The storefront, a grand Georgian (?) façade painted a hippy-ish purple has a Selfridge-style impact suitably scaled-down to this small stretch of largely quite wonderful and unique establishments facing onto the common. Its windows too show flair and are frequently updated, It's a gift shop full of intriguing trinkets. The stock is imaginatively resourced and displayed: cards, jewellery, small home gifts, and local interest things it seems to aim to cater for all ages (the trendier spectrum of all ages, that is). I find it really impossible to emerge without succumbing to temptation.

If you've just bought a home and you're prone to drunken wine spillage, they'll have an easy-clean option for you. If you're neat as a button and want some high class carpeting, they have that too. It's suggested you approach this store with an idea in mind how many square meters of flooring you need a quote for. Then it's as simple as choosing an option you like from one of the hundreds of samples littered around the store. If you prefer to skip the store altogether, you could also just ask your building contractor to take care of it for you.

Indeed these products are on the pricey side and this far £30 from a candle has been for me just too much to ask no matter how precious the ingredients ever are. The decoration of this particular shop is very dark, with the contrast of black and white with harsh spot lights. Even though I have visited their shops before, I was a bit reserved by its cold looks. Luckily the products will captivate your attention.

The packaging, like this shop's decor, is simple and uncluttered. Heavy glass bottles with black and white labels containing some of the finest perfumes around.

To be honest, it's probably not the best exemplar of any of them ; there are definetly cheaper antiques ( Suffolk is good for that sort of thing), bigger architectural salvage yards ( solopark in Cambridgeshire) and Georgian houses in better nick, but the combination is a rare one. Apparently they also have a flooring place in Bermondsey. Well worth a visit, if you need some original features restored, or just a poke about for an hour .

It stood in three acres of riverside parkland, at a time when this area was fields and orchards, with little development. Latterly a British Railways staff social club, it fell into disrepair and was squatted, before being saved by Lassco (hooray for them).
