Definitely a Holiday Inn EXPRESS. The rooms are spartan and efficient. While there are a few shelves on which you can out things there is no proper dresser. I guess I can accept that; however would it be so awful to provide a foldaway luggage stand? Bathroom is an efficient use of space, with soap, shampoo/bodywash provided in wall mount dispensers. Hairdryer is also included. One peculiar omission: face cloths (aka flannel, aka washcloth). Two thirsty towels are provided, just nothing for you to wash with. Boo. Also, for some reason, he heating and air con seems to be a bit dodgy. Set it to 25, the room warms nicely, and then, sometime during the night, instead of shutting off, it starts blowing cold air. The thermostat still reads 25, but it is like the blower unit has gone on break. The result: wake up around 1ish and turn it off manually. As for the beds? Um, hard. Like, woke-up-and-my-body-is-aching-like-an-old-man hard. Rumor is this place is due for a refit, and the mattresses are at the top of the list ... PLEASE let this be true! So, with all of these criticisms, why a 3, instead of a 2? The staff. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! This team -- and I have dealt with at least 6 of them -- are all exceptional. The rooms are clean and kept that way. The staff is focused on customer service above and beyond! When I asked one where I might find some wrapping paper for a birthday present, she brought some in from home the following shift! The other team members have been so very responsive and attentive. They would fit in just fine at a 5-star establishment. Will we use this facility again? Yes -- as long as the mattresses have been replaced ;) read more
