Pretty nice hotel,,, massive boutiquey style lobby. Tons of couches and sit down chairs everywhere. Front desk is pretty nice, but located in a aisle way which can get pretty busy. Rooms are pretty good as well. Nice and sizable, theres also a big window if you're wanting to look outside or for some natural light. The sheets on the bed, pillows and a comforter just i case you get cold. Desk, a chair, dresser and a TV on top. Bathroom has a sink and faucet combo with the giant mirror. Shower, tub and towels everywhere. Soap and shampoo on a dispenser on the wall for the OCD types. Yes!! It's definitely a nice hotel. Located close to shops and restaurants. It's even connected to a mini mall type with grocery shops and such. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

This is a large Holiday Inn (over 300 bedrooms) just across the Isar River from the Aldstadt. It's 10-15 minutes to Marienplatz on foot, just 5 minutes to the Deutsche technical museum. It is connected by an underground passage (with its own entrance) to Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn station, which is two stops from Marienplatz station, and on a direct line (S8) from the airport. The passage has a large Hit supermarket and an Aldi; and other smaller shops. The hotel is owned by a German company and operated by a German Service company, under license from the Holiday Inn company. We chose it as it was the closest to the centre, with air-conditioning at a reasonable price (Munich accommodation is pricey). Our overall experience was mixed: the room was ok, but they're updating them and ours was one of the old style rooms. It was spacious enough, had good storage, decent beds, a bath, fridge (all items charged for), ironing board and hairdryer. It was clean and the cleaning staff were very friendly. The air-conditioning worked well. On the downside, we did experience room and corridor noise, but worse was from the renovations two floors up, with drilling and banging from 10am onwards until 6pm. The drilling was loud enough to prevent conversation. Luckily we weren't planning on hanging around during the day, but the reception staff response was simply that the work "had to be done sometime". There was no room safe (renovated rooms will have) which meant using the safes downstairs at reception. Staff were always obliging but it's a pfaff and required a €100 deposit for the key (lose the key and they charge €200). Reception staff were fine but in a professional rather than friendly way. I guess its size makes it impersonal. The shower was adequate but not terribly powerful. I like having baths too, so that was a bonus. Breakfasts get good reviews but the charge is €25 per person; we were offered it at €25 for two people per day if we booked breakfast every day. For our 6 night stay that would have meant €150, so we declined. The area around is quite buzzy at night: there are concert venues nearby and there is a handful of restaurants and bars within a few minutes' walk but there's a better choice across the River Isar. (There's a fantastically popular ice-cream bar a block away - queues until 11pm). Overall our stay was all right, but I'd find a different venue next time. PS: the swimming pool has been closed for several years for renovation but the reception staff said they didn't know if/when it would reopen.

As is usual for a full service hotel, they have people outside to welcome guests and a whole bunch of people in the lobby to help with registrations and such. In the lobby is the most amazing display of candy truffles. They're not cheap but they are absolutely amazing. Well worth it. And I don't know exactly how much they are but they are delicious. A perfect gift if you need one. Service at the front is impeccable. And while it's not my own experience, my friend said that her stay at the hotel was excellent. It's across from Cartier and there is a Van Cleef across the street. There is some seriously high-end shopping available on the Maximilianstraße where this hotel is located. As always, the doormen and valets were awesome and the gal who checked us in was a sweetheart. That is where the good stops. The room had an odd layout and not all the light switches worked. There were no luggage racks for our suitcases and we had to ask several times. There were no sheets on the bed, only one cover and the beds were REALLY hard and uncomfortable. The turndown service consisted of water by the bedside but they didn't give us any so we had to call down and ask for it. They also didn't put a Do Not Disturb sign in our door so we were woken by staff early in the AM our first day in Munich. Not good. The in-room entertainment didn't work, the tv remote barely worked and the english option didn't work at all so it was useless. It also seemed really outdated. We had dinner in the bar/restaurant downstairs which is not cheap and the waitress was a smartass with me when I asked a question about one of the appetizers and wanted her to explain to me exactly what was in it. She acted like I was an idiot and I had to correct her. She apologized and was very polite afterwards but it really irritates me when staff at a fancy hotel act snobbish. The included breakfast was decent - with a lot of options - so I was happy with that and the concierge desk was very friendly and helpful as well. The room was not comfortable, low on amenities, needed some updates, and I wasn't impressed. This was one of my least favorite hotels. As far as location to restaurants, shops, and some sights, it's great. But for the price. It wasn't worth it.

So much of this hotel is 5 stars including the variety, amenities, luxury, and staff. This historic hotel is filled with a variety of eateries, entertainment including a movie theater, and the Blue Spa which includes massage rooms, saunas, steam rooms, plunge bath, swimming pool, juice bar and a gym. The staff was courteous and pleasant, always greeting us with a smile. In the morning, the breakfast served on the 6th floor, which is not complimentary, was overflowing with a surplus of options that puts most American breakfasts to shame. We worked out at the gym or jogged through English Garden. We showered back at the hotel then while at breakfast, housekeeping tidied up our room and made the bed. In the evening when we returned the bathrooms were freshened up again, the beds were turned down, and the curtains were drawn shut. Another example of excellent customer service, The Garden was closing but the staff went above and beyond to coordinate with the Trader Vic staff to use service elevators in the kitchen to get someone in our group with a wheelchair down to the restaurant that was still open. It was a really amazing experience. I felt rich for a week! Everyday we were there we found something new, this hotel is huge! The fifth star - I made the review 4 stars because I have some honest feedback to consider, July 2025... the construction is terrible, really confusing with the elevator situation. We were not the only guest having trouble with this. Also we wish the menus had more vegan options across the board. The city of Munich is very 21st century and vegan friendly, the Bayerischer isn't quite there yet and needs to explore some new plant-based options! Maybe dark chocolates at turndown and vegan macarons at arrival??? It's the little things that would make a huge difference. We did appreciate the oat and soy drink options at breakfast but we did have to send back the coffee twice because the coffee was mixed with oat milk and topped with dairy milk foam.

Just a short walk from the Marienplatz, you can easily and speedily train in from the airport. The hotel's spare, vaguely Japanese design appeals - think hardwood floors, muted colours, no superfluous object cluttering up otherwise open space - and so many of the little touches are ones I love like lavender-scented sleep spray next to your bed to spritz on your sheets, a terrific tea menu and an ambient music soundtrack that has twice helped me focus and power through work. The well-trained staff is attentive to your needs, whether they be for a classic cocktail in the lobby or internet access in your room. When I had trouble connecting to the wireless, someone was dispatched to upstairs with a CAT5 cable quicker than I could restart my MacBook! I was there on business (coming from vacation) and the airline had conveniently lost my bags. Joy. That said, I was checked in quickly and efficiently, handed a toothbrush and toothpaste by the sympathetic Front Desk and also told something about my key card -- to which I smiled and nodded (lost in translation). Upon getting to my room, I soon realized they had been telling me that my key card actually turns on the lights in my room. After several (OK, 10 minutes), of trying to figure out how, I located the thing-a-mig-jiggy by the door (technical term) and inserted my card: voila! Lights! The room itself is sparse, but has all your needs: nice bed, view of beautiful Munich, TV, cupboards, Free Internet (albeit very temperamental) and best of all: lavender sheet spray! I never figured out how to use the rain shower head, but did just fine with the other one that's in there. Hopefully future guests will have better luck. But best of all? The service AND the bar. After having many an expertly mixed cocktail in the hotel bar with my colleagues, I toddled myself over to the Front Desk in a borrowed sweater to inquire if my bag arrived. The (again) sympathetic chap said it hadn't arrived, but if I wanted, he would bring it up to me as soon as it did no matter what time. I eagerly nodded, fearing the worst: I would be arriving to my morning's meetings in sandals. But sure enough, at 4am I opened my door to see my waiting bag. Let's just say it was like Christmas had come early! After going that extra mile, the staff, convenient and beautiful location and clean interior would definitely have me excited to stay at Louis Hotel again. Let's just hope my bags come with me next time!

Super helpful and courteous. Experience overall is really good. I recommend it for a place that's easy to get to, centrally located, and have some cool art when you walk in. A couple things I did not enjoy was that there is a lack of room service, no help with the bags getting to the room, a queen size bed is not two twin beds pushed together. This is my first time in Germany so maybe that's standard because I had two separate rooms and they were both that way. And it would've been different if it were two twin beds with one mattress topper or at least even a queen size blanket but when there are two twin size blankets folded separately on two twin size mattresses next to each other. I know that this is not going to be an enjoyable night of sleep with me and my partner. Maybe the separateness is normal in Germany, but I'm not accustomed to it. Three stars because the place was clean and nice, but it didn't have anything that was extra. Was an average hotel and they missed a few marks with the room being very plain considering that's being an art hotel. All of the art was in the lobby, but most people don't spend most of their time in the lobby and if you stay in the building we stayed in you don't even have to pass through the lobby so I saw the lobby, maybe two or three times.
