This is an older looking hotel on the inside. The rooms have been nicely renovated and my room was comfortable and clean. Common areas are still old and a smidge worn looking. Overall a decent stay for a night. The included breakfast and friendly hotel employees (especially the lady in the breakfast area) was a plus. read more

We are passing through on our way to Minnesota and stopped for the night. The price was right for a king size bed and the room was nice and clean -no complaints :). The breakfast was good and the food area was nice and clean and well stocked. The hotel lobby was clean and every employee that we encountered was nice and friendly. The hotel was in the middle of being remodeled. OK, no problem, though it would obviously have been nicer to stay in the completed part. I was less impressed by the "closed" pool and hot tub, which were accessible but freezing and slightly warm, respectively. At least the breakfast was good; I originally tried biscuits and gravy as kind of a joke, but HIE's biscuits and pork-sausage gravy have made me a fan. read more

We checked in well after midnight and the staff got us into our rooms in no time. The true highlight of our stay was the delightful employee Sheryl who let us enjoy the continental breakfast after it was supposed to be shut down. We woke up late due to our late arrival and she was glad to accommodate. While I enjoyed my sandwich and cereal Sheryl regaled me with various continental ingredient combinations that she'd implement to keep the breakfast interesting day-to-day. If you want to know how to make an oversized DIY McGriddle be sure to talk to Sheryl, and encourage her to release that continental recipe book that's in her head! We do a lot of traveling so it's easy for every hotel to blur together, but this was certainly a stand out. Thank you again, Sheryl! read more

Room was booked forty days in advance and held on a credit card. Booking Information said it would not be charged until check-in. Fee's were charged to the card that I used to reserve the room with when I made my Reservation, while in route to the Hotel, prior to check-in time. My card was charged PAID in FULL! When I arrived to the Hotel I informed them that the fees had already been charged to my account and provided them with proof of my Bank charges. They told me I hadn't been charged yet and tried to charge me again on the same Debit card. Bank would not process the fee since it could tell it was a duplicate fee. The desk clerk got her Manager/Owner of the Hotel and he would not let me check in, because he said it had not been paid for. I had to double pay for the room with a different form of payment and then Contact my bank and go through the hassle of having the fees reversed. Once the owner arrived he displayed an immediate Attitude and refused to look at my Banking info showing his company charged my card. He clearly DID NOT want me staying at his Hotel! Amazing ,flat out Discrimination just wanted what I Paid for! Every staff member I interacted with was nice and professional Except for the owner. read more

Dated, ( If I had to guess Id say its 20-25 yrs old ) there are no USB outlets, TV remote only volume buttons worked nothing else, 50% of the grout was missing from the bathroom floor. Breakfast was nasty and theres a bunch of water stains on the ceiling. It was visually clean. Pillows and bed were comfortable. Worth $50 but not $100 read more

Complimentary breakfast was awful. The male worker in the breakfast area used a towel to wipe the sweat from his face, layed the towel on the counter and after working on the waffle (pancake?) machine, used the same towel to wipe down the waffle machine. Absolutely the most unsanitary thing I've seen. When we reported this to the desk clerk his response was "interesting". We won't be staying there again. read more

AVOID!!! Keep driving! Worst hotel experience EVER! The rooms were moldy and smelled of mildew BADLY! The hotel is NOT Clean and smell was OVERPOWERING! My husband and I checked in and the first room was not cleaned from previous guests. Also, it SMELLED BAD. We went back to front desk and were given another room. THAT room had no housekeeping from previous guests. On our 3rd try, the very nice lady at the front desk said because it was very late and for our inconvenience.........she was going to let us stay in "THE OWNERS SUITE" at a discounted rate as well! We were very happy, UNTIL, we entered the owners suite! It, like the rest of the hotel, SMELLED BAD & it was NOT very clean. Phew ..... We slept a couple hours and left very, very early! We were sick for two days, from the mold and mildew! AWFUL Establishment! Very disappointing for a Holiday Inn Express. AVOID! read more

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. When we booked the room they told us check in at 3. My husband waited an hour and half finally checked in at 4:45. The place was total chaos. When we finally made it to the room for the night, after long day at the softball fields, we found that the elevator was broke and we were lugging ice chests up the stairs. In the room no sheets for the pull out bed that had a giant, what looked like blood stain on it. The room was filthy, not cleaned properly hair all over the bathroom, floor not vacuumed, food in the chair and we found exoskeletons from bed bugs. My daughter even found a pill under her bed. Lamp was missing light bulb and the security lock on our door was broken. Now we can talk about the service, it was just as crappy, rude when we checked in and a different man was rude when I trekked back down the stairs to get sheets. He sighed when I ask for bedding and pillows. And now I sit here 11:20 pm with many people running the halls, banging on doors all while the front desk will do nothing. read more

Surpassed my expectations. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable, and the breakfast was delightful. I'm usually a mole when in a hotel (run to my room and hide until the morning), but I had a few issues that brought me to the front desk more than once. The young man on duty was just wonderful. He let me know he was new and apologized, but was always able to find what I needed or offer suggestions. I will stay at holiday inn express because of this experience. read more

Pulled off the interstate to 11pm on a Tuesday night. Greeted by friendly faces with prompt service. Room was very clean. Breakfast was amazing. Pool was nice for me as it was an oval of three to four feet and allowed me to get my workout in. read more

Very nice place to stay on the outskirts of Perry. Rooms are modern, clean and have refrigerator, microwave, coffee/tea pot and LCD Television in each guest room. Workout room contains an elliptical, treadmill and bike, along with a TV, towels, water cooler etc. Indoor pool at 4' deep and hot tub are nice and clean. Staff is very friendly and professional. Breakfast(included with room) is comprehensive and includes hot items like bacon, omelets, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy and pancakes along with pancake maker, bagels, cereal, assorted juices, coffee and milk. Was very quiet and comfortable on the night I stayed. Well lit and very secure with room card needed for exercise and pool area. 3 Bellhop carts inside the frond door. I'd stay here again. read more

The hotel isn't too bad, rooms are clean and big. I guess the only downfall, they don't have guest washers or dryers.

We had a negative experience here. We came back late after a day away and our room had not been cleaned. Our dirty towels had not been replaced and the bed had not been made. When I called the front desk, I was asked "Were you a sleep over?" When I responded "yes, we are." She said "Oh, well we don't clean the rooms for sleep overs." What?!!! My husband was on his way home from a business trip. He called an ask me to find a Holiday Inn Express in Perry. I found this one. I called the 800 number and made the reservation, I advised that my husband would be paying in cash. I gave the operator a credit card number only after she assured me the card would not be charged, it was just holding the reservation. When my husband arrived the desk clerk would not accept cash, he advised that he would accept the cash at check out, he advised that the card would not be charged. Well the card was charged not only once, but three times, causing an overdraft on our account. When I called the next morning to report to the clerk that the card had been charged, he advised that the money would be put back on the card within three days. They had been paid in cash and then charged the card. I called the hotel later in the morning speaking with "Jessica" she advised that the money would be put back and that she could not provide me with information regarding the owner of the hotel. The money was returned later that morning, but not the overdraft fee. Then on the following Monday, November 26th the card was charged again. I sent a complaint to the Holiday Inn Site and nothing has been done. If you want your money stolen, music in the halls all night and staff that do not know the company policies and procedures, stay here. read more
