What a beautiful historic inn in the heart of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the charm and character of the property. The inn is beautifully decorated and does a wonderful job of preserving the town's rich history. One of my favorite touches was the collection of autographed photos throughout the entrance area, showcasing the many artists, musicians, and notable guests who have stayed here over the years. The location couldn't be better. Situated right on Broadway, you're within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants, galleries, and attractions that make Jim Thorpe such a special destination. We spent hours exploring the town and loved being able to return to the inn whenever we wanted to relax. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and tastefully decorated. It featured a cozy queen-size bed, two cushioned lounge chairs perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing, and a large swivel-mounted TV with streaming capabilities. The room had a warm and inviting feel that fit perfectly with the historic atmosphere of the inn. The staff truly made our stay memorable. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. They provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and attractions and even supplied a handy map of Broadway highlighting all the shops and points of interest. Great hole in the wall inn located in a nice, walkable area of Jim Thorpe. We booked a room on a whim- literally as we were driving across the state of PA after a holiday weekend- and it ended up being an amazing place to stop, have dinner & explore the next morning. The great: We almost booked through a third party website because it looked like it was $20 cheaper but we ended up reviewing the discount tab on the Inn at Jim Thorpe website and noticed a 15% discount if we booked over the phone. Booking over the phone saved us about $50. The staff was kind, professional and helpful over the phone and in person. They even gave us fresh baked cookies when we checked in. The inn is an old, crickety building and the rooms are small but clean. There's a stairwell and small elevator once you're inside the building. I don't know if there was a handicap entrance into the building. The parking lot was easy to find but it is quite narrow, which should be expected in an old building/old town. Ice and a filtered water fountain is located in the basement and they have a vending machine too if you're looking for a late night snack or sweet treat. The not so great: One thing did feel misleading. The staff said the restaurant attached to it ( Broadway something or other) is the only place that serves breakfast & they require reservations. The Inn even provides a $10 off per person coupon for the restaurant but we found a few options for Nitro cold brew, coffee, tea and baked goods right down the block. Personally, this felt like sales tactic to make us think breakfast would be scarce. Maybe that's the case during peak tourism season but it didn't seem to be the case when we were in town. Overall we'd definitely stay here again. Between the trails, the cool architecture and the good food, we found Jim Thorpe to be a fun place to explore. read more

Had a blast on our weekend trip! Two couples, both found their rooms cozy & clean. Check-in was smooth as well as check out. The underground bar was a lot of fun. Live entertainment both nights (fri & sat) with some good specialty drinks. The bartender Tyler was AWESOME. He made our night more fun than we expected. Upstairs bar was good enough, but Tyler downstairs was the best. Other bartenders had little to no personality. The one even seemed annoyed we were ordering drinks? Strange. Both nights we ate dinner at the restaurant, Broadway Grill on the main level. First night was good... second night was a complete 180. Breakfast was good both mornings we ate there. You do need reservations for breakfast which was easy to do online. Plus a $10 off per person each day at breakfast for staying at the Inn. The second night they ran out of the most basic side - rice. still put mushrooms in a pasta dish that was repeatedly asked not to be put in there. A side of fries that were supposed to come out with a meal was supposed to be delivered soon after.... But another persons meal was sent back (awful taste to the chicken parm) and fries were given in place of the meal. Still no fries for the other person. Dry salmon but the sauce saved it. Mashed potatoes cold. The manager was very understanding & i appreciated her kindness. The waitresses were all very nice too. Overall - I'd still go back during another season as we were here in winter & not much was open. I'd stay here again and just plan for dinner elsewhere. read more

My husband and I stayed here from May 29 to June 1 to celebrate my birthday. It was our first trip since his diagnosis with a chronic illness. Unfortunately, we discovered bed bugs in our room. While pest issues can happen to any hotel, the management's response was completely unacceptable. Staff members repeatedly accused us of bringing the bed bugs into the hotel ourselves. We have not traveled since 2022 and do not have bed bugs at home. Instead of showing empathy, their immediate instinct was to shift blame, dismiss us, and aggressively defend the property. It was deeply troubling. I actually had to ask management for an apology before one was offered and then it was far from sincere. This entire ordeal added massive, unnecessary stress to a trip that was supposed to be a rare, hard-earned refuge for my husband.The sole exception to this awful service was the housekeeping staff. They treated us with genuine kindness, compassion, and care during a highly upsetting situation.If the hotel had handled this crisis with basic professionalism and respect, we would have understood and at most been disappointed. Instead, we were blamed and insulted. I strongly advise booking your stay elsewhere. read more

I booked this hotel through Expedia on a off season Tuesday night and pre paid 175 for the evening. We tried to check in but the front desk couldn't accommodate our stay based on the Expedia rate, we sat in the lobby for over 2 hours waiting for the front desk to do laundry, check other guests in to actually address the fact that we had been patiently waiting. They finally said they could give us a room if we paid more than the Expedia rate. It was a horrible experience. Luckily we got a nicer room across the street. We were excited to stay at the Inn at Jim Thorpe--but sadly, our experience at their secondary building (55) left much to be desired. While the main inn seemed lovely, we were reassigned to their other location up the street for our second night. Upon arrival, we were met not with hospitality, but with a vacuum cleaner and cleaning buckets right inside the entrance--hardly welcoming. The building lacked a lobby, and more importantly, there was no elevator. My elderly husband had to navigate stairs to the second floor, and I had to carry our luggage. Even something as simple as getting ice meant descending two floors--again, without an elevator. The worst part came overnight, when a persistent beeping kept me up. We later discovered it was the alarm by the front entryway door that had gone off, but no staff ever came to check it. When I reported it the next morning at the Main Inn, I was told I should have called--yet there were no instructions or onsite staff to contact. When we returned over an hour later, the alarm was still going off. That, to me, raised concerns about the safety and oversight of that property. It's a shame because the main inn seemed to offer a very different experience. But unless significant changes are made, I can't recommend staying at their annex location. Guests deserve transparency and basic accommodations--especially when safety is at stake. I would encourage the Inn to take action to improve both communication and safety protocols. read more

This review is for 44 west broadway location up the street from the main jim thorpe inn. This place needs serious updating. Window units are kind of tacky and very 80's and 90's . For the price you are paying it's not worth it. I would recommend an Air b-n-b I know its an older house converted to hotel how ever there is no fridge in the room and no microwave its in a common space down the hall . Bathrooms need major updating. I never stayed at the original (25 broadway ) location which is 3 blocks down the st but the bar and restaurant are fun we stopped there after we checked in.They had live music until 10 and the drinks were great .The 2 stars are for the bar and restaurant. read more

The price and the way the menu presented them made me think they would be big and home made. Sent them back and ordered a burger. It took them 20 minutes to make the burger, which I ordered medium rare and got well. Disappointing for the money. That being said, the roll was fresh, the lettuce was fresh, but if you're going the charge $16 for a burger, you should know how to cook it to order. read more

This was our first time staying here and we will definitely be back. We booked two nights directly through the hotel a month in advance. Check-in was a breeze, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. When we got up to our room we found it to be immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. All in all, we were very happy with our stay. On our first night, we decided to have our dinner at the Broadway Grille downstairs. Our server John was very friendly and personable and made us feel like we were dining with family. He answered all our questions about the menu and made recommendations. We were very satisfied with our meal. The blackberry bourbon sour was amazing, as was the strawberry creme brulee! On our second and last night, we decided to try another restaurant in town for dinner. Our experience there was just so-so. We both agree that we should have gone back to the Broadway Grille instead. Had breakfast there on the morning before checkout and had another great experience. Overall, the Inn at Jim Thorpe is a wonderful place to stay. My only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer. read more

I was so excited to stay here. I got put in an annex vs the main bldg. The room smelled like sewage and looked really old and run down. Zero charm. View of a building 3 feet away. Cookies given at check in were stale and the wi fi is really spotty. For what I paid, I expected a lot more. The parking garage here is horrible too. Getting a relatively small vehicle parked in the tiny, hard to maneuver lot was a pain. The $10 breakfast voucher was nice but it took 30 minutes to get a yogurt to go; inn's restaurant is understaffed; servers were rude, too. Honestly this place needs updating especially since the competition is local air bnb that have to be deep cleaned and have newer beds. We got to our room and there was someone else's iPhone changer on the floor behind the nightstand and a used dirty tissue. So dusty! I need to use my inhaler three times. Not to mention I drove 2.5 hours and was looking for are to get a good nights rest and the mattress was completely slanted like people only slept near the phone. I was rolling off the bed because of the unevenness. I woke up with the worst back pain of my life that ruined my trip and my friends birthday. Honestly I'm so disappointed I was crying at the end of my trip because of the sciatic pain. Drove 2.5 hours home in pain and had emergency chiropractor appointment. Save your money and go to air bnb. Even tho they upgraded up to a suite the beds were still terrible and it doesn't change the fact I was in pain and the getaway was ruined. Steer clear! read more

Upon arriving to the hotel we discovered that Booking.com had messed up my reservation and I received a "no show" charge for the night before I was supposed to stay at the hotel. The two people at the from desk immediately re-assured me they'd help and rectify the issue even though it wasn't their fault. They refunded the "no show" charge and made sure we had a room for the correct night. They give you cookies when you check in which is a nice touch as well. The room itself was very clean, and very classically decorated. Beautiful crown molding in our room as well. There's a very nice modern flat screen in the room and a Kurieg machine with a nice array of coffee and hot chocolate pods. There was also two complimentary bottles of water in the mini fridge. On the second level of the hotel there's a beautiful sitting area with tables and rocking chairs for guests to relax. There's also a nice little sitting room on the second floor with a variety of games for playing during the stay. Again, a nice personal touch. The hotels location is impeccable as well, right in the middle of town within walking distance of all restaurants. You also receive a parking pass for one of the numerous lots allocated for hotel guests. They are all very close to the hotel as well. Would certainly stay again! read more

Both times we have booked the 25 mile bike trip with Poconos biking which is located a block from the Inn. I love that you can get a tag and park anytime before checking in . The rooms are clean and everything is within walking distance . Last trip everyone had mask on around town and at the Inn . In the evening other guest were out on the balcony 6 or more feet apart enjoying the evening . On our way to the Peach Music Festival on Montage Mountain (Scranton, PA) we decided to spend the night in Jim Thorpe. I had requested a 1st floor room overlooking the Main Street that included a balcony/porch. Parking was just outside the room. This vintage hotel is awesome and the staff is friendly. The old train station was just across the street and everything in town was easily walkable. You can't find a better location. We would love to stay here again. read more

The inn is located right downtown and walking distance to the jail, restaurants and the train ride. We parked at #55, 1/2 block away. Front desk was quick, friendly and efficient. Our room, 212, was large and clean as a whistle, Bathroom was adequate with a shower. Initially, there was barely any water pressure. We told the front desk, and a maintenance guy practically followed us to the room. We left and when we returned the pressure was great. I've travelled a lot and this is the first time I've experienced a quick and positive outcome to a complaint. The bed was comfy enough but all rooms really need 2 chairs and 2 luggage racks. TV got all of the channels in HD. AC was quiet and effective. There is absolutely no view from this room, just a roof and AC units; in fact, you can barely see the sky from the bathroom window. We were given two breakfast vouchers for $10 ea. Prices were reasonable for the size of the serving, only $15 for both of us. Omlette was very large and tasty. We mentioned cold potatoes, but she immediately returned with a large plate of hot ones. We could not say enough about the servers, Susan, Victoria and Rose. We enjoyed the comfortable 2nd floor balcony overlooking the street, for a glass of wine after touring all day. The train ride is a must-see. read more

We checked in early and our room wasn't ready which was fine. I paid everything in full and was not given a receipt. We toured the town with my grandma for a little. We found parking in the other parking lots they had. Once we were able to get our keys and go into the room it smelled really bad with the ac on. Even when it was off it still smelled and came from the draws. Once we got all the bags in the front desk called and said that the payment didn't go through on my credit card. So they tried to double charge me and didn't even ask if they could use my credit card because if they would have they would have seen I already paid in full. The guy who checked us in didn't put it in the computer but did on the paper but the girls who gave me the key to the room didn't check the book only the computer. So that was awful from the start and they still didn't give me a receipt because they had to wait until the next day to see what the guy did. I did not receive a receipt until we checked out but everyone else who was checking in got a receipt right when they paid. Also, the showers are way too small. read more

This place was just okay, nothing terrific and nothing bad. Very old building with many slanted floor areas. Our whole room was slanted including the bed. Although our stay was fine, I probably would not choose to stay here again. Restaurant for breakfast was dreadful. They give you vouchers but the food is ridiculously high priced the vouchers won't cover it. If you use the vouchers gratuity is tacked on, this is because service is bad and the only way wait staff probably receives tips. Menu is incorrect and customers are not informed. My meal came with choice of bagel. I asked what kind they had and she said their was no choice, it was a plain bagel. When it came out it was an english muffin. Wait staff inattentive. read more

Our stay at the Inn was great! Friendly and helpful staff checked us in at the front desk and we loved our quiet, clean, and comfy room. The location of the Inn is perfect for touring around Jim Thorpe. However, the breakfast food in the Broadway Grill dining room seems to be inconsisten in quality. Maybe two different chefs??? The 2nd morning we had breakfast here was mediocre at best. Which is a shame, bc the 1st morning the food was very good and if all their food was that good this would be a 5 star rating. Let's just say - DO get one of the omelette breakfasts and/or the petite Broadway breakfast. That's what we had 1st day and both were delicious. Do NOT get either the oatmeal or the French toast. Weirdly, the "maple" syrup had no taste to it. Not sure how one can screw up syrup, but it seemed watered down and tasteless so I do NOT recommend you order anything you need to put syrup on. Both of our breakfasts the 2nd day were bland, tasteless, and really not worth the money. But the coffee is very good here and wait staff are friendly and attentive, so kudos to them! read more

This is a historical hotel on a main strip of downtown. There are smaller local shops nearby. There aren't many selections on restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The staff was helpful when we arrived. They give you cookies and also a breakfast voucher for the restaurant that is downstairs. I didn't eat the cookies as they seemed to be stale. I wouldn't recommend going to the restaurant. It was very overpriced and the service wasn't too great. The bed was comfortable, the tv had access to Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc., and the soap in the bathroom smelt great! The only issue with the bedrooms is that the walls are thin. With parking there are some spots located directly behind the hotel, but not many. There are some other parking lots you can park in further away from the hotel too. I imagine in the summer it may be difficult to find parking. I would like to note too that the stairs and hallways are a bit slanted since it is a very old hotel. Those with elderly parents or loved ones may want to keep this in mind. read more

This hotel is incredibly loud at night. I'm on the second floor- there is a balcony opened to the public filled with a very loud party. I kindly asked the front desk to ask them to leave- was told it was policy the balcony remain opened until 11pm. They are literally right outside our window. The beds are like concrete. The room is musty. The ac is loud AF. don't get me started on the the 0230am garbage trucks. read more

We stayed in the "Broadway 55" building adjacent to the main Inn on Broadway. The rooms, as I understand it, are newly renovated. There are less rooms than the main building, so it seems to be quieter. Room 5531 is a mini-suite with in-room two-person jacuzzi tub (no, not heart shaped), fireplace (stand-alone fire furnace) and separate bathroom with stand-up shower. The bed was comfy although I'd probably bring my own pillows next time. We stayed two nights and did the usual touristy things - perusing the antique shops and other knick-knacks, ate at the local restaurants and took in the Christmas decorations. Free wi-fi a plus as were the $7/per person breakfast vouchers at the Broadway Bar and Grill in the main property's building. Breakfast was decent and hearty - we were advised to make reservations but walked in for last minute eats at 10:45 and had no wait. The pre-checkin email advised us that room 5531 was "above a bar that played live music until 11pm" and might be loud. There was no bar in our building, I wonder if they confused the email with a room in the main Inn above the Broadway Bar? Still, the town's church bells were more deserving of a warning. I get the charm, and they're lovely. However I did not understand the random Christmas carols via Church Bells for an hour straight at 9am on a Sunday. And repetitive. No sleeping in here! In all, a great location to center your weekend getaway. read more

Checked out today after 3 days, monday night into Thursday Am. Most unfortunate experience in years, an evaluation shared with Jim Thorpe in general. No one told us the truth about the changes in the OFF SEASON which this obviously was. There was almost no place to park in any of the 5 different tiny areas relegated to the Inn. Cant imagine what its like in July. Check-in was 300pm monday and the restaurant was open until 400pm. Thats right, 4:00pm. The room was tiny, especially the 5 ft wide bathroom. The TV didn't work. Management said it was " because customers keep changing the "input." So they "fixed " the input and it worked.... briefly.. except for finding channels. That was Monday night.. I asked why they don't change the " input" before guests arrive and not wait for complaints. "Oh we have 46 rooms and we cant." Tuesday morning breakfast was good , the waitresses were wonderful. We asked at the desk about supper. "Oh we are closed on Tuesdays." Most of the stores were also closed, virtually all the restaurants were closed. Wife and I went on the Scenic Railway tour for $45.00..The train seats were in need of replacing since Jim T. rode it, they were literally thread-bare with only a few strands mingling with the underlying foam rubber. Disgusting. The tour was 7 slow miles through forest and rocks with a narrator telling what used to be here and was once there before fires. We went under a 6 inch defunct oil pipe which he felt was noteworthy. If the trees had leaves we would not have been able to see the stream. What good is the tour in Summer? Other than being told one spot or other was special for fishermen, there was little to see. The train stopped so the engine could switch to the other end to pull us back, with a repetition of the tour in reverse. Thats when a child screamed for the remainder of the return trip . Back to town on the single file sidewalks, miniature stores ( the few that were open) selling junk from China and India and warning that strollers would not fit indoors. Wednesday, we drove out of town for a respite. Knowing we would need to have supper at 3:30 at the Inn ,we searched in vain for a diner. Back to the room after searching for at least a donut for desert following a 23.00 pizza at Antonios, which offered paper plates but not deserts. We were told the Donut store sells out by 1:00pm. It was closed. I took a photo of a store that had signs saying " open 7 days a week all year long" above a sign that said " closed." Knowing that it meant TV or nothing, we were careful to turn the TV on without trying to change a channel , vowing to settle for whatever came on. Luckily, it was the news. About a half hour later, the TV unceremoniously went off leaving only a grey screen that stayed on all night. The TV could not be turned off or back on. We dismissed ideas of pulling the plug for fear of setting off an alarm. Forget the staff. Bedtime Wed night was again 6:00pm. Thats when we heard loud conversations, realizing that chairs on the balcony outside were right up to our windows. Our poor dog had to endure a kennel for this? NEVER again. My wedding was this past Saturday. I called Sunday evening and asked if they had a room with a jacuzzi and let them know my new husband :) and I just wanted to get away. The gentleman on the phone was so nice and said absolutely we have a master suite available! When we got here, we were blown away! Not only is the room huge but they went out of their way with a bottle of wine for my new husband and myself! Cookies, 20% off the restaurant downstairs (can't wait to go for lunch) and breakfast vouchers. We went down the road to molly mcguires and dinner was fuckin amazing too! The inn was such a good decision and was recommended by a few people at our wedding for a night away before the honeymoon later this year. Though the hotel is old, that's obvious, it is well taken care of and the staff is amazing. We can't wait to come back already. I'm still sitting in our suite with the fireplace on:) I would recommend for a quiet getaway with lots of historic things to do in walking distance and breathtaking views all around! read more

Room 317 was very clean,comfortable and has an awesome 2 person jacuzzi tub. I enjoyed the complimentary chocolate chip cookies on check in along with the K-cups/kuerig provided in the room. The only negative was the Parking situation. read more

We stayed in 310 for a surprise overnight for my birthday! Had a FANTASTIC time! room was great, free live music the night we stayed, the check in guy was incredibly friendly and was very patient with me when I asked a million questions about the history of the area, and the breakfast was soooooooooo good in the morning!!!! Solid accommodations for a historic inn. Room was quite large with a clean, well lit bathroom. Décor was a bit dated but fitting with the property. Service was accommodating and recommended several other places to dine in the area since we came off-season and only their restaurant was open. Parking was easy as they have their own lot. Worth staying at but come in the warmer weather when the town is active and there are more activities to enjoy. read more

I discovered the Inn when I needed a hotel to help break up a 12 hour drive home. The Ramada ended up being $50+ more expensive - I was thrilled that they could accommodate a late arrival without charging me an arm and a leg. (I called to inquire about a room at 6 and was in my hotel room at 6:30.) The Inn's parking lot is quite limited so be aware of that. One of the folks at the front desk offered to move her car so I could park there and I was very appreciative if that! There is street parking - metered until about 6 pm - so there are alternatives. I also was very glad that they had a restaurant attached. I got to sit on the balcony and highly recommend getting one of those tables if it's nice out. The food is pretty good - some was pretty pricey. My salmon was great but the sides were a bit eh. The wine and dessert were amazing! The room itself was pretty small but well maintained. Also, I was a late arrival, staying for one night and by myself. I didn't need a huge room. There seems to be a small front desk staff - two or one whenever I went by - and they were always friendly. I can see longer lines on busier days. It's an old building so I heard a lot if my neighbors but the front desk had earplugs, so problem solved! read more

I wish I didn't have to leave. The front desk staff was so kind, the Broadway Grille and Pub that's attached to the inn has AMAZING food and service...it's been wonderful. I packed up and tried to turn my car on to leave this morning and my battery died, but the gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to offer to jump my car using their jumper cables and even though it didn't work, he was so nice and came out in the freezing cold to try to help. My room was beautiful and I had no issues at all during my stay. read more
