For the area, It was the most affordable and available at the time of booking. The lady at the front desk that checked me into my room was very nice and friendly. One slight drawback was that I was assigned to an accessible room. It was fine with me as long as everything was clean and in good working condition. It was in a pretty quiet area and the bed was comfortable, so I was able to get a good night's sleep before heading out early for my race.

If you forgot toiletries, the bathroom has a full-size body wash, shampoo, and conditioner dispenser. The room also included a full kitchen: full-size fridge, microwave, stove top, sink, and dishwasher. I was pretty impressed that the kitchen also included knives, utensils, pots, pans, dishcloths, plates, and complimentary popcorn. Of course there was the standard tv, coffee, and queen size bed. Dee at the front desk was incredible - she was so friendly and helped with all of our booking and switching cards etc. The breakfast was good, all the staff we encountered was friendly and very responsive. Rooms are pretty basic and could be updated, but for our needs were fine. They had local WV products for toiletries which I thought was cool. They also have a GREAT gift shop, I never buy from hotel gift shops, but this one had so many great unique finds, I had to get some. The indoor pool room was insanely hot - not sure if that was due to the HVAC being out or they just keep it at that temp, but that would be the only con for me. It was kind of unbearable to sit and watch the kids swim. Didn't seem to bother the swimmers at all though. I loved that they were pet friendly and we were able to bring our dog with us. It was only $40 for the whole stay rather than per night. They had a dedicated pet area very close to the room for us to take him out. Would stay here again.

They have wi-fi internet but you have to be outdoors to use it (something about the signal not going through the brick walls of the hotel - they're working on it). Staff is also willing to let you work in their lobby if you really need internet access. Room was better than expected with a microwave and small fridge. Rates are reasonable. Railroad tracks just across the highway, but there weren't many trains (at least not that I heard) and, of course, the highway is 10s of feet away from rooms. Otherwise, the night was quiet. Despite the inconvenience of not having in-room internet, I will probably make this a regular stop on my regular business route. I really like being able to park directly in front of my room and run out to the car if I've forgotten something.

The other desk agent was goofing off behind the desk, not helping the growing line of patrons waiting to check in. When it was finally my turn, the desk agent asked for the EXACT SAME Information i had already provided for pre-registration online. What a waste of time. Then I get the key and go to the room. I open the door to discover that the heat is blasting, the room was 110 degrees, and the beds are DISASSEMBLED with stained mattresses propped up vertically. I immediately returned to the desk but had to WAIT IN LINE AGAIN. I picked up the manager's business card in the lobby. But it was not the mgr that answered when I called. It was the other desk agent that was goofing off. The email address on my receipt was not a valid email. It bounced back as an invalid email. The worker goofing off told the other one that "we had a car" and we "could leave and go somewhere else" and she should "not sweat her incompetence or lack of hospitality".

But our beds had stains, shower curtain had stains, AC unit had mold, roaches, and nothing seemed to be cleaned the bathroom smelled like it was never cleaned. We requested for our rooms to be cleaned but when they went to clean it all they did was vacuum. The sheets would never be changed, nor the towels and nothing would get wiped down. We had to go to the store and buy cleaning products to clean which I'm sure they saw it when we left. We also had to buy scent stuff cause the hotel in general smelled like cigarettes which was also disgusting and hard to sleep with that smell. If I could rate this place lower I would. And I'd definitely recommend them to train their staff on everything from front desk to house keeping. I'll NEVER be staying there again.
