This is most center location for Holiday Inn in Paris. Very close to many attractions. It is very close to Norte Dame Paris Cathedral. The hotel is walking distance to many restaurants. The most convenient is the hotel is next to different subway stations. It is easy to catch train to many line. It is also close to the Seine River. Night view along the river is beautiful. It is also the ferry station to night cruise. The bed is comfortable. We spent three night there. Noise level is minimal. Room is not big but have everything we need. During pandemic, the room is cheaper than normal due to lack of tourist. read more

Until my stay at the Holiday Inn Notre Dame I've never had the pleasure of sleeping in a shoe box... I never understood the concept of "tiny European hotel rooms" because we had such large and spacious hotel rooms in Italy, London and Amsterdam. Apparently square footage in Paris is very expensive, even if you are several miles outside of Paris. We decided that we just wanted a safe, clean room in the St. Germain area and took our chances and purchased a hotel room from Hotwire.com. The Holiday Inn would not have been my first choice in hotels, but the hotel was safe and clean and the location was absolutely fantastic! Another perk was the free wi-fi. I had no problem checking my email and facebook account. TIP: Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The toiletries were horrible! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Our hotel was down the street from the St. Michel Metro stop, the Fontaine Saint-Michel, and a ten minute walk from the Sainte-Chapelle Church and the Notre Dame Cathedral. There were so many restaurants, bakeries and wine bars near our hotel. Skip the instant coffee in your room and the overpriced mediocre, breakfast buffet and check out the nearby bakeries. We had breakfast at three different bakeries nearby the hotel: Pâtisserie Viennoise, Eric Kayser, and PAUL. All three bakeries had wonderful pastries and coffee. In the evening we walked to nearby restaurants Au Père Louis and Fish la Boissonnerie (reservation recommended). The hotel staff was polite, but many of the front desk attendants were unfamiliar with the area. The first day we were given the wrong directions to a nearby restaurant. Later that afternoon another desk attendant told my husband that we should walk to the Arc de Triomphe because the walk is so pretty and the arc is only a mile from the hotel. Luckily, I had mapped out all of the attractions in Paris prior to our visit so I knew the arc was actually three miles from our hotel! The Holiday Inn Notre Dame is exactly what you'd expect from Holiday Inn. It's modern, sleek and they are serious about their turn-down service. It's a good thing there's a safe in the room because despite leaving a 'do-not-disturb' sign on the door, they still enter the room and they still make your beds, fold/replace towels, and sweep. I guess I'm not used to that because most places I've been to, usually respect the 'do-not-disturb' sign when it's on the door knob. Not here. When we checked in, they had the beds together and then I guess they realized that we weren't a couple, rather just friends traveling together, so when we returned from our evening, we found the beds split apart by a nightstand. It was interesting to say the least that someone had been in our room while we were gone, without advance notice. Aside from that little fact, our stay was really nice and uneventful. The room was clean and modern. It was nice to have such a purple color palette. Our view of a Parisian street was only marred by the fact there was no Eiffel Tower in it. There's a rooftop lounge available to guests but it seemed that you needed a special key to access the 9th floor/roof. It was cold and rainy in January anyway so I don't think we missed much. There's a full bar in the lobby and they serve breakfast but it's not free. You're better off checking out a local cafe because you're in Paris. Why in the world, would you eat at a Holiday Inn? The hotel is near the RER B/C station which will get you straight to the airport if needed. It's also walking distance to Notre Dame Cathedral and a few stops from the Louvre. We really wanted to stay in central Paris and it was so great that Grace C. was able to cash in some points for us to stay at this Holiday Inn at such a discounted rate. Granted, anywhere in city center Paris will cost you an arm and a leg, but it's worth it. The staff was cordial and they were able to exchange some Euro bills for much needed coins for the metro. Remember, French RER ticket machines only take credit cards with chip & PIN capability so if you have an inferior American card, you'll have to use coins. The RER machine for whatever reason does not take bills. The metro ticket machines do take bills. read more

Pros - Excellent location, clean, well decorated premises, slightly above average bedding, good in room perks like a flat screen TV, minibar, and coffee & tea making facilities. Cons - Hit of miss service, poor value ($200 a night for a tiny room), almost no space for clothing storage, low quality (and expensive) internet service. This hotel is located steps from Notre Dame so it's quite central. It's located near a slew of eateries and pubs, as well as a metro stop, so anything you may want is within walking distance or quick public transport connection. Everything is well designed in the hotel, and it's got a modern, clean feel to it. The rooms have some significant positives which I should mention like the powerful and responsive cooling system (which was amazing), and an amazing bathroom, which was top notch and full of flashy features. They also give you nice little extras like a kettle with coffee and tea, a good quality flat screen TV, and a decently stocked minibar. On the downside, in comparison to most other international locations, the rooms are tiny. They also feature very little in the way of clothing storage space (a bit of a problem for 2 people staying multiple days). But for Paris, as everyone is brainwashed into saying, it's a normal size. I kind of got the feeling the standard rooms here were designed to give you just enough space to make you not complain, but not an inch more. Regarding the service, we felt that it was quite spotty . First, we asked for an 8am wake up call on our first day. It unapologetically came at 830am. No reason except that they forget. Housekeeping also messed up a few times as well; we didn't get replacements for our toilet paper, and the towels were simply fixed up and straightened rather than changed. They also forget to do random, seemingly simple things, like leaving a bath mat, and changing the spoons after we used the ones we got for coffee. I also have to mention that the hotel internet service is poor quality and a bit of a rip off. They offer you various data allotments that range in price from 5 euros to 20 euros. The data you buy is allocated to 24 hour time-blocks and does not roll over. So, if you don't use your data allotment for that period you are out of luck. Also, even if you pay for internet in the room, you still have to pay to use the wireless internet in the lobby. Not exactly fair. You would think at $200 a night for a small, standard room, they would add in complimentary internet access, at the very least in the lobby. No such luck. It's quite mind boggling that this is their policy, especially when so many hotels nowadays are making it a free perk for guests. One final thing regarding the rooms; the value is a bit on the poor side. Yes, you get the great location and the new, clean room. But you will also pay about $200 a night for something that really amounts to a 2, maybe 3 star hotel. In comparison, we got a 5 star hotel in Berlin for about $150. Yes, Paris isn't Berlin, I know. But knowing that your paying so much for such a tiny space makes it feel like a rip off. Paris is always a tough place to find a good room at a good price. So, in the end, I do recommend this property. I should say, I don't recommend it because it's one of the best in it's class in the world, but simply because it's somewhat better than other hotels I've stayed at in Paris. read more

My husband and I visited Paris for our honeymoon earlier this year and we stayed at this Holiday Inn the entire time. I called them before we flow there because I wanted to make sure they had the room for us and wanted to know which transportation can get us there; the front desk people were all very nice and friendly, they made sure I had all that I needed. From the day we checked in to checked out (total 10 days) we had amazing service; the room was small but it was comfy; I liked their bathroom a lot because it was new and modern. They also have a bar on the first floor, it's very convenience because we were able to enjoy a drink or two at the bar or bring the drinks back to our room. One thing I didn't like was their elevator, it was so warm inside that I couldn't breath too well; I suggest them to turn on the AC for the elevator as well. Otherwise, 5 star hotel and will recommend to anyone who visits the area. read more

Nice location, lively restaurants and bars in the surrounding blocks (if your a light sleeper ask for rooms away from the street) reception & front desk staff throughout our stay were great. Rooftop views of the Eiffel Tower, the rooftop bar was closed for the season but we were aloud to bring our own wine from the bodega next door. Room was a single king and"Paris sized" which is tiny, no storage, lived out of my suitcase literally and had to pivot around the bathroom but that's to be expected. Linens were nice, room was clean, good blow dryer, housekeeping even plugged in my iPad lol The only downsides were the very unusual elevator system with only down buttons on each floor. Never an up? Had to go to the lobby to go to the roof and also the lobby bar closed early. Looking forward to staying again next year. read more

While the staff was quite nice and the lobby was fun, our room was not so. Air conditioning did not work and temps were around 88-90 outside. I was told the man who takes care of such tasks as fixing the AC was not available on weekends. Unheard of in the hotel world. We paid extra for a room with an Eifel Tower view. As you can see from our photos, no tower view especially being on the opposite side of the hotel. The shower door would not close properly so water pooled all over the floor with every shower. I was in Paris in February on business travel, and this Holiday Inn was a great choice. I chose this hotel because of it's location and impressively affordable rates given the location, and I would easily return to this hotel and consider them first for any future bookings. Location: Only a couple minutes walk from the Saint-Michel metro and RER-B station (great for access to CDG airport). Easy walking access to the river, Pont Neuf, Louvre, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, and St. Germaine. Ample cafes, bistros, and shops nearby. Small grocery store next door for access to basic room supplies (water, snacks, etc). Hotel Services: Full service bar with friendly staff, featuring a small food menu. Breakfast is available on the lower level, although you can save a lot of money by taking a very short walk out the door to one of the local cafes. There is also a rooftop bar (closed in the Winter, but still accessible for the views) which features amazing views of the city (Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, and all the rooftops in between.). Wifi available. Arrival: Simple and quick. The receptionist was quite friendly and explained the services of the hotel and also provided a quick overview of the neighborhood. No more than a few minutes and I had my key. My Room: "View" room on the 8th floor. Decent size (although likely small to most Americans), with plenty of room to store my bags and clothes, and still be able to walk around without tripping on anything. The View rooms feature some sort of view because of their upper level locations, and mine did not disappoint. Featuring a small walk-out terrace with table, I had a full view reaching from the Eiffel Tower to Montmartre. The bathroom was quite small, but functional, featuring a walk-in shower, toilet, and small sink. The room featured a small wardrobe, basic tea supplies, decent lighting, a small desk, and flat screen TV mounted to the wall behind the door. Wifi access was good, having not difficulty operating on VPN. Checkout: Fast, no issues. Overall: Great location, friendly service, and decent rates. My wife and I really loved this place. We stopped into Paris for a few days on the way to South Africa. We got two free nights through British Airways at another hotel and then used points to stay here for two more. The room was beautiful. The rooftop area was a great way to take in the sights of the city especially watching the Eiffel Tower at night! The shower was good, the wifi fast, and the free newspaper in the lobby a welcome amenity. The location was insanely close to metro- we just can't rave enough about this place, especially after staying at a hotel less than ideal the two days prior. read more

I would definitely recommend this Holiday Inn as an option if you want to be in a pretty convenient location. It's pretty much in the heart of the city and is within walking distance of many sights and nice restaurants (yes, even non-tourist traps). The metro/RER stops are just around the corner. The staff were pleasant and helpful as well (keep in mind: "pleasant" may be a relative term, especially for Americans. Just remember that you're in another country and there's no need to be rude or in a huge rush when dealing with the locals). It was snowing, raining, and freezing during our entire stay, but we didn't let that ruin our time. Fortunately, we brought [mostly] enough clothes to weather the cold. If it wasn't so cold, I think we probably could have done much more. One night we found ourselves staying in the room because we didn't want to venture into the snow and cold during the night time, especially. The rooms are quite comfortable and clean, and have a very modern touch to them (seems as though they were recently upgraded). We definitely slept well and have no complaints. They aren't spacious rooms, but they do have enough space, in my opinion. It was nice that they provided tea, hot chocolate, and an electric kettle as well. Definitely helped me get through a nasty cold I was battling through. The best part was that I had enough Priority Club points to spare for the entire stay, and there is no city tax apparently. So we literally spent nothing else for our hotel stay! NOTE: wifi is free, but it's a bit quirky. You have to sign in via your room number and a special code but occasionally need to sign in multiple times. I think this is because they have an access point with the same SSID but individual web login portals (one in the lobby and probably one on another floor). So you're probably picking up signals from either one at any given time. Reception in the lobby is most reliable. read more

After reading the prior two reviews, I felt the need to preface mine with the following statements: 1) Unless you stay at a luxury hotel, assume your room is small compared to an American hotel room; doing so will prevent you from experiencing the shock upon entering one. The overwhelming majority of European hotel rooms are "small" if you are staying in a large city such as Paris. 2) Free Wi-Fi is a rarity in European hotels. I am a stickler when it comes to amenities and upon researching hotels for our trip, I don't think I found a single hotel providing free Wi-Fi. ----- This ain't your American-type of Holiday Inn! This is the second European Holiday Inn I've stayed in (the other in London), and both have knocked the socks off of its American counterpart. We visited in March of 2011. Fantastic location. It's just across the bridge from the Notre Dame, and we easily walked to the Louvre and Ste. Chapelle. I felt extremely safe in the area, and the ridiculously close proximity to the Metro was a big bonus. It's only four blocks away from a laundromat, which was a necessity as our trip was quite lengthy. Like another reviewer mentioned, don't bother with the breakfast buffet. Extremely overpriced for the few offerings they had. They didn't seem to keep the items well-stocked, either. The room was very modern, and yes, it has a window into the bathroom. Run the shower and steam it up if you are that modest. Flat screen TV, desk, lots of outlets, good room service (try the ham sandwich - deeelish!). Other bonuses: Hair dryer, ironing board, in-room safe. They provided computer and wifi access (new iMacs!) in the spacious lobby area (which includes a bar, televisions, seating areas, etc). We stayed on the first floor and were able to access the wi-fi in our room thanks to our close proximity to the lobby. One reviewer complained of the price, but upon researching comparable hotels, this was a great deal. I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service. Thankfully, everyone I spoke with was fluent in English; I was spared from exhibiting my terrible grasp of French. :) Re: the smallness of the room - Overall, it's not so much "small" as much as it is an awkward use of space. The bathroom is quite spacious (as I recall). Awesome location. It's a block away from 2 different subway lines, a 5 minute walk from Notre Dame, and just an all-around good location to be in. Highlights: -The rooms, while a bit small, are clean and a little more modern-looking -The rooftop gives you a great view of the Eiffel Tower that you can enjoy whenever the hell you please. -Front desk is pretty helpful and also have converters available for US travelers -There's a ton of restaurants within a 30-second walking radius as well as small grocery stores so you'll have everything you need. -If you are IHG, then there's free wifi too. The mattress was so comfortable we almost didn't miss our own bed which is a first for me. The shower was fantastic, I want that set up at home. The staff was so nice! Great location, posh interior, loved the rooftop even though it was 35 degrees F outside. This is an EXCELLENT location. The reason to stay here is 90% location especially if you are into books and/or comics. It is also right near all the storied literary cafes and other left bank spots people obsess over including some of the best walks and bridges... (e.g. http://www.lily-like.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/LilyLike_paris_pontdesartes_sartre.jpeg) The hotel rooms are generously sized from what I have experienced before in Paris but they are a bit outdated and cluttered with furniture, which makes them counterintuitively laid out in relation to the space available. I do wish they had a little more provisions for having food en suite (i.e. a better fridge at minimum) but there is a chill little market downstairs (not connected), a grocery store a block away, a metro stop right there, great restaurants, bookstores, and bakeries in close distance...and a bunch of other stuff. For example, if you are sitting around here bored, you can be at Notre Dame within 5 minutes or at Shakespeare and Co. in about the same amount of time. You are also right next to all these weird tourist trap alleys, which mostly suck but there are a couple places in there that are good like the ice cream place that makes ice creams into flowers or the vegetarian restaurant. There are also some really amazing secondhand bookstores and comic shops hidden in there as well. Last, I felt like the staff is excellent. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful even though our grasp of French is child level. They helped us with some reservations and the more complicated car rides we needed to procure. read more

I would give this hotel 0 stars if possible. It is rated a four star hotel - if this is a four star hotel, I'm a monkey's uncle. Booked an Executive Room - the room itself was small and made almost unusable by the addition of excessive amounts of furniture. The end result of putting everything you would expect in an executive room in a twin size room. Maids did not make our room one of the three days we were there. The piece de resistance was when we had reception order us a cab for pick-up at 9:00 am to go to CDG. At 9:10 when their cab had still not arrived, we flagged down an open cab to ensure we would not miss our flight. The reception worker, Francesco, had the nerve to come out on the street to tell the cab driver he could not take us. As you might imagine, I told him to F/O after which he continued to argue with me. It's a bad hotel - poorly run by inept staff and an embarrassment to the IHG brand. read more

Monkey recently visited Paris and was fortunate to stay at the Holiday Inn Notre Dame. The location was excellent since it was a 5 minute walk to Notre Dame. If you stay here you must reserve an Eiffel Tour view room so you can go out onto your balcony and enjoy a morning coffee or evening wine overlooking the Eiffel Tour and Sacre Coeur. The rooftop bar is officially open during the summer but anyone at anytime can go up and enjoy the views of Paris to include the above and Notre Dame. The rooms are comfortable but basic. The maid service could do a bit better job cleaning the room. Overall, the price is exceptional for what you get at this hotel. Please consider staying here if you are visiting the French capital. read more

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel this past March. At first I was a little disappointed that my husband booked this hotel as it is an American chain hotel and I wanted to indulge in the full French experience but the hotel is in Paris France with French employees. I still got the French experience. Customer service was great! Everyone at the front desk was super friendly to us even though my husband didn't speak French everyone did their best to communicate with him in English. Rooms are small but again it's PARIS!!! The bathroom was super modern but had a window to the room. There was a curtain but it was still kinda transparent and you could see a sillouet when someone was in the bathroom. So my only compliant was no privacy while in the bathroom. Rooms were cleaned every other day. The housekeeping lady didn't speak English but she was really nice. She told me about the every other day cleaning thing and told me that if I wanted the towels changed to just leave them on the floor. The hours that they come by are unpredictable. They usually cleaned our room around 5ish. Internet is expensive and sometimes will not work in the rooms. I loved how this hotel was centrally located to everything! The RER and Metro were only a 2 minute walk away. There was a lot of eateries in the neighborhood as well. There was even a small market right next door to the hotel! didn't get any better than this. We used their airport shuttle at our departure which not only was affordable but very reliable. The diver was there early too. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel. I do NOT recommend their breakfast buffet, it had a poor selection of items and it was too pricey for what little they had. Just walk on over to one of the many near by Cafes. read more

BEST HOTEL VIEW IN PARIS This place gets a rating based on location and common areas only. Roof top terrace is amazing and open anytime, I would take my coffee up there in the morning while waiting for my partner (more about that in a minute) it becomes a full bar in the evenings. Concierge was cute and very polite but when it came down to it not at all concerned with helping guests. The hotel staff seemed very inexperienced and overwhelmed. Lobby bathrooms were dirty. Lobby and downstairs bar area are pleasant and comfortable. Our room was clean and comfortable except for one glaring issue: the door that separates the bathroom from the bedroom was a sliding glass shower door, really a curtain would have had a better effect, at least one would not see through it. My partner found this so disconcerting that anytime he had to use the facilities he required me to vacate our chamber, not so convenient, but at least there were pleasant public spaces to wait in! read more
