I had a lovely stay at the Holiday Inn. It was the perfect location to attend my friend's engagement party at the Marina, 5 minutes drive away. The room was comfy- bed was comfortable, shower had nice hot water. I loved the convenience of the free electric charging for my car. Lastly, breakfast was delicious. Horace was wonderful to bring out fresh eggs and sausage. I finished my breakfast and he asked if I wanted some food to go. I was leaving that morning, but I greatly appreciated that offer. Pulling up to Holiday Inn, it looks rather new. Walking in, it's well lit and I love the floors. The elevators missed the remodel because they were kind of spooky inside. Not well lit at all. However, The front desk staff were pleasantly friendly. The young lady even provided me with a flyers of local places to eat in the area. I arrived late so Many places were closing soon. It was the thought that counted for me. My Room 511 was super spacious. King size bed comfortable. I bit too high but I managed to get in and out without falling. Looks like it's been remodeled. Hard wood laminate flooring. Nice size Flat screen TV. Bathroom and shower were nice. The detail to cleanliness is the missing Star. Floors were clean. I can see the large size stains...Hmmm. It didn't keep me from getting a good nights rest. Breakfast the next morning was rather delightful. I held a great conversation with the female attendant about the city and things to do on my next visit. They offered a variety of food options. I grabbed the egg and cheese Omlette, smothered it with a bit of sausage gravy & headed on my way. read more

I get to the hotel and wait in the lobby for a solid 15 minutes because nobody is there for check in. Get to my room which is fine - interior is old and has not been renovated in a hot minute. No hand soap in the room which leads me to believe someone might not have cleaned it/refreshed it prior to my stay. Sheets are...questionably clean. There's a makeup stain on them. Breakfast made me want to cry after all this. I come down and there's absolutely no hot food. The famous Holiday Inn pancake machine doesn't exist here. Holding back my screams of rage, I go to get some coffee only to find IT HAS NOT BEEN BREWED. Maybe this is the best Augusta has to offer. I don't know. But I'd recommend the Hampton Inn. read more

Per the night auditor on duty, General Manager Boatwright instructed staff not to check in guests after a certain hour. My friend arrived shortly after 2:00 a.m. and was informed that the original reservation had been canceled and marked as a no-show. That determination, in itself, was understood and not contested. What followed, however, was far more troubling. They did not ask for the original reservation to be reinstated. They willingly agreed to pay for a new reservation. Nevertheless, they were told that no guests were permitted to check in after a certain time, regardless of circumstance. This policy was entirely unfamiliar to me, and if it is indeed an official policy its absence from your IHG property website is deeply concerning. At minimum, such a restriction should be clearly disclosed, and the option for late-night check-in should be removed to avoid misleading future guests. While they certainly could have taken their business elsewhere. Snowy weather and hazardous road conditions made continued travel unsafe. The hotel had been booked precisely to avoid a long, dangerous drive home in the middle of the night, through worsening conditions. Denying lodging under these circumstances was not merely inconvenient, it placed a paying guest in a vulnerable and potentially dangerous position. Hospitality is not just about policy enforcement but about judgment, care, and human consideration especially when safety is at stake. I would appreciate a direct response from the General Manager clarifying the hotel's late-night check-in policy. I will also be reaching out to IHG to seek further clarification, as this experience raises serious concerns about transparency, guest expectations, and duty of care. read more

It's an older hotel sir, but it checks out. I was pleasantly surprised on my two night stay at this conveniently located hotel right smack dab in downtown Augusta. I wasn't there for the Masters or anything, so the price of the hotel was very affordable, and put me within walking distance of a lot of great restaurant and sightseeing options downtown on Broad street. From check in to check out, all staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was kept very clean, from my room that was spotless on arrival, to the common areas, and even the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Speaking of that breakfast, one of the best I have had in quite some time for an included breakfast, especially in the post pandemic era! I am very picky about eggs, and was happy to see they were being changed out often. Bacon was crispy, sausage savory, even the biscuits and gravy were pretty good (this is Georgia after all)! Even with it being downtown and somewhat close to a main thoroughfare, I had no issues with noise outside or within the hotel. I slept comfortably on the bed which was a nice balance of soft and firm. The wifi was fast enough to get my work done within my room, and there was plenty of room to move around for a solo traveler. All in all, a very pleasant experience, and I would stay here again! read more

The room had a microwave that barely worked. Took forever to warm something. No bedbugs which I'm always grateful for. I am never coming back to this hotel. I extended my stay and the person at the front desk confirmed that it is done. Next morning while I was at office, I got a call from the front desk that I have been booted out of my room. Apparently, the extension didn't go through their system. My clothes were dumped in my suitcase along with shoes with no consideration to any hygiene. I was given another room later when I returned from work with my suitcase at the front desk. Later when I checked my belonging few clothes were missing. I made a complaint to which their response was that the earlier room has been checked and nothing has been left behind. I talked to the duty manager. She was rude and did not understand my anguish on being booted out of the room and losing clothes justifying that I did not extend my booking and the hotel did the right thing. Never expected this. I hope that none of the customers of Holiday Inn/ Intercontinental Hotels have to go through such an experience. read more

When my company sent me on a business trip and they instructed me I had to stay within a specific budget for lodging, I hopped on the internet to begin my search for lodging arrangements. I moaned a little when the only hotel they popped up was a Holiday Inn Express. That moan changed to a joy when I arrived here in downtown Augusta!!! From check in to the room I was instantly impressed my the decorum and warm atmosphere the hotel provided. Check in was a breeze and the room, bed, water pressure, amenities for spot on. Top all that off with a 6:00am breakfast complete with fresh hot flapjacks biscuit and gravy and a plethora of other breakfast favs and I was compelled to get on yelp and show this place some love. upon arrival i figured this was a typical Holiday Inn. Seemed tidy an such but when i got up to my room and went into the bathroom there was a half smoked cigarette stuck in the toilet paper which fell to the floor when I tried to use it. Gross! What else is lurking beneath the surface here? Cleaning crew needs to get it together a little bit more. Room smells like smoke. yuck! The staff here was great stop here while we are on tour and I give five stars not just for the room but for the amazing staff! They have a great shuttle van that can take you to your destinations which was a big plus in our situation. The room: my room was very clean bed was very comfortable pillows were like sleeping on clouds. I love rooms that have good coffee creamer and sugar included in it. I didn't get a chance to hit the pool but it look very clean. If you're in the area and need a nice place to stay I highly recommend you check out this Holiday Inn. Over all: I would definitely stay here again I can't stress enough how amazing the staff is it truly makes the four-star hotel a five star. This Hotel was clean inside and out. They had secured parking and security all night. The staff in every area at all times was professional, friendly and accommodating. The food and drink was exceptionally presented and good quality and variety. They even hid cookies at four daily and Taco Tuesday with fresh salad and dressing for free! It was too cold for me to try the pool but it looked clean. Rooms were spacious with all amenities. Clean, excellent service, good location, and reasonably priced made this a 5 Star stay for me. Tabitha had us check in and out and split our billing per our business's rules in a snap despite the archaic way we had to have it split. The hotel has a small but clean outdoor pool. It is located at the end of the downtown district it and most of the downtown areas is accessible by waking or by Joe or Brandy who always seem more than happy to take you to your destination with the complimentary shuttle. They have a 24/7 shuttle service that will take you anywhere within a 10 mile radius. We stayed for a total of 3 nights 4 days to view the Solar Eclipse in South Carolina. The first room we were checked into did not have hot water. They moved us to a different room. That room had a bad toilet that we had to fix ourselves with a plunger. We had a very early flight in the AM and when I got in the shower at 4:00 am there was NO HOT WATER. I called the front desk and they indicated that a manager wouldn't be on duty until 7:00 am and there was nothing they could do. I advised them that we were checking out at 5:10 am and asked that the Manager call me when they got in at 7:00 am. To this date I have had no phone call. They didn't offer any discount or refund. I had to take a cold shower. It was awful. read more

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and where able to check in a little early. Most of our rooms are very clean. One couple with us asked to be moved and was promptly attended too. Kay at the front desk is terrific. She promptly checked us in, informed us of local eat spots, and gave us each a bottle of water before we headed to our rooms for the evening. At night I felt very secure as I would go outside from time to time for a cigarette. The bellmen/security would be posted up and roaming the parking lot for extra security. The only downside is that you have to request room cleaning service on the night before. I'd prefer that the cleaning attendant knock and ask if you want the service or not. Overall, great staff, clean rooms, and decent free breakfast I rated them a 4 because the pool isn't working. Bummer for summer season. read more

I have now stayed at this hotel a total of three nights (two separate occurrences), and I am quite impressed. It is pretty clean, and up to date. The rooms are nice, and have nice, flat screen, HD TVs that are probably about 37" or bigger. The floors are pretty clean, and the bathrooms are decent - the tubs are relatively new, so they're clean, and all of our linens were clean as well - not dingy and gross off-white. The staff is quite friendly as well. We did not partake in the breakfast, but they have a couple things down there that you can get for free any time of the day - such as apples and bananas. The outdoor pool looked nice and clean, but it was closed (assuming for the season). The only real quirk about this place is that is has two "secure" parking lots on either side of the building. This is fine and great, except for the fact that the walk-in gate on one of the parking lots is broken, so anyone can just walk right on in and still steal your car lol. All jokes aside, this place is very nice for being on the shadier side of downtown Augusta, and there are plenty of places within walking distance (restaurants mostly), depending on what "walking distance" is for you. I would absolutely stay again. We had a room with double beds the first time, and the room had a sizable difference compared to the room with a king size bed - obviously because they only had to fit one bed vice two. read more

Newly built and opened in April 2014. I visited this location to check out a meeting space I wanted to use for an event. The staff was nice and accommodating. They showed me the space and let me know if could be tailored to meet my needs. Because the hotel is newer everything is nice and clean. The location is in the downtown Augusta area towards Olde Town. This is was desperately needed in the area. The only other hotel close to this one needs major updating. I'll update after my event, but I have a feeling it will be a stellar review. read more

I would never stay here again! I asked so many questions to be sure it would work for me, but it did not. My trip was cut short due to circumstances, but if it hadn't been I would have moved! 1. There are 2 parking areas that are gated for your safety. EXCEPT, one won't open & the other doesn't close. So, your safety isn't insured. 2. Room keys cannot be kept near your telephone or any credit, debit card. So, not in your handbag. Men of course could keep one in a pocket. I suppose women can keep the card in your bra, maybe your shoe, let's think⁉ 3. I came back to my room after a long day only to find it wasn't cleaned. I called, "So sorry, I'll have someone there right away". Someone came to say, "so sorry, I'll be back in just 10 minutes-30 minutes later I called the desk & said just leave some towels by my door! On my way out for dinner I was told they don't clean the rooms during COVID unless you are leaving. Everybody's got an answer! 4. There has been some unrest in cities recently & I was a little uncomfortable with the young men "hanging out" under the portico. They didn't bother me, but they were not employees & I had not seen them inside the hotel they were just laughing & talking & "hanging out". 5. As I was leaving there was a nice looking young woman there with a young child that asked me to take her, the child, & their luggage to the bus station. I would love to help someone, & offered her $ for a taxi but only a ride with me would satisfy her. I refused. I am an elderly woman traveling alone to visit a very sick relative. These are problems I don't need. Lastly, the night before I left the telephones went out. We received notification to use our cellular phones if we needed to make a call! NO STARS! read more

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel was unclean and the staff were rude! I was unfairly charged for a noise ordinance a day after I checked out because another guest claimed my guest and I were loud. Unbeknownst to me I was charged $100 for excessive noise and was not informed EVER. What confused me most, was that if the noise level were that excessive we would have been asked to leave, we were not. I came to find out I was charged by looking at my bank account statement and was not informed by management that I was charged. The manager was rude and unprofessional on so many levels.If you're ever in Augusta, GA stay some place else, this place is horrible. read more

Clean, New and reasonably priced. This Holiday Inn Express is on par with others in the brand. The staff was polite and the rooms clean. Beds are very comfortable. Parking is gated which is nice considering the neighborhood is in renewal. My only complaints would be a lack of soundproofing on the doors. I slept fine, but a lighter sleeper might be woken by noise from the hall. Also I wish the showers were hotter. There seems to be a governor on the heat level (probably due to the damn lawyers). read more

This is easily one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff was very courteous, knowledgeable and got exactly what we needed very quickly. The beds were incredibly comfortable! It felt like sleeping on clouds, that had memory foam...so better than clouds. The breakfast is a fantastic spread from pancakes to little omelettes to passion fruit & mango juice! I had my first sales demonstration for my first full time job (pre-first paycheck), and I was scheduled to arrive at Augusta from Texas 45 minutes before the demo. Since it was a 2 hour lag time before the next step of my trip, I rented a business office for an hour; Debra and her team accommodated me with scheduling, my three schedule changes, nerves, etc. When the Greyhound arrived late I was able to work with her staff to get me in room quicker by calling to facilitate check-in/payment/calling the shuttle bus which promptly came. I was surprised by how knowledgeable every person I came in contact was regarding my requests and answering questions. The room was quiet, and the internet was ~35Mbps up/ ~25Mbps down which is fast enough for a join.me presentation. I appreciate these good people at this Holiday Inn Express's good work. read more

I'll start by saying that this is my first stay with any Holiday Inn Express, and it definitely be my last! I booked eight months ago and didn't read the reviews (the horror!) before doing so, so I didn't have any Uber high expectations. I figured a hotel is a hotel is a hotel, right. Well HIE proved that I'm wrong. Doesn't happen often but hey, I'll admit it! It is in the middle of downtown Augusta and seems to be central to a bunch of different places. The check in process couldn't have been easier! The sweet girls at the check in desk were super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to help when I had a few questions. We were to be going to The Dan and Phil: Interactive Introverts show later in the evening so I asked the best route to take and she sweetly told me that their shuttle would happily take us there and return for us when it was over!!! The thing runs all over town 24/7! Who does that!?!?! Holiday Inn Express does! Once in our room we found it clean and the perfect temperature as it was hotter than two hells outside! We had plenty of towels, fluffy pillows and very comfy beds! When it was time for the show we just went downstairs and let them know we were ready to go to the Bell Auditorium. A very sweet girl took us there and danged if she didn't show up shortly after the show was over!! They offer free breakfast downstairs, which we missed, because we're trying to get out of here. Housekeeping had already been around to see if we need anything before our departure. If you're looking for a place to stay while visiting Augusta, GA, do yourself a favor and stay here! Oh and they have a pool!!! Oh snap, at almost 11 last night we wanted ice cream... guess what!!! They had it! They have a crap ton of snacks!! A little over priced but it was worth it!! Enjoy! We recently stayed at this Holiday Inn Express in Augusta, and it was fantastic. The hotel is very centrally located to a lot of restaurants and bars and is easily walking distance from everything in downtown Augusta. The lobby is super clean and nice, and the free breakfast was top notch. There's also a little market for snacks and drinks, as well as any other sundries you may need. Our rooms were super spacious and clean. Best of all was the kind staff. The front desk managers were so nice and welcoming, and they did everything they could to make sure our stay was comfortable. They were easily the most attentive staff I've come across in recent years, and we travel a lot for work. We can't wait to come stay here again when we are back in the Augusta area! read more

About what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. My only real complaint is the location. It's really not very convenient and it's in a really sketchy part of downtown. Most of downtown is pretty sketchy anyway but this must be the worst part. Your neighbors are a couple of strip bars and pawn shops. You have to walk several long blocks to get to any restaurants and have to pass what looks to be a homeless shelter where people approach you for money. I would not feel comfortable coming and going from this hotel at night. Better off staying at the HIE out off Washington Rd. More convenient to restaurants and the interstate and the area feels safer. read more
