The young lady as so kind and squeezed me in ( I can't thank her enough) My hygienist Amir was so kind and so educational and actually took the time to explain what I needed and why! Dental degradation runs in my family so I prioritize my oral health! The office manager Dayani was so so kind. Taking the time to explain my treatment plan and get the care I needed. Dr. Patel was very supportive and thorough about my filling. Made sure I was numbed and it took all of 30 mins... I've had fillings take hours. She took 30 mins!! As a new mom I rarely have time for myself! They went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed for myself! The ENTIRE STAFF was warm, attentive and efficient! I'm so glad I decided to come in and get a second opinion and my annual done!

He doesn't do root canals, and he won't do extractions if the root enters the sinus cavity. Be careful! A friend of mine went to him and ended up paying $7K out of pocket! One bite-wing x-ray cost me $44. A five-minute exam, where he sprayed water on a bad molar, cost me $77. This guy ain't cheap. If you have endless money, however, I recommend him heartily. He takes care of cavities quickly and efficiently, and the novacaine wears off before you get home. I can't afford him anymore, though. I'm looking for someone who'll accept insurance.

When I got my teeth cleaned I asked Dr. Mayer about a painful tooth. He said he suspected it may be a cracked tooth but a special x-ray would be needed to know for sure. After what seemed like a very rushed exam and a fast tooth polishing of the painful tooth he advised it may get better but if not call the office and come back. Well it did not get better it got WAY worse. I looked at the tooth with a flashlight at home and it WAS clearly cracked and it was obvious without any special x ray. I called to try and get an appt. to get the tooth repaired and I was told they had no openings this week. I pleaded with them to please find me a spot because my wife and I were going on vacation the up coming weekend for the first time in 3 years. This did not matter apparently and I was just told if they had a cancellation they would call. What kind of a doctor does not allow a half hour during a shift for emergencies? When you do a search for emergency dental care on google Dr Mayer's office is the first to come up. You better make sure you plan your emergencies a week ahead of time if you want to get in that office. I will never go back there again and will now go to Dr. Santa-Cruz and Dr. Person at Cruzin dental who took care of me with sympathy to my situation. Before this office (Mayer's) went "corporate" it was so much better.

The records sent from my endodontist indicated a distal fracture at the backside of a molar that was causing terrific pain. After a quick panoramic xray, Dr. Alcaide breezed into the exam room and proceeded to give every reason why he was NOT going to extract the tooth -- even, with my husband present, agreeing that the tooth was fractured, beyond repair by a root canal, and needed to come out. I won't go into all the rationalizations he gave except to say that Medicare -- which I wasn't using and which doesn't pay for extractions -- was chief among them. He actually urged me to see a neurologist for pain -- at the same time insisting, "I'm not a pain doctor" -- and get a custom dental guard at Nova University for tooth grinding. Again, with a fractured tooth before him that he acknowledged needed extraction. It is a doctor's right to choose not to treat any patient. But in this case, despite his impressive credentials, Dr. Alcaide was illogical, imperious, and, I believe, verging on the unethical. He had his front desk give me referrals to other oral surgeons throughout Lee County so "you can find someone to remove the tooth, just not me." If you need an oral surgeon, I would recommend using any one of them except him.
