The falls at this park are beautiful!…read more It's a short hike from the parking area ($5 fee to park) to the falls. The trails aren't labeled, but I believe most of them lead to the falls. With the water so high this year, you can hear the falls from the parking lot, so you can literally follow the sound. The trails are unpaved, and not flat and easy. We didn't find many hiking trails other than what led to the falls, but we were on the south side, so perhaps there are more on the north side?

We kicked off our shoes, dipped our feet in the cool water, and climbed around the rocks above the falls. There are more challenging hikes if you're feeling adventurous, and it's only about 10 minutes to great Hudson riverfront dining afterward. Memorial Park is must-see attraction for tourists in Red Wing and provides 268 acres of outdoor recreation. The park can be reached either by stairs or a quick drive up a narrow, serpentine road. Look for the WW2 M8 75 mm pack Howitzer at the entrance! UPPER QUARRY-Take a right just before you reach the top of the bluff to access the UQ. Here you will find stone picnic tables, a picnic shelter, and hiking trails. TOP OF THE BLUFF--Parking spots run adjacent to the main overlook, convenient for those with limited mobility, seniors, or small kids in their party. The looping road encircles a disc golf course, picnic tables, and an old water tower that looks like a castle. There is a cave below the main overlook, but exercise caution in the descent. LOWER QUARRY - At the end of the loop take a right to the Lower Quarry. Explore the endless hiking, biking, snowshoe, and ski trails, along with old limestone quarries, cliffs and ravines. Whether you're looking for a quick view of the city or a hike around the bluff, Memorial is the place to be. Definitely worth the trip especially if you are visiting nearby Red Wing. My only criticism would be that the maps along the trail didn't have a "you are here" marker, but that went away once I figured out each intersection being assigned a letter. Will have to come back in the warmer seasons for a hike and/or camping trip!

We…read morehad heavy rain Friday evening but were prepared so actually enjoyed drifting off to sleep with it. Woke up to all our belongings still dry and the sun drying things up. We ended up hiking around 6 miles of the park. Tried our hand at fishing off the fishing pier but no luck, lots of algae bloom. The lake was a lot clearer but we didn't have a boat or canoe. The bathrooms were super clean and updated. Showers are free and well lit. Will definitely be back!

It was a beautiful trail, unpaved (my preference), but kept up. Not all the trails were marked, so either get a map at the front gate or take a picture of one you find. We also took a couple other trails - all enjoyable. The bathrooms are pit toilets in a decent setting (I've definitely experienced worse). Because of the size, beauty, and diverse offerings, it would be easy to spend a day at this park. Day parking fee is $11.

There is a lot of parking…read moreat the trailhead and once you get going, it isn't too long of a hike up the hill and you are rewarded with really nice views of the town, the surrounding county, the river, as well as being able to see deep into Wisconsin. There is a lot to look at from the northern vantage point. Then, you can head south along a ridgeline and get to the southern vantage point and the views there go on for miles as well. It is definitely kid-friendly, as my 4 year old walked the whole thing and my 2 year old walked a bunch of it, too. Just make sure to take a few breaks and bring some snacks.

We'll pave and well navigate with signs, directions, and directions. We hike the Midland Trail and the South for an easy to moderate hike. We went the west outlook point. Well designed trails and stairs for everyone to come and enjoy. Overall yes, would come by if in the area for a nice breezy hike. The overall view point from the top overlooking downtown red wing is spectacular. Pictures cannot do justice to.
