Okay, let me start this review by saying that hubby and I travel quite often with our golden…read moreretriever and as long as the room is clean and quiet we are all good. but the few issues we had with our room could be so easily rectified that it is frustrating that the owners could be so oblivious. Let me start with the good: -We stayed in room 307 which is an end unit with direct access from outside, great when traveling with a pup in tow and there was a wooded area mere feet away for our pup to relieve himself and there were dispensers with waste bags nearby. -Our room was clean, quiet and even though it quickly became evident that although the entire place was quite vacant, pretty much every guest checked in for the weekend was in the same area as us, however, there was only 1 occasion in the 2 nights we were there that we ever heard our neighbors and that was just briefly. -It turned out to be a pretty chilly weekend but thankfully the room heated up quickly and we were able to maintain a comfortable temp our entire stay. -Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. -Beds were super comfy (need to do better with those mini pillows though) -Good wifi and more than ample tv channels to choose from -Staff was super friendly and our room had been made up after we returned from our long day of hiking - trash emptied, towels replaced, bed made. -Our mini fridge kept everything really cold; soda & ice machines feet away -Love the small touches - makeup remover wipes, iron & ironing board, coffee machine with tea and coffees -Super fast check in and check out Now for the disappointing, especially because these issues could be so easily corrected and would show pride of ownership: -The bases of both nightstand tables were really rusty -The handle on the dresser was falling off, needed to flip around to use. -The desk chair was literally falling apart at the seams -Several curtain hooks were broken which led to the curtain hanging down limply -Soda machine in building we were in kept kicking our $1 back out, perhaps upgrade to allow for card payments or at least ensure machines work properly (but at least it didn't steal my money). -Brochures provided in lobby for local interests really weren't nearby at all. ie. Penns Cave -Never saw any info regarding alternative to regular breakfast option being offered nor did I see any pastries or beverages offered in lobby. Final thoughts - we would definitely stay here again, it was fairly central to all of the areas we visited but would like to see those minimal issues addressed, after all, if you're only utilizing a small fraction of your rooms why not make sure those you are putting guests in aren't the very best they could be.

The bed was clean and comfortable, but it was somewhat hard to sleep because the AC/heating unit sounded like someone snoring throughout the night. At least the hallways were fairly quiet to counteract that. The shower water pressure was nice, though it would've been better if the temperature could get hotter. It was only warm. That goes for the sink as well - it didn't produce hot water let alone warm. I could only wash my hands in cold water. Hazleton is a small town, so it makes sense that there would not be any five star hotels nearby. If you like free breakfast and parking this is the place to stay. It's also the closest Marriott to the town. A short-term stay wouldn't break the bank and the hotel is convenient and comfortable.

We also took advantage of the indoor pool and dry sauna, both were spotless and in great condition. The lobby had a refreshing water cooler that stayed cool and fully stocked all day, along with well maintained coffee station, with regular, decaffeinated and hot water for tea. This was a comfortable and relaxing stay, and we'll definitely book again. Great hotel, great staff, and great experience.

The desk was small and came pre cluttered with things like a gigantic landline phone, some random electronic device with RJ45 connectors on both ends but not plugged into anything and a large alarm clock. I threw all that stuff into a corner so that I could use the desk for what I wanted to use it for. The room was well worn but not in bad shape. The thermostat is legit and you can get your room down into the low 60s F if you want to. The hallways stink but the rooms don't.
