I used to live just up the road and I was very careful not to stop in every day to buy a little treat, and I was fascinated to know that you could organise cooking classes, but I deliberately didn't look into it because all those gorgeous young Greek men, and what they usually turn into... I didn't want to go there. Not that there's anything wrong with being a big fellow, it's just not my destiny. I also have to say most of the actual ingredients are very good for you, walnut, semolina, honey, even Chocolate Loukoumi has rose water or rose syrup in it, and that's considered good for you by some ancient Greeks... So I shouldn't make it sound as if the food is not good for you; it's just not good for me. But if you want to treat yourself or someone who deserves a treat, this is not the worst thing you can do - stop and buy a selection of gorgeous delicacies from this authentic traditional Greek pastries shop. Or bring them there and have a coffee outside with a yummy plate. Realise that you have purchased lunch AND an afternoon snack for only a few dollars - probably around 5, and give yourself a little high five (try not to look like too much of a dork whilst doing this...) Spend the mounds of spare cash that you would have otherwise spent on lunch on an array of authentic Lebanese groceries. It is a tradition amongst my friends to come here for 'meat bread' when hungover - or as the Lebanese Bakery calls it 'meat pizza'. On your right as you enter is a big old woodfire oven and a list of breads you can order. A few are what we traditionally think of as pizza, most are delicious fillings wrapped in folded Lebanese bread. My favourites are the meat bread and the spinach and ricotta bread. Meat bread is a round lebanese bread, topped with spicy mince, tomato and onion, folded in half and cooked in the woodfire. Spinach and ricotta reminds me of a spanokopita, but better - a fresh lebanese bread, expertly folded into the shape of a triangle pasty and filled with friend spinach, red onion, spices and ricotta. DELICIOUS! Beyond the takeaway food, you can get fresh fruit and veg, yoghurt, cheese balls, halva, baklava (and other fresh nutty sweets), tinned food, cooking utensils, fresh breads, and some frozen foods too. Oh and a whole range of Lebanese music on tape and expired foreign candy. The staff are real friendly and this is a bustling little place on a Sunday afternoon.

It was great! Full of flavour, spices, slightly salty and smoky. Everything you want in a kebab. It was served on some really fresh pita and a side of lettuce, tomato and onion. The coffee when I had it was a little over-heated, but apart from that it was okay. The muffins are small compared to the rest of the sweets, but were moist and tasty.
