Horrible place. Phone didn't work and neither did the tv. There was only one desk clerk working in the whole place. All the USB ports were broken in the room. There was a big piece of porcelain chipped out of the bathtub. The elevator sounded worse than the defective transmission on my Nissan Sentra. The swimming pool was totally covered over with green scum like a Louisiana swamp. That pool will never be fit to use again. I have pictures of the pool. Mostly truck drivers and construction workers were staying here. Not clean, not maintained, and the only employees I ever saw was one night clerk and one day clerk. It is true what other customers say about the customer service here. I am a big fan of Holiday Inn and unfortunately, this branch makes their brand look really bad. At first when I was making the booking, it seems everything was going well. However, when I asked to check out early, nobody seems to be there to assist us. First, when we checked out, they emailed us someone else's portfolio. Mind you, it has other guests' info on it!!! Then when we checked our bank account, they charge us for the full stay!!! I kept on calling but the front desk staff told me that only their manager can issue a refund. But each time I call, the manager is never around. I had to call corporate, yet they couldn't even get a hold of their manager! At the end, corporate just told me to call my bank and dispute the charges. What a mess! read more

The Front desk on Wed. Evening was welcoming and very nice. Room 322 needs the toilet paper roll attached to the wall, the toilet is loose from the floor and the corners and top edges of the shower need bleach. Cups in the room were not in any kind of sanitary wrap, just open and sitting out. Housekeeping was super nice, super clean room and wonderful bed and pillows. Room was large. My family and I have been staying at this location for sometime now. After learning of new ownership. I hoped the new ones might keep up or even improve on the good service that was accustomed to at this location. I actually was looking forward to being able to continue to enjoy my family's stay while in Forney. First sign of trouble was when we had an AC unit loudly chattering at one of our stays. We were pretty much settled in but asked for help. Well 3:30am the next morning and still a no show for help. We finally were able to fall asleep. I came down that day at check out fully expecting an apology and at least the nights stay comped. The night person had not ever mentioned the 6 phone calls and denied request to change rooms to the morning desk. When I broached the subject I was looked at that I was trying to get something for free. I let it go, but did make them aware of the trouble with our stay. Next trip up I called in and requested our fav room. Only to have them tell me that the desk person had accidentally check people in to it just ahead of our arrival. (Favorite room) has something like a view. Quieter in the corner with the room and shower confirmation I prefer. My work demands a certain amount of doc review etc. And it is nice to be able to look out and have quiet etc. I happily l Yeah, I guess so yeah et it go with a promise it wouldn't happen again. Next trip up 12-30-23 visit. Call two weeks ahead. Reserved the room. Called three days before the trip to remind them of my coming. I was assured all was in order. Called the morning of the trip to authorize prepayment of the room to learn that. The desk person had missed the reservation and book our room through the 2nd. I told them that I understood. That the room under or above would suffice. Gave CC information again to lock room in. Got into town only to hear that the house keeping was behind on cleaning. Asking if we could give them a couple of hours. Actually sitting in the car in the parking lot waiting. Came in to inquire at 4:30ish only to have my mind blown with the news that they had messed up on a stay over in one of the two rooms and gave the other away while this was going on. Still I smile and except their apology. Excepting a smaller room while hearing again the promise. That this would not happen again. All finally good right? Well I just happen to glance at my CC alert to find that they charged me the large room rate for the lesser room I settled for. Thinking that this had to be an easy mistake I called to bring this to there attention. Yeah you guessed it. They didn't want to adjust the rate. Lying to me by saying I had the lowest rate available. Not knowing that it was some of my family in an identical room just next-door paying $30 less for the same night. Sadly these guys don't seem to have respect for their clients. I will happily work with anyone I can help to reach an end. But I have very little patience or respect for people who can behave this way with not even a hint of integrity or true concern. Only an apology for something they make know attempt to rectify. I have adjusted how critical I am to service providers these days. This simply due to the number of posers who try to create issues to demand concession. But it's becoming clear that apologies are liberally given at this establishment with no intention to better their efforts. Never even considering the experience people expect for handing over their hard earned cash. I wonder what it would take for it to cost money, or a deserved free stay in their eyes. Thats when you will see clearly your real value as loyal patrons. Very sad, to see such a nice location be ran taken over by those who really solely a 0 customer service philosophy. read more

The good: Located right off the highway. Room was spacious. The bed was comfy with soft sheets & pillows. The bad: the carpet in the room had several dark stains. When we checked in, the trash can by the 2nd floor elevator was overflowing with trash and a pizza box with pizza still in it sitting on top. All of the trash was still there the next day when we checked out. The light in the stairwell was flashing on & off like a horror movie. Their little 'pantry' store where you can buy drinks & snacks was 99% empty, NO drinks and a few bags of chips. To top it all off: We booked this hotel specifically because it included a 'free' breakfast which we were told was from 7:00-10:00AM. We went down about 8:45 and was told 'nope, sorry, there's no food left'. Really? REALLY?!? When I inquired at the front desk about a partial refund, I was informed 'nope, too bad, you booked through a third party vendor, talk to them'. Final thoughts: DO NOT STAY HERE‼It's clear none of the employees care about the customers or the property. There is a Best Western right next door and THAT'S where we will stay next time. read more

Not clean at all! The bed was very comfortable and looked clean but the bathroom was disgusting. The towels are stiff and little, no softness whatsoever. It was quiet and dark which was nice. The free breakfast had a lot to be desired. It had sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, muffins, bread, a couple cinnamon rolls, pressed egg omelettes without cheese, oatmeal and cereal. The sausage gravy was ok, not horrible and the biscuits were good just slightly hard. The juice was good. There were a stack of bananas that had so many fruit flies because the stack obviously had rotting ones at the bottom. Been a holiday inn customer for years, but they totally spaced my reservation and didn't seam to care. Staid at the Best Western next door instead and will be using them from now on. Seriously $200+ for that!!! I've never been so disappointed in a chain hotel as I was here. To start it off they did not disclose the room rate which isn't uncommon and normally we don't care but it should be mentioned when the rates are jacked up because if a holiday weekend. The first elevator is out of service, the second one we used had a hand rail half broken and hanging down. I noticed because my bag got caught on the hanging part. The room AC kicking on and off sounded like a bad transmission kicking in when it started and stopped. The shelf in the shower was hanging on by a thread and looked as it I touched it it would fall off completely. The 4 way shower massager head was a pleasant sight but yet just a sight with no action. The water TRICKLED out at best. Noting like getting ready for a shower and getting spit on. I'm under the impression the breakfast was included and many staff were hanging out chatting but evidently NONE of them bothered to check the pancake batter and it ran completely out. There for my husband got his hot pancakes while I waited 10 minutes for them to get more and consequently we ate breakfast separately. How about mentioning the train horn that will be blowing every 37 minutes, the auto close on the doors allows you to hear every door closing on your floor as it echos through the halls, the loud music,and people running through the halls also before I waste $200+ on not sleeping before I finish the last leg of my drive. Sorry this not a good place to stay. We made reservations using the IHG app and was quoted $183 for the night, a little high but not bad in comparison to others in the area. When we checked in I was created as an Elite member, which was nice. I was asked if I wanted to use my card on file and I declined and have the clerk the card I wanted to use. During the night I was charged $233 for the room not $183 as I was quoted. I went to the front desk and asked why, I was told the extra cost would be for incidentals. Ok, i reminded him the toilet paper holder was missing and I was not responsible for it. He said we know. (So why not fix it?) later that morning I was notified that my card on file was charged $183. I went back to the front desk and they apologized and said they would refund it. I asked when and was told it could be 3 -5 business days. I asked why and he didn't know. I said you charged both of my cards so why can't you just refund the one you weren't supposed to use at all. NO ANSWER . During breakfast we were told they we're out of meat , what kind of hotel that has a small breakfast bar runs out of meat on a Saturday morning. Also, there was no decaf coffee as they only served regular coffee. Stay tuned as I'll update this as the story develops. My Family & I checked into our room last week and found the room dirty & not properly equipped with towels, face clothes or Shampoo. We found the bathroom floor dirty and some poo in front of the toilet on the floor. The bathroom sink would not drain and immediately filled with water which was very annoying. We were placed in a Handicap room which has a shower where one can just roll in a wheel chair without a threshold. This caused water to flood the bathroom floor each time one of us took a shower. We complained about this and the fact that the shower only had a handheld showerhead with poor pressure. When we called the front desk to ask for more towels and shampoo they suggested we move our room. We packed up all our luggage and belongings and moved to the new room. The very 1st day in that room the toilet clogged. Again, I called the front desk and asked for someone to come and fix the clog, once again their remedy was to move our room. We had just spent about 45 mins. moving to this room, I wasn't wasting more of my time and energy because they didn't have adequate remedies in place or sufficient staff to correct the toilet problem. I asked if they had a Plunger and I would try to clear the clog myself. They brought me the plunger and I fixed the problem. The next day the toilet clogged again so I sent my Son to ask for the Plunger and the Girl at the front Desk told my Son that your Dad is going to get a huge refund for all his trouble. It took over an hour to clear the blockage this time. I was very annoyed and upset that I had to do all this after paying good money to stay here on our Vacation. During our entire stay at this propertyone of the two elevators was not in service which caused us to wait longer than normal for an elevator. The Pool which we planned to use daily to cool off was not in service our entire stay, and was Green and full of algae. I asked the Girl at the desk the night before checking out how will I be compensated for all our aggravation, and she said the manager will be here in the morning and he will take care of me. I asked her to put a note in the computer. We went to check out in the Morning and there was no manager as promised, we were told if we waited a couple hours he would be in. Well that was a problem as we were heading to the airport to fly home. They promised me not to settle the bill until The manager called me which he never did. I called back when I arrived at my home and was told the manager wasn't in. I asked why he never called me and they had no answer. I called back the next morning and was told he would be in any moment and I asked to wait. They put me on hold and after 5 minutes they hung up the phone. I immediately called back and asked why they hung up on me and the girl got very snotty and said she didn't hang up it was a mistake. I have yet to hear from the manager to settle my bill. I called Holiday Inn Headquarters Guest relations, and after 20 minutes of telling this same story to 2 different people, was ultimately offered points. I don't want points, I want to be compensated for our aggravation. The guest relation manager at the Headquarters said she would call and email the manager at our hotel to call, and that he would have up to 48 hrs. to return my call. I asked to have the President of Holiday Inns phone number or email and they refused to give it to me. Ultimately there is noone to resolve the problem, Whatever they choose to do or not to do is their call, you have no recourse. This hotel chain is not interested in satisfying the customer or even taking care of them. They are in no way interested in your complete satisfaction, it's only lip service and Sorry's, nothing else. I will never ever return to stay at any this Holiday inn or any other. I will definitely not recommend anyone stay at the Forney, Texas Holiday Inn Express and Suites. This hotel is Dirty, understaffed and unfit to have guests. Don't waste your money. read more

Would not recommend staying here. The young girls at the check in desk have zero customer service nor know how to dress appropriately. Rompers are not work attire when your ass is hanging out. The rooms are not clean at all. The first room we stayed at had dead crickets all over. Floors have stains and dead bugs all over. The sheets and blankets you can tell do not get washed as those are stained as well. Stayed for a week and asked for new sheets and all they did was remake the bed. Absolutely terrible customer service. We were arriving very late and tried to call ahead to make sure they kept our room. When we arrived, the desk clerk said the phones had been down for 2 days, but our room was still available. He had trouble checking us in, but would not explain the reason. Then he rudely told me to just go sit and wait for five minutes, then he would call me. No! It was the longest check in I have ever experienced with a paid for room reservation. Has he explained that the phone not working was preventing the incidental fee from processing, causing the delay in check-in, I would have been much more understanding. However, keeping me just waiting was unacceptable. The room has peeling paint in the bathroom, no tissues, not enough towels for the 4 occupants, used toiletries still in the bathroom, and Spiders in the bathtub. My expectations for Holiday Inn has been shaken and did not appreciate the incredibly rude service. read more

Tessia was great. She was very professional and friendly. Was very shocked to discover she was new. The owner should definitely keep her around. She knew what she was doing and I had a question and she looked at what looked like notes she had taken and she found the answer. She was very sweet and very well mannered. She deserves a raise, promotion or employee of the month or something for doing it on her own without assistance. Will visit again now thanks to her! Seems like the hotel staff is on vacation, the lady at the desk called some of my co workers "dumbasses" for walking around a "wet floor" sign. The hotel manager showed up after the cops were called and the cops left promptly, realizing she was the instigator. The lady called the "manager" who looked like she woke up from a nap, actually saying she was mad because she was "trying to sleep" and threatening to fight everyone. She told everyone to leave and we went to the best western to finish up our business. She kicked a total of 60 customers out. We are a storm response team and stopped here to stage for the hurricane, we would have otherwise been frequenting this hotel, but because of the poor service, we will not unless we get an apology and action taken by management. read more

I was a little apprehensive after reading other reviews but we had a very good experience there. The lobby is modern and clean, our room was comfortable, the hotel was quiet, and the front desk staff people were consistently courteous and efficient. The gentleman who checked us out really went above and beyond, retrieving my ear buds which I forgot when packing up for an early flight home, and holding them until my relative could pick them up later that day. It was a little hard to get used to not having daily housekeeping, but I understand they've had to modify services due to COVID. read more

On first appearance of the lobby everything seemed pretty clean however when getting to my room would not consider the visible stains on the carpet and lack of cleaning in the bathroom up to standard for even non-covid times. There was hair left in the trash that must not have fully been taken out and hair in the bathroom. In the bathroom there was also a lack of paper towel holder that seems pretty standard for a hotel bathroom. Having two towels for a room with two queen beds seems dumb when you're trying to decrease contact with the front desk and house keeping coming once during our week long stay. Also seems to have the smoke detector unplugged and the vent in the bathrooms seems to not be functioning. Hopefully at least I'm sleeping on clean sheets. ***update manager listened to the complaints and moved us to a room that is clean and in working order, very accommodating and cared a lot that his room was not in working order read more
