Hogbin's provides5 star service and products at a reasonable price. I wanted to line my back yard with a variety of trees to block a road behind my property and provide a view from my sunroom. I had spoken with different landscapers but at Hogbin's facility you can actually see the trees which gives you a much better idea of what the end result will look like. Additionally, Johnny Hogbin has years of experience and would let me know if a tree I wanted would do well in my location. Not having a green thumb, ease of care is important to me. Johnny's team, led by Chris did a fabulous job of installing all the trees and roses I selected and they were very patient as I changed some of the locations of the trees and plants. They also installed slate under my fence gates, lined each of my front garden areas with stone and installed a drip line for the trees. They worked almost non stop in 95 degree weather and still gave me the end result I wanted. There was only 1 planting that didn't match my expectations. When I discussed it with Johnny it was addressed IMMEDIATELY to my full satisfaction. The entire project came in at less than half of a quote given by another landscaper and I got larger trees and the project was started immediately. I went yesterday to get some mums, a family member told me they were 3 for $10 so I decided to take a ride. I asked the owner how much and he said 3 for $12. I said I thought they were 3 for $10, the response was those were smaller and I sold them all. When I asked my family member she said there was only 1 size out front which is what I bought. Instead of lying to a customer's face to make an extra $6 and ensuring they will never shop there again maybe he should say I raise the price on the weekend. read more

Purchased 10 shrubs and paid extra for delivery. They began to die almost immediately. We were told to keep watering them and they would come back. They did not. Now since I've pushed them to fix this I am being told they have no return policy! So, unless you know how to tell if something is healthy or not, buy from a nursery that offers a return policy. $800 later, we're learning this the hard way! read more

Crappy install of sod. Did not till ground as you're supposed to do and the sod died. And they were pricey.

This has been a horrible experience!! Went there to purchase top soil, as we re-graded a portion of front yard. After laying down the top soil, and seeding, I noticed after about a week, this so called, top soil, contained all kinds of sticks and rocks, more like mulch, than top soil. Needless to say, we got a few small patches of grass to grow. After going back up to them, we were advised they use a hybrid mix, for their top soil, which was never disclosed. Owner bargained with us, and promised to make our grass grow, so he sent workers out to apply seeding and top soil, which they did, however, it appears they mixed in trash with the soil?? I am talking about a lot of trash!! Glass, plastics, wire, candy wrappers, etc.!! Just disgusting!! We have already collected a gallon sized bag of the trash, and intend to file a complaint, as we have well water, and if this trash is toxic, someone is in big trouble!! My advise is to avoid this place, like the plague!!! read more
