Quickly after the gatekeeper came to help her and then he offered to take our luggage to our room. Then she helped us on the check in process and offered all the amenities that they had. She also offered the shuttle and recommended a time of departure. Overall I was impressed with their level of attention! We won't have dinner here based on the other reviews...our taxi driver recommended Tacos Mincho (he said across the highway) as the best option for local tacos. I'm going to try it :)

I arrived very late past my check in time due to adverse weather in Houston, and she still took time to help me get my devices online so that I could update my charts and study. Not only that, the breakfast was awesome when I wasn't too early for it! The van took me severely spots saving me after a couple days of über eats fees, and stops at nearby gas stations. The rooms were clean and the only issue I could see is they hired a cheap contractor for the bathrooms that clearly have no clue how to grout. If you're too early for breakfast they offer breakfast bags, Just inform them, and enjoy the pool while you're at it (they have a hot tub, but can't figure out why bent in Phoenix and all). They also have a lot of convenient drawers in the bathroom and bedside that I forget to take pictures of that made my stay more convenient than any other hotel since I began my airline journey along with normal AC plugs and USB next to the bed! This is one of the more comfortable beds I've slept in as a flight crew in a while, so check them out! I only take a star away because three of the drivers were very rude. They wouldn't even acknowledge thanks for rides, took an hour to pick us up once, and some didn't want to help with bags. Felix was awesome though!

Breakfast was probably the most incredible experience. They had it all. Something to fit an American's, German's or Japanese person's fancy and then some. Just about anything you could think of, they had it. A well balanced breakfast with plenty of veggie options, made-to-order eggs, sweets, breads and pastries, waffles, cereal, a few different kinds of juice. All this for around 200 pesos. Naturally it was the easiest choice to make and I got breakfast downstairs every day. The gym was very nice, new and clean. There were free weights, weighted pulley equipment, stationary bikes and treadmills just to name a bit of what they had. There's an incredible breezy courtyard with a picturesque and inviting pool. All staff were friendly and the front desk graciously spoke plenty of English for me to get around comfortably without having to try out my Spanish. The room was clean and incredibly comfortable. It was at the level of any business travel grade hotel in the US. Cleaning staff made up the room nicely every day. There's a safe in the room though I never felt need to use it and never had anything go missing. The shower was great, although there was a bit of a standing water issue while using it. This was either cleaned and dried by staff everyday or did so simply due to the dryer environment. Lastly, there is a "Game On" sports bar attached to the hotel as an alternative place to eat and grab a few drinks with the coworkers at the end of the day. this past visit was my 3rd time staying at this holiday inn for work. after 5 years, nothing…read morereally has changed much, the facility is still pretty well-kept, but i am starting to see a lot of newer hotel properties sprouting around town so they're going to have to step it up soon. biggest complaint for most people is the traintrack that runs right behind the hotel... since the intersections in town don't have crossing signals, the train literally will blast the horn coming in and out of town, even during curfew hours. so if you're a light sleeper, best get a room on the street facing side. i got assigned to a double room this time, which wasn't as spacious and nice as the last room i got which had a single bed. salamanca has gotten very unsafe over the years but the hotel property felt really safe / secure. not that there are armed guards stationed or anything, but the entrances to the property all seem pretty secure, and room key is required for elevator access... but the stairs tho... another story. free for all. overall clean, linens fresh, no plumbing or ac issues for me, thank god, but one of the elevators stopped working during our trip and it never got fixed before we left, so 1 elevator alone for the property was quite painful since the elevators are so small. love that a pretty comprehensive breakfast buffet is included, but the food is decent if you stick to the mexican food and forgo the japanese options.

First, when we walked into the room to leave the luggage (around 18:00 hrs. local time) we noticed that there were a LOT of mosquitoes in the room; the room was also extremely hot (32 deg. C). So I turned the AC on to cool the room and learned that the AC did not work. When we returned to the room two hrs. later, we were not just accosted by the 100ds of mosquitoes but were sweating our butts of due to the heat. Called management to see what could be done, get another room or something; but were told there was nothing they could do. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
