and would be easier if we just went through ER but you have to check in at the front registration. Even to pick him up, we thought we could stand infront of ER so it would be a shorter distance for him to get into the car, but they said front entrance of main hospital. It took them 25min to locate a wheelchair and then finally able to wheel him down to us. By then, we were standing outside the hospital almost 40minutes as it took a bit to discharge and wheel him over.

St. Vincent Hospital EMS charges a whooping $32.00 per mileage which totaled a nasty $607.00 for three measy miles. The service was somewhat courteous as the EMS staff permitted my former love to utilize his cell phone to contact both my employer and his employer the delay in reporting to work. The EMS staff are not trained properly for administrative clerical paperwork as my former love spelt out my name, our address, phone number for registration yet the paperwork still mis-spelled my former surname! Phonetically my former surname is an easy spelling yet somewhat difficult for pronunciation, which this EMS dude obviously cannot handle. Two months later St. Vincent Hospital EMS notified me in writing that my insurance is not covered due to "not medically necessary," thus after five payroll periods I was able to pay off this nasty $607.00 bill with two installments.
