Had a blast on our weekend trip! Two couples, both found their rooms cozy & clean. Check-in was smooth as well as check out. The underground bar was a lot of fun. Live entertainment both nights (fri & sat) with some good specialty drinks. The bartender Tyler was AWESOME. He made our night more fun than we expected. Upstairs bar was good enough, but Tyler downstairs was the best. Other bartenders had little to no personality. The one even seemed annoyed we were ordering drinks? Strange. Both nights we ate dinner at the restaurant, Broadway Grill on the main level. First night was good... second night was a complete 180. Breakfast was good both mornings we ate there. You do need reservations for breakfast which was easy to do online. Plus a $10 off per person each day at breakfast for staying at the Inn. The second night they ran out of the most basic side - rice. still put mushrooms in a pasta dish that was repeatedly asked not to be put in there. A side of fries that were supposed to come out with a meal was supposed to be delivered soon after.... But another persons meal was sent back (awful taste to the chicken parm) and fries were given in place of the meal. Still no fries for the other person. Dry salmon but the sauce saved it. Mashed potatoes cold. The manager was very understanding & i appreciated her kindness. The waitresses were all very nice too. Overall - I'd still go back during another season as we were here in winter & not much was open. I'd stay here again and just plan for dinner elsewhere.

Bartender was cheerful and attentive. Maple old fashions were very good although not GREAT. Bean burger was ok nachos were one of the worse I have had anywhere. Pictures are truth telling. The chips were also packaged from not a good vendor. Canned nacho sauce... pulled pork on top that had little flavor. Packaged guacamole and salsa on the side. Although the help was great and the drinks were good. I would not recommend to eat there. Would go back for drinks only.

Best place to stay in Jim Thorpe. Very great location in the heart of town. Cozy and clean rooms. Fabulous restaurant and bar! Always live entertainment. Can't wait to come back!

The Inn at Jim Thorpe is one of America's most historic hotels dating back to 1849. It was originally called the American Hotel and is it is said that celebrities such as Thomas Edison, Presidents Grant and Taft and Buffalo Bill have all stayed there. The Inn is very charming and located in the heart of downtown Jim Thorpe. The rooms are older and small but well-maintained. The Inn has a prime location making everything accessible within walking distance. You can step right outside for shopping, restaurants and attractions such as the museum, old prison, Packer mansion. Hiking trails are also located within walking distance of the Inn. Free parking is available to guests. Upon check-in a breakfast voucher of $7 per person is given for the Broadway Grille. See my review here for the Grille: https://www.yelp.com/biz/broadway-grille-and-pub-jim-thorpe?hrid=nxVy1e5DCQBilcPC-tlkeQ&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

Bathroom 44 west broadway st jim thorpe inn

This review is for 44 west broadway location up the street from the main jim thorpe inn. This place needs serious updating. Window units are kind of tacky and very 80's and 90's . For the price you are paying it's not worth it. I would recommend an Air b-n-b I know its an older house converted to hotel how ever there is no fridge in the room and no microwave its in a common space down the hall . Bathrooms need major updating. I never stayed at the original (25 broadway ) location which is 3 blocks down the st but the bar and restaurant are fun we stopped there after we checked in.They had live music until 10 and the drinks were great .The 2 stars are for the bar and restaurant.

    Medium rare burger!

Waitress is super nice! Place looks beautiful, outdoor patio is great! Prices are high for what you get, but it would be fine considering the ambiance. 3 out of 4 of us ordered well and enjoyed our meals. The 4 th person ( me) ordered the jumbo, gormet sounding $14 wings. I got 6 regular wings that looked like they came from the local pizzeria. Definitely frozen and nothing special. The price and the way the menu presented them made me think they would be big and home made. Sent them back and ordered a burger. It took them 20 minutes to make the burger, which I ordered medium rare and got well. Disappointing for the money. That being said, the roll was fresh, the lettuce was fresh, but if you're going the charge $16 for a burger, you should know how to cook it to order.

    Shitty room

While the place is charming. The front seat was beyond unhelpful. Even though I called ahead of time and SPECIFICALLY said I did not want a room with 2 double beds my request was ignored. I don't care you're fully booked! I am sure not all rooms were checked into by the time we got here, 3:15! They did not accommodate my request. So now my husband and I are spending a weekend with no kids in separate beds like we're kids! WTF!

I was so excited to stay here. I got put in an annex vs the main bldg. The room smelled like sewage and looked really old and run down. Zero charm. View of a building 3 feet away. Cookies given at check in were stale and the wi fi is really spotty. For what I paid, I expected a lot more. The parking garage here is horrible too. Getting a relatively small vehicle parked in the tiny, hard to maneuver lot was a pain. The $10 breakfast voucher was nice but it took 30 minutes to get a yogurt to go; inn's restaurant is understaffed; servers were rude, too. The town is adorable but I don't think I'd stay here again - definitely not in this horrible charmless annex.

A dirty tissue god only knows what it was used for!

Honestly this place needs updating especially since the competition is local air bnb that have to be deep cleaned and have newer beds. We got to our room and there was someone else's iPhone changer on the floor behind the nightstand and a used dirty tissue. So dusty! I need to use my inhaler three times. Not to mention I drove 2.5 hours and was looking for are to get a good nights rest and the mattress was completely slanted like people only slept near the phone. I was rolling off the bed because of the unevenness. I woke up with the worst back pain of my life that ruined my trip and my friends birthday. Honestly I'm so disappointed I was crying at the end of my trip because of the sciatic pain. Drove 2.5 hours home in pain and had emergency chiropractor appointment. Save your money and go to air bnb. Even tho they upgraded up to a suite the beds were still terrible and it doesn't change the fact I was in pain and the getaway was ruined. Steer clear!

Upon arriving to the hotel we discovered that Booking.com had messed up my reservation and I received a "no show" charge for the night before I was supposed to stay at the hotel. The two people at the from desk immediately re-assured me they'd help and rectify the issue even though it wasn't their fault. They refunded the "no show" charge and made sure we had a room for the correct night. They give you cookies when you check in which is a nice touch as well. The room itself was very clean, and very classically decorated. Beautiful crown molding in our room as well. There's a very nice modern flat screen in the room and a Kurieg machine with a nice array of coffee and hot chocolate pods. There was also two complimentary bottles of water in the mini fridge. On the second level of the hotel there's a beautiful sitting area with tables and rocking chairs for guests to relax. There's also a nice little sitting room on the second floor with a variety of games for playing during the stay. Again, a nice personal touch. The hotels location is impeccable as well, right in the middle of town within walking distance of all restaurants. You also receive a parking pass for one of the numerous lots allocated for hotel guests. They are all very close to the hotel as well. Would certainly stay again!

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

I HIGHLY recommend doing a Murder Mystery night or weekend at The Harry Packer Mansion! The breakfast was not to my liking but it's a great option to save money and with the various items available, you can find something you like. I had the waffle, scrambled eggs and pork sausage and the eggs tasted like powdered eggs which they likely were and I don't eat a lot of pork but prefer pork bacon versus pork sausage. The taste of bacon is better for me. I had a room on the second floor, room 204 to be exact. TIP: Avoid this room if you want to open the shades and see outside.
